However, in small cell environments, the power consumed by the DPD is no longer negligible and significantly affects the overall efficiency of the DPD+HPA cascade. In this paper, we present new architecture for the baseband DPD that has very low power consumption. The proposed DPD comprises a cascade sub-band filters block and a memoryless adaptive predistorter. The sub-band filtering technique is used to compensate for the orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) signal in-band distortions caused by the HPA memory effect, and the memoryless predistorter compensates for both the in-band and out-of-band transmitting (Tx) signal distortions. The sampling rate of the sub-band filters is only 1/(N$cdot$L) of the sampling rate of the Tx OFDM signal (N is IFFT size, L is the Tx signal oversampling ratio). Therefore, the power consumption of the proposed subband DPD is significantly less than that of the typical memorypolynomial (M-P) DPD operating at a rate of N$cdot$L. The simulation result for a 20-MHz LTE system shows that the power consumed by the proposed sub-band DPD is reduced by a factor of five compared to that consumed by the M-P DPD and provides similar linearization quality.","PeriodicalId":298927,"journal":{"name":"2019 22nd International Symposium on Wireless Personal Multimedia Communications (WPMC)","volume":"316 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115669782","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) is one of the major health problems for elderly people. Especially, hypertension is the main risk factor causing CVD. Consequently, recognizing the ability to control hypertension is very important for providing appropriate treatment recommendations. Therefore, this paper proposes a classification of an elderly group respecting the controllability of hypertension for preventing CVD complications. Decision tree, artificial neuron network, and K-nearest neighbors are employed and compared for classifying elderly group. Moreover, this paper also aims to find the most suitable classifier for the datasets used in this study. Total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, body mass index, and smoking are considered in this paper as the significant risk factors of hypertension development. All data of these factors are collected from secondary data related to elderly people having hypertension with the number of 748 datasets. Finally, the elderly people are classified into two groups including potential controllable group and potential uncontrollable group. The results show that the decision tree provides the highest accuracy of classification for this dataset with 99.11%.","PeriodicalId":298927,"journal":{"name":"2019 22nd International Symposium on Wireless Personal Multimedia Communications (WPMC)","volume":"220 4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124205734","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Manufacturing industry requires enhancement of productivity as well as flexibility to adapt to short product lifecycle and to realize high-mix, low volume production is required for global competitive advantages. In the 2.4 GHz frequency band, the number of wireless devices has increased. In addition, the wireless environment has become more complicated because they use different wireless standards depending on applications. In this paper, we propose a frequency assigning method for uniformed management of both Bluetooth and wireless LANs. In the UTW-OFDM system, interference generated by windowing is suppressed by using channel coding, and the practicality of UTW-OFDM has been shown for the IEEE 802.11af system using the convolutional coding and the LTE system using the turbo coding Meanwhile, to our best knowledge, the UTW-OFDM-based 5G system using low-density paritycheck (LDPC) coding has not been presented. In this paper, the authors describe how the UTW-OFDM can be applied to 5G new radio (NR). Firstly, the authors point out that common calculation methods of the log-likelihood ratio (LLR) in the decoding process of the LDPC coding degrade the communication quality, especially in a high SNR environment. Then, an adjustment method of the LLR is proposed to mitigate the degradation of the communication quality and demonstrate that the proposed method strongly suppresses OOBE with maintaining the communication quality when applying the UTW-OFDM to the 5G NR.","PeriodicalId":298927,"journal":{"name":"2019 22nd International Symposium on Wireless Personal Multimedia Communications (WPMC)","volume":"280 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116222156","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In addition, performance enhancement necessitates the support of a wide range of frequencies, intelligent dynamic use of the available spectrum resources, and the implementation of a number of types of waveform. Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM), and in particular its ability of Cyclic Prefix (CP) adaptation, appears unable to fulfil the requirements of the different types of services currently utilised by users. In this context, the parameters characterising the different types of waveforms, such as the number of subcarriers, subcarrier spacing (SCS) and slot duration, can be flexibly adapted to the current communication scenario, resulting in a reduction in latency and a significant improvement in user throughput. In this paper, the specific design peculiarities of mixed waveform numerology in relation to high-mobility communication environments characterized by Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I) downlink communications are considered. The results demonstrate that the enhancement of network performance according to the specific channel conditions and level of interference, together with the trade-off between spectral efficiency and computational complexity, are the most important challenges in the design and practical implementation of the mixed waveform numerology concept.","PeriodicalId":298927,"journal":{"name":"2019 22nd International Symposium on Wireless Personal Multimedia Communications (WPMC)","volume":"283 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122962331","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper proposes an optimal power allocation algorithm for the transmission of layered video streams over point-to-point multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems combined with superposition coding. The proposed power allocation scheme is derived from the maximization of the weighted sum-rate, where two-step optimization leads to a closed-form solution. First, the power distribution between eigen-channels is optimized, and then the optimal power allocation to quality layers is obtained. Results demonstrate that the proposed scheme attains higher peak signalto-noise ratio on average in a wide range of signal-to-noise ratio than conventional fixed power allocation schemes.","PeriodicalId":298927,"journal":{"name":"2019 22nd International Symposium on Wireless Personal Multimedia Communications (WPMC)","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122564656","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
