Mathematical reasoning ability can be seen from the test results of students in working on questions made based on indicators of mathematical reasoning ability. This study aims to describe students' mathematical reasoning abilities in algebraic material. The type of research used was qualitative research with 3 students selected from 24 class VII students of Ambon Catholic Junior High School based on the results of mathematical reasoning ability tests on algebraic material with high, medium and low mathematical reasoning ability categories. The results showed that subjects with high mathematical reasoning abilities can fulfill each indicator of mathematical reasoning ability. Student with moderate category fulfilled 3 indicators of mathematical reasoning. This type of research is qualitative descriptive research. The study was conducted on 3 subjects, each of which was high, medium, and low which was taken based on test results and educators' considerations about students' communication skills. The analysis of student errors is classified according to mathematical objects (facts, concepts, principles, and operations) in using Polya's problem-solving steps. The instruments used in this study test sheets and interview guidelines included the researcher as the main instrument. The results showed that subjects were highly capable of solving the 3 problems given and did not perform indicators of errors of mathematical objects in solving problems. The capable subject is solving 3 questions and performing three indicators of errors in problem solving, namely facts, concepts, and principles. Low-ability subjects solve 3 questions and perform four indicators of errors in problem solving, namely facts, concepts, principles, and operations. The purpose of this study was to determine whether (1) the effect of self-confidence on the mathematics learning achievement of class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Merauke, (2) the effect of students who took and did not take tutoring on the mathematics achievement of class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Merauke, (3) the influence of the self-confidence of students who take and do not take tutoring on the mathematics achievement of class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Merauke. The sample in this study was 83 students in class X SMA Negeri 1 Merauke. The research instrument used was a self-confidence questionnaire, and the value of student achievement. Data collection techniques included distributing self-confidence questionnaires to find out the level of self-confidence of students taking and not taking tutoring classes, and administering math quizzes to determine student achievement. Research data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, and followed by inferential analysis. Teachers rarely give high-order thinking skills to students in learning mathematics, so students are given non-routine questions, and questions that require critical and creative solutions, students have difficulty solving them. To overcome this, this study used a generative learning model. Learning with this model has succeeded in increasing student mathematics learning outcomes. The specific objective of this research is to develop generative learning tools to improve the high-level mathematical thinking skills of junior high school students. This research is product development research in the form of generative learning tools to improve higher-level mathematical thinking skills to be used in junior high schools. There are three learning tools developed, namely teaching materials, student worksheets, and learning implementation plans, which will be used in the teaching and learning process. The development of this learning device refers to the general teaching material development model of Tjeerd Plomp (1997) which consists of several phases, namely: (1) initial investigation phase; (2) design phase; (3) realization; and (4) test, evaluation, and revision phases. The data collection instrument used basic mathematics ability test questions which totaled 20 multiple choice questions. To analyze the data obtained, the steps consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions were used using Miles and Huberman's analysis techniques. The results of the study showed that the basic math abilities of grade VIII students were moderate. Population of the study is all the active students, while the sample consist of 106 students consisting of 51 students in the control class who were taught by direct learning model without e-module and 55 students in the experimental class who were taught by case method model with e-module. This research used questionnaire, test, and documentation for collecting the research data. It used two-way ANOVA with different cell for analyzing the data. Mathematical communication is one of the standard processes in learning mathematics. The purpose of this research is to analyze the mathematical communication skills after students receive realistic learning based on coastal potential. The research method was carried out using quasi-experimental research with pretest and posttest control groups. This research was conducted at three junior high schools in West Seram District with a sample of 120 student participants. The instrument developed was a matter of mathematical communication skills as much as 5 questions. Data analysis was carried out namely descriptive statistics, data requirements test including normality test and homogeneity test, then the hypothesis was tested with t-dependent and Wilcoxon tests. At this stage to obtain data on the results of tests of mathematical representation and communication abilities, scoring will be carried out on student's answers for each item. The findings show that there are differences in students' mathematical problem-solving and communication abilities taught by coastal and conventional RME-based learning. From the two learning models used it is proven that RME learning based on coastal potential is more influential and more effective than conventional learning on mathematical communication skills. There are differences in improving mathematical communication skills using the RME learning model based on coastal potential and conventional learning. The research was conducted towards 8th grade student’s of Kristen Kalam Kudus Junior High School Ambon. Ever since 66 students, 20 students were randomly selected as research samples. The data collection was carried out using a numeracy literacy test instrument. To obtain data on the learning process in school, the development of numeracy literacy, was conducted using Learning Process Document wich was prepared by Mathematics Teacher. The data where analyzed using a five-scale conversion according to Ratumanan and Laurens (2015). The data review also where analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis methods. According to this study, it was known, there are 2 students (10%) had a good numeracy literacy capability, 3 students (15%) had good numeracy literacy capability, 4 students (20%) had a sufficient literacy capability, 4 students (20%) have a deficient capability, meanwhile 7 students (seven) (35%) have a lower rate in literacy capability. The study from learning Process Document conducted by Mathematics Teacher, finding the result, which is : (1) The attention of the higher order thinking development has been accommodate. The result of this study can be seen in the formulation of objectives learning that accommodate the level of reasoning, the stages of learning accommodate the problem solving process, as well as practice questions and assessments that also accommodate the level of reasoning, (2) Implication of context in presenting the problem has been accommodated both in teaching materials and practice questions and tests, (3) the forms of questions/problems in learning and assessment are limited to multiple choice questions and descriptions. Penelitian ini dilakukan di kelas VII SMP Katolik Ambon tahun ajaran 2020/2021 pada bulan februari sampai bulan maret 2021. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik tes dan wawancara. Instrumen penelitian adalah peneliti, lembar tes, pedoman wawancara. Data hasil tes dianalisis untuk mengetahui jenis–jenis kesalahan yang digunakan juga sebagai dasar pemilihan subjek untuk diwawancarai yaitu 6 peserta didik. Data hasil wawancara digunakan sebagai pembanding data hasil tes dan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan siswa membuat kesalahan. Analisa data dilakukan melalui langkah-langkah reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh adalah kesalahan-kesalahan yang dilakukan peserta didik dalam menyelesaikan soal tipe High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) pada materi bentuk aljabar ditinjau dari objek matematika yaitu kesalahan fakta, kesalahan konsep, kesalahan prinsip dan kesalahan operasi.
