Blocking of Control of the Circuit Breaker in the Presence of a Dangerous Aperiodic Component in the Total Current of the Circuit Breaker
Currently, the number of sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) circuit breakers in the ultra-high voltage networks of 110 kV and higher is growing. Switches are installed both at new electric power facilities and at existing facilities, in place of equipment that has exhausted its resource, as well as on projects to modernize open switchgear. Oil and air switches 110-750 kV fall under replacement. The advantage of sulfur hexafluoride circuit breakers is a significant reduction in operating costs, a high resource of equipment, and an increased service life compared to installed switches. In addition to a large number of advantages, sulfur hexafluoride circuit breakers also have negative sides: in 2006-2011, a number of accidents occurred in the power systems of Russia and Kakhzakhstan, followed by the destruction of 500-750 kV switches: - in 2006 and 2007-PS 1150 kV Kokshetau; - in 2007-PS 1150 kV Altai; - in 2009 SS – 500 kV Agadyr SS; - in 2011.
