Abstract

The essential requirement for the automatic excitation control (AEC) is to ensure the stability of the electric power system and the required quality of the transition process. For this purpose, the common practice is to calculate the optimal AEC settings in every circuit mode and to choose the final setting, which provides the best transient damping in all situations with low level disturbances at any point in the system [1] .
