We have tried to understand how trust in remote work can be influenced in order to avoid possible problems caused by ignorance. For managers as well as for members of remote teams, establishing relationships based on trust has been and continues to be a challenge at the moment. The present study wants to highlight which are the main groups of factors that we must consider regarding the relationship with the element of trust in the context of conducting remote work. For the empirical data collection, we used a questionnaire. The data were analyzed with SPSS factorial analysis. The results obtained in the analysis of the factors show us that in our country, at present, there are no significant differences between the aspects considered important from the perspective of the remote team leader compared to the simple members. The nine factors were grouped into two components both for remote team leaders and for their simple members. For organizations operating in a remote system, it is important to remember the two defining components, in order to act accordingly when faced with productivity issues or adaptation to the new work system.","PeriodicalId":296892,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Management Conference","volume":"125 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126866431","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The literature shows that one-tier or unitary and twotier or dualistic board systems have different advantages and disadvantages, like lower levels of information problems in unitary systems and higher levels of independence in the case of two-tier systems. The purpose of this paper is to collect information on various board and firm characteristics from around 60 companies with the unitary system and 6 companies with the dual system listed on BSE and analyses the differences that impact their financial performance. The results indicate that companies with a two-tier system are larger and have larger board sizes. In addition, they have better performance on average, measured by the return on equity indicator. However, the regression results indicate that these positive performance effects of the two-tier board become statistically insignificant when the various board and company characteristics are included as control variables. The low sample size of the two-tier board companies is a possible factor creating statistically insignificant results. The additional regressions results show that when the share of independent board members increases by 10%, the ROE increases by 1.26%.","PeriodicalId":296892,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Management Conference","volume":"646 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122700477","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

I argue that the main themes they use derive from their legitimation as psychotherapists operating for the well-being of their patients, and from their position of private medical services providers. Firstly, as surgeons need to reconcile their medical profession with the profit motive, their social media representations consist of their being shown in the avant-garde of progress as medical, and technical innovators. Their representation as innovators is legitimated as ultimately being beneficial for the patients’ surgical transformation. Secondly, their legitimation of the surgical interventions on healthy bodies draws its foundation from the psychological domain. The cosmetic surgery interventions are presented as being performed for the psychological well-being of the patient. Another dynamic that underlies this process is the pathologization of women’s bodies, in which traditionally surgeons play an important role on account of their power derived from their scientific authority. Lastly, in the context of a neoliberal consumer society, women have become informed-patient consumers. This development informs the legitimation repertoires of surgeons who willingly share their expertise with their patients. Consequently, their social media posts consist of content in which they aim to educate their audience by sharing various medical and technical aspects.","PeriodicalId":296892,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Management Conference","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129601132","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Much research in recent decades has studied the causal relationships with implications and antecedents of CSR application, debated definitions, and considered their scope and content. This study wants to analyze, in the contexts of SMEs, the theoretical frame of reference, the consequences as well as the antecedents of CSR in order to provide future empirical studies, a starting point. The results highlight aspects related to the possible impact in the context of SMEs of CSR, barriers, language, terminology, background and the recommended theoretical framework. The analysis of the scientific output that is indexed in the international Scopus database on the topic of “corporate social performance and corporate social responsibility” in SMEs is the main objective of this study. Social responsibility actions represent, within large corporations, a natural practice, which is obvious, observed in the literature. Given this aspect, there is a totally different reality in the case of small and medium enterprises, primarily due to their high heterogeneity. Starting from this objective, we identified a number of 324 articles on this topic, following a bibliometric analysis. Over the course of a few months, Covid_19 affects all aspects of daily life globally. Due to the increased mobility, travel and tourism, the virus is rapidly reaching all continents. Ironically, tourism is falling victim to its own success. As a result of unprecedented measures to prevent the spread of the virus, in April 2020, 100% of the world's tourist destinations introduce travel restrictions (UNCTAD, 2020). For the world economy, tourism is an essential sector. In 2019, the tourism sector accounted for almost 30% of global service exports and created 300 million jobs (UNCTAD, 2020). The lock-down and restrictions imposed have a severe effect on tourism and travel, and for countries that depend to a significant extent on this economic field, things are even worse. According to data provided by the UNWTO, the contribution of the tourism sector to global GDP was about 10%. With 1,481 million international arrivals and revenues of $ 1.46 trillion in 2019, it is one of the most dynamic sectors of the global economy.","PeriodicalId":296892,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Management Conference","volume":"32 8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125709745","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Information technology has been the new challenge of the world economy for several decades. Rapid progress in this area is increasingly influencing the way we live and work. Through the profound impact on society, the phenomenon is unanimously appreciated as a feature of the new industrial revolution \"information society\". E-Government is important for both OECD and EU member states. The usefulness of this activity is necessary for public institutions, private agencies, where different alternatives must be chosen for the implementation of projects or e-Government activity. The advance towards the information society, based on knowledge is considered, at a global level, as a necessary evolution for ensuring sustainable development in the context of the new economy, based on products and intellectual-intensive activities. The novelty of the new society is the speed with which knowledge is renewed (the volume of knowledge available doubles every five years). At the same time the discrepancies of development between various parts of our planet have never been more visible due to the extraordinary development of all manners of communication and information sources. One of the most visible areas in which such discrepancies are hard to be ignored, due to its far-reaching impact is the management of waste products namely the waste produced by the daily activity of the population – municipal waste. There are countries which have implemented management systems which result in a net minus quantity of waste – meaning that that specific country imports waste in order to utilize it for its own industries and there are countries which have become storage facilities for the waste generated by other countries. This study has as main purpose a comparison of the systems in such countries from the most developed ones to the ones which are currently the least developed in this area, by taking a look at what the largest waste management companies in Zanzibar and Norway are doing and analyzing their strong and weak point while providing solutions for improvement.","PeriodicalId":296892,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Management Conference","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130433303","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

And the pace of this change seems to be faster and faster. National culture is no exception. Although long viewed as difficult to change, cultural values also seem to be subject to the pressure of change. The importance of leisure time, considered a characteristic of indulgent cultures, is subject of analysis in this paper. The main purpose of this paper is to analyse whether the evolution of expenditures on tourism and cultural activities has had an upward evolution so as to justify the increase in the share of people who attach great importance to leisure time. To achieve this goal, we analysed the secondary data from WVS and performed a mathematical modelling of two sets of statistical data for the interval 2000 and 2020. The results showed that the growing importance of leisure time suggested by the analysis of WVS data is also supported by the evolution of spending on tourism and cultural activities. the implications are multiple. The question is whether cultural values are stable enough to be used in the cultural characterization of countries based on scores of cultural dimensions. Of course, research on several other cultural values is needed.","PeriodicalId":296892,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Management Conference","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129387501","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
