At the same time, the government launched a merdeka belajar (freedom to learn) program. Therefore, activities that support Arabic learning are needed. This article aimed to describe the tutors' and students' activities to improve the student’s Arabic skills at UIN Antasari Banjarmasin from freedom to learn perspective. A descriptive qualitative method was used by collecting data using a survey towards students, and interviews with tutors and Language Development Unit (UPB) staff. The results of this study described tutors' and students' activities in online Arabic learning. Tutors' activities are described by the personality of tutors, teaching materials, media, methods, and learning motivation. The students' activities are described by the process of online Arabic learning and the efforts made to improve their Arabic skills. While teaching and learning programmes are the input, learners’ achievements are the output. However, some specific models have been found to be more effective and evaluated more than others. It is noted that of all the components of language pedagogical models, the specific language learning strategies employed have received less attention. Teachers can take advantage of the features in this application to identify vocabularies commonly used in the world of tourism. These features are word frequency, concordance, collocation, and N-Gram. First, the procurement stage, such as the process of writing, obtaining texts, evaluating, and publishing. Second, the distribution stage such as access to textbooks, and purchasing power of textbooks. Third, the stage of the use of books which covers the confusion of teachers in using textbooks and the period of use of school books. The aspects of the evaluation of textbooks will be important in the future. Therefore, this research aims to construct instrumental assessment of arabic teaching books from national and international perspectives. This is important to do as an effort to obtain quality Arabic textbooks with international insight. This research uses a Research and Development (R & D) approach and content analysis. The results of this study show that the Arabic textbook assessment instrument made by the National Education Standards Agency (BSNP) and the American Council on Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) is still lacking because it does not accommodate all the points and basic elements contained in a Arabic textbooks as a Foreign language. This research was aimed to study the characteristics of the teaching materials in Imlâ’ and find out its effectiveness for enhancing writing skill. The research used Research & Development (R&D) methodology, and used four research instruments to collect the data: interviews, questionnaires, tests, and documents for collecting data. In analyzing data, Paired Sample t-Test was used.   The procedures started from the literature review, planning, design, validity and experiment to the students. Among the most important results of this research is the presence of teaching materials in the form of a textbook. Its validity is good grade, with a percentage score of 86.4%, meaning that the designed materials can be used with little modification and correction. As for its effectiveness, the researcher studied that Sig. (2-tailed) result is (0,000) < (less than) (0,005). This research explored Arabic language teaching at the Integrated Islamic Elementary Schools in Solo Raya with different integrative system backgrounds. It aimed to answer how the language was taught and learned in Integrated Islamic Elementary Schools in Solo Raya and the learning process from Hector Hammerly's perspective. This research was a field research model with a case study approach under the constructivist research paradigm. The results show that the Arabic language is taught depending on the need in Integrated Islamic Elementary Schools in Solo Raya, and it follows the curriculum of each school. The Hector Hammerly perspective in Arabic language teaching applies cognitive, collaborative, natural, and communicative approaches. The research objectives were to portray the material of teaching Arabic written in class ten at Islamic senior high school and design a model of enrichment material graded and used independently for the students who graduated from public junior high schools. The study showed that the students who graduated from public junior high school and continued study to Islamic senior high school must be assisted by an enrichment material for their independent study because the existing material did not match their previous knowledge. In this research, a model of teaching material was designed based on three characteristics; first, readability is the main character of supporting teaching material. Secondly, grammar and daily culture made it easier to grab meaning and were thirdly graded and comprehensive. {"title":"ARABIC DISCOURSE MARKERS IN AL-JAZEERA.NET NEWS ARTICLE","authors":"Nuradlina Binti Khairudin, Maizura Mohd Noor, Ghazali Yusri Abd Rahman","doi":"10.15408/a.v7i2.17868","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.15408/a.v7i2.17868","url":null,"abstract":"This study investigates discourse markers (DMs) development and diversity in accordance with the Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) approach employed in online news articles. 867 football news articles were downloaded from Al-Jazeera.net to analyse the use of discourse markers (DMs) based on previous studies along with Modern Standard Arabic grammar books as well as the theories of Fraser (2005) and Al-Khawaldeh (2014). Both data coding and analysis were completed manually. The results showed that in linking textual fragments, discourse markers under the Additive category are the most frequently used within all the articles. In fact, the study also found that DM wa was most frequently used in articles compared to other discourse markers. For each category, the researcher discovered a set of new discourse markers that were not considered in previous works. The manual coding process has also led to the discovery of a new category – Affirmative, with a comprehensive list of discourse markers. This research was a case study with a qualitative approach. The data were collected by interview, documentation, and observation. The results revealed that students who took part in the selection were classified based on their interests or skills through interviews and tests conducted by the selection team. However, the selection team experienced 2 obstacles: 1) time constraints during the selection process, 2) obstacles after the recruitment process. The first obstacle was when some students did not know what interests they have and the second one was when the members lost their motivation and commitment to learn. These obstacles affect other members and the learning process in the Arabic language student association. Therefore, the right recruitment process will attract more members that meet the qualifications and influence the student association. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The author takes data from Munir Muhammad Kholil Nida's dissertation (1980), and other references related to the title of the discussion. Among the results of this study, it is known that Munir mentioned important names who are considered the pioneers of Balaghah reform in modern times, including: Ahmad Badawi, Mustafa Amin and Ali Jarim, Abdul Aziz Basyari, Anis Al-Maqdisi, Ali Al-Umari, Abdu Ar-Razaq Muhyiddin, Amin Al-Khuli, and Ahmad As-Syaib. And the most important pioneers of reform among them were Amin Al-Khuli and Ahmad As-Syaib. Because both of them made a special book on the principles of their renewal ideas.
