With radial topology and one-way power flow, it was only necessary to evaluate the envelope of design conditions (i.e., peak loads or fault currents), rather than continually observe the operating state. But the growth of distributed energy resources, such as renewable generation, electric vehicles, and demand response programs, introduces more short-term and unpredicted fluctuations and disturbances [1] . This suggests a need for more refined measurement, given both the challenge of managing increased variability and uncertainty and the presence of a higher level of narrowband and broadband interference and measurement noise.","PeriodicalId":299510,"journal":{"name":"2020 3rd International Youth Scientific and Technical Conference on Relay Protection and Automation (RPA)","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129596424","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the conditions of the development and improvement of the reliability of power systems, the task of monitoring low-frequency oscillations (LFO) is becoming more and more urgent. The increasing availability of phasor measurement units (PMUs) and the ongoing implementation of the Wide Area Measurement Systems (WAMS) makes it possible to solve applied tasks at different levels of the power system. In addition to detecting emergency and abnormal modes, based on the processing of data from synchrophasor measurements, the search for sources of system destabilization can also be performed.","PeriodicalId":299510,"journal":{"name":"2020 3rd International Youth Scientific and Technical Conference on Relay Protection and Automation (RPA)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121611874","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

AM is determined as one of the hardest and the most dangerous emergency modes in EPS. This is connected with disturbance of generator and electrical station parallel work stability [1] . It leads to primary damage of electrical equipment because of the huge current in generator stator winding. Therefore, the disturbance of the generator and electrical station parallel work stability is the reason for decrease in auxiliary mechanism productivity at electrical stations. These effects cause customer electrical supply disturbance and are connected with critical economic losses [2] . Therefore, it is vital to determine AM selectively in appropriate time and to recover normal work mode of EPS.","PeriodicalId":299510,"journal":{"name":"2020 3rd International Youth Scientific and Technical Conference on Relay Protection and Automation (RPA)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129745637","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

At the present time in electric power industry a concept of intelligent electrical power system is realized. A key component of this system is a digital substation. One of the main tasks of digital substation equipment is realization of effective relay protection and network automation devices. Relatively new phenomenon in this field is relay protection devices, which are based on travelling wave parameters measurement. A very important characteristic of relay protection devices (especially for extra-high voltage transmission lines of 330-750 kV) is their speed-of-response. The usage of travelling wave-based principle will allow to limit speed-of-response only by travelling wave propagation time along a protected transmission line.","PeriodicalId":299510,"journal":{"name":"2020 3rd International Youth Scientific and Technical Conference on Relay Protection and Automation (RPA)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129422579","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
