Some forward-thinking parents seek alternatives like one-on-one tutoring or paid online learning, yet financial constraints intensify anxiety, especially for economically disadvantaged families. It is also the front and window of China's opening and cooperation to the ASEAN, and an important gateway for the land and sea convergence of the new land and sea channel in the west. Guangxi's marine economy continues to grow rapidly, and the transformation and upgrading of its marine industrial structure are facing both opportunities and challenges. Firstly, this paper reviews and analyzes the development process of Guangxi's marine industry, introduces the resource advantages and basic conditions of Guangxi's marine industry in detail, and focuses on issues such as marine scientific, technological innovation, and personnel training. Secondly, the paper puts forward some suggestions and measures on financial support for the transformation and upgrading of Guangxi's marine industry structure, including increasing credit investment in the marine industry, innovating the financial service model, supporting scientific and technological innovation and personnel training, etc., which provide new paths for Guangxi's marine industry to achieve sustainable development.","PeriodicalId":294362,"journal":{"name":"Economics & Management Information","volume":"24 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139229446","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on the technology acceptance model and the theory of planned behavior, many studies suggest that perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, entrepreneurial attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavior control may affect college students' entrepreneurial intention. To encourage college students to participate in platform economy entrepreneurship, educators and policymakers need to pay attention to improving college students' perception of the ease and usefulness of starting a business using digital platforms, cultivating their positive entrepreneurial attitudes, and improving their perceived behavioral control. This may be achieved by providing entrepreneurship education and training, as well as creating an environment that encourages self-drive and self-control.","PeriodicalId":294362,"journal":{"name":"Economics & Management Information","volume":"32 11","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139254271","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, scarcity of resources makes it difficult to produce or access products and services that satisfy individual needs. This paper identifies microfinancing and microeconomics as crucial drivers of effective resource allocation and distribution because they help individuals navigate economic challenges. In this regard, microfinancing ensures small businesses and poor entrepreneurs get credit and saving products by removing collateral restrictions. The loans match their business goals and visions. Microeconomics entails improving the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services among the building blocks of the economy-wide phenomena – individuals or households and businesses. Through a review of various literature, this paper identifies four influences of microfinancing and microeconomics. First, they help individuals break from poverty by improving their access to basic needs. Second, microfinancing and microeconomics create the possibility of income streams by promoting financial inclusion. Third, the strategies encourage innovation by allowing individuals to establish businesses that solve their socio-economic challenges. Last, they cultivate entrepreneurship by providing simple, time-saving startup capital and other credit and saving products. The paper seeks to serve as a point exploring the role of microfinancing and microeconomics in the economic development of nations.","PeriodicalId":294362,"journal":{"name":"Economics & Management Information","volume":"82 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139314266","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Oriol, Humberto Falcão Martins","doi":"10.58195/emi.v2i2.95","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.58195/emi.v2i2.95","url":null,"abstract":"Studies focusing on the theory of New Developmentalism have been growing in recent years. This has happened since the great crisis of Neoliberalism in 2008, which pointed to the exhaustion of the financial-rentier Neoliberal model as a solution to issues related to the development of countries. Based on this diagnosis, we proposed a bibliometric analysis that shows the past, the present, and the future possibilities (trends) within the field of New Developmentalism. For the execution of this Bibliometrics, we searched for the articles published and indexed in the Web of Science and Scopus databases using the search term \"New Developmentalism\". The result pointed to 749 published articles. The search used the term in all the search fields available in the databases, excluding no possibilities. These data were treated in “Biblioshiny” within the RStudio software and the results were analyzed to generate a mapping of the field of study. The results of this study show that this is still a new field of study and that it needs a lot of research to reach maturity. An even more evident gap is the scarcity of studies that address the macroeconomic prices important for the growth of national economies, as pointed out by the New Developmentalism Theory of Brasser-Pereira. In this gap, we identify arguments contrary to the theory that need to be addressed and empirically researched to be accepted or refuted. By working this gap, we would bring light to points not yet explored and enrich the discussions. The problem of the role of the State as a promoter of the conditions for the economic development of countries, in contrast to the Neoliberalism that advocates a minimal State, is also an aspect little explored by empirical articles, requiring further study. Another important point that needs to be addressed is the incorporation of the ecological and social agenda, especially that of income distribution in the studies of the application of the New Developmentalism Theory. In this gap, the inclusion of the third sector in the New Developmentalism Theory as an agent distinct from the State and the Market could be a solution and an innovation. The third sector's principle is to promote and bring about structural changes in society that are very important for the economic and social development of countries. This inclusion helps in the expansion of income distribution and social development processes that the State, based on rules (Bureaucracy), and the Market, based on profit (competition), are unable to accomplish. We also identify the need for a more particularized delineation of the identification of New Developmentalism Theory, generating a label that does not confuse with other theories. Thus, we seek to contribute to the field of study by showing the advances made so far and pointing out directions that can be followed by other researchers who wish to expand the study of New Developmentalism Theory.","PeriodicalId":294362,"journal":{"name":"Economics & Management Information","volume":"13 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139316890","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Construction project stakeholders are recognizing a growing need for graduate architects to improve their professional development within the industry for smooth project delivery. The purpose of this study is to identify the types of knowledge required by graduate architects to be competent when supporting the building contract administration work and to enable them to move a step closer to acquiring their professional qualifications. The study design follows a mixed methodology of quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis. First, a literature review was conducted to form questions for the survey. After the questionnaire survey, semi-structured interviews were conducted with practitioners in the industry. A total of one hundred and eighty (180) questionnaires were distributed and one hundred and twenty-seven (127) questionnaires were returned. Data collected were analyzed using frequency distribution analysis and relative importance index (RII). Results from the questionnaire survey were triangulated with semi-structured interviews formed by twenty (20) practicing architects. Data collected from semi-structured interviews have been analyzed using thematic analysis. The result of the questionnaire survey and semi-structure interview both agreed that the most significant knowledge require is legal study knowledge. However, both methods have a different conclusion for least significant knowledge where the survey’s result showed communication and relationship management knowledge while semi-structured interviews’ result showed quality and assessment management less significant. The contribution of this study is perceived as essential for developing graduate architects’ competency in work performance and covers the limitations of the existing studies. Academics can use the outcome of this study as a reference in their teaching modules.","PeriodicalId":294362,"journal":{"name":"Economics & Management Information","volume":"2015 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139336121","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These have worsened the formulation of demand and supply mechanism, and as such led to huge spike in building materials’ prices. The study assesses the impact of Covid-19 measures on the cost of building materials in the construction industry in South-South region of Nigeria. Data were collected from 269 construction professionals using a quantitative survey. The findings reveal the most important economic factors affecting the cost of building materials as inflation rate, exchange rate, and interest rate. The most significant challenges associated with the rising cost of building materials were also fluctuation in construction cost, increase in final cost of building projects, and risk of project abandonment. It concludes that cost is an important aspect of project execution, therefore effective mechanisms and polices should be put in place to manage these economic factors in order to mitigate or eliminate the rising cost of building materials. The study provides insight to project practitioners and government policy makers on areas to focus on in order to tackle the rising cost of building materials.","PeriodicalId":294362,"journal":{"name":"Economics & Management Information","volume":"5 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139349530","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
