This paper considers various operating conditions that may cause significant GS load throw and load-shedding that entails disconnecting and subsequent consumer power outage. Analysis reveals which GTU/GPU design features may result in damage and/or outage if the unit is exposed to external disturbances in the adjacent grid. It also demonstrates the efficiency of comprehensive solutions that use energy storage and variable-frequency motor-based drives to prevent GS damage and/or outage. Besides, the paper substantiates the need of, and proposes DG GS maneuverability requirements for more efficient use.","PeriodicalId":285590,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference on Industrial Engineering, Applications and Manufacturing (ICIEAM)","volume":"162 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123760759","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is due to the possibility of creating switched reluctance motors with better technical characteristics as compared to other types of electric motors currently in use, in particular, with higher efficiency values. The methods of addressing the challenge of increasing the efficiency of switched reluctance motors have been described in a number of publications. In particular, they note that the use of energy-saving algorithms to control the processes of winding switching, ensuring small electrical losses is one of the methods for increase in efficiency of switched reluctance motors. However, these publications consider switched reluctance motor as an isolated controlled object. This circumstance does not allow estimating the impact of implemented switched reluctance motor control algorithms on the main quality characteristics of speed switched reluctance servo drives as closed dynamic control systems, in particular, on speed switched reluctance servo drive speed error. It should be noted that, when solving any issues related to switched reluctance motor control, the level of pulsations of electromagnetic moment of switched reluctance motor is the important indicator of control algorithms efficiency. In view of the above, the relevant task is that of determination of energy-saving switched reluctance motor control algorithm, which operates as part of speed switched reluctance servo drive, ensuring a small speed error under two additional conditions: small electrical losses and small pulsations of electromagnetic. The article presents the results of solving this task and the evaluation of efficiency of the suggested energy-saving speed switched reluctance servo drive control algorithm by means of simulation modeling.","PeriodicalId":285590,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference on Industrial Engineering, Applications and Manufacturing (ICIEAM)","volume":"306 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115865112","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An inertial navigation system and a star sensor are taken as the main navigation systems. The algorithm of guaranteed evaluation when combining the information of the inertial navigation system and the star sensor is proposed. When solving the problem of evaluation with the help of the minimal filter, the construction of the information set, which is guaranteed to contain the true state of the system, is a computationally difficult task for large dimensional systems. Therefore, instead of the exact construction of information sets, their approximate value is used, that is approximation in the form of convex polyhedron, received by approximation from above of \"exact\" but set implicitly by the system of linear equations and inequalities of the information set. The result of guaranteed evaluation is compared with the result of evaluation by the Kalman filter.","PeriodicalId":285590,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference on Industrial Engineering, Applications and Manufacturing (ICIEAM)","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127138537","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Energy saving methods are considered for a specific duty cycle. The tentative assessment of flywheel effectiveness is made. The calculation of loss components in electric motors of the rolling mill electric drive is shown. The dependences of the total losses of the electric drive on the values of moment of inertia are obtained. It is shown that the implemented flywheel system could provide the reduction of energy losses in case of heavy load chart. The averaged dependences of electrical and mechanical losses in electric motors as a function of the moment of inertia were used for analysis.","PeriodicalId":285590,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference on Industrial Engineering, Applications and Manufacturing (ICIEAM)","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125296316","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The authors consider the structure of electric power systems, including the energy conversion and transmission, balancing the energy flows according to the solar and wind energy potentials and consumer needs. The paper describes simulation models of solar and wind energy sources, based on the application of the periodical functions that allow simulation of daily and yearly changes of available energy. The authors introduce the simulation models of the photovoltaic cell and battery storage based on empirical dependences, approximated by the mathematical functions. The simulation model of the hybrid renewable energy system was verified with different input data; the results of testing the model proved its validity and correct behavior for considered conditions. The simulation model is implemented in the MATLAB/Simulink software and can be easily adopted for any different parameters.","PeriodicalId":285590,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference on Industrial Engineering, Applications and Manufacturing (ICIEAM)","volume":"166 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121398920","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

About 60-70% of power interruptions occur in these networks. Based on a general analysis of technological violations associated with emergencies, the article presents the statistics for five years on the breakage of phase wires of overhead lines. A break is one of the most dangerous injuries that pose a serious danger to people and animals as well as lead to fire hazardous situations. The causes of wire breakage of 10 kV overhead lines, the frequency of their occurrence are considered in detail. The influence of climatic (season of the year, adverse weather conditions, thunderstorms, ice rains, etc.) and other (non-compliance with operating requirements, deterioration of materials and structures, unauthorized actions, etc.) factors on the possibility of wire breaks is shown. The characteristic accidents with people caused by touching broken wires are described.","PeriodicalId":285590,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference on Industrial Engineering, Applications and Manufacturing (ICIEAM)","volume":"64 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127447991","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Securing Interaction Between Human and Robot Using Expert Control System 利用专家控制系统保障人与机器人的交互

{"title":"Securing Interaction Between Human and Robot Using Expert Control System","authors":"A. Dolganov, K. Letnev","doi":"10.1109/ICIEAM48468.2020.9111989","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/ICIEAM48468.2020.9111989","url":null,"abstract":"Ensuring safety while using robots in their interaction with humans is one of the main principles of robotics. An expert control system for a robot would be based on the knowledge about such tools, which could help to solve applied problems in that field, where the robot is supposed to be used by humans. Such a system should also include expert, heuristic knowledge on communicative relations of the «human-robot» type. Those relations affect the selection, made by the robot of such problem-solving tools, which would be safe for humans. Thus, the knowledge on communicative relations determines the knowledge on problem-solving tools. Therefore, the application of an expert system for the purposes of robot control should provide a higher safety than a neural network system based on the procedure of machine learning. The goal of this research is to develop such a component of the expert control system, which would exclude the possibility of a robot causing health and life damage to a human. The method of achieving this goal consists of integrating a phenomenon of self-organization, inherent to a collective control subject within intersubjective «human-robot» relations, into production rules of the robot knowledge base. The knowledge base of the expert robot-control system should include the knowledge about equivalence of communicative relations between humans and robots. The research results in such a concept model of that component in the knowledge base of the expert robot-control system which would enable both the mechanism of feedback between a subject and an object of the control and the safety of managing such a complex intellectual technical system as a robot. The study is interdisciplinary by its nature and unites several approaches from the fields of cybernetics, synergetics, artificial intelligence, the logic of relations and gnosiology. The research concludes that an expert robot-control system, based on self-organization, provides safe cooperation between robots and humans.","PeriodicalId":285590,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference on Industrial Engineering, Applications and Manufacturing (ICIEAM)","volume":"72 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129188827","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For example, the greatest load per hour of intensive traffic in the presence of increased weight trains can exceed the average daily load by 2-3 times or even more. Ambient temperature also varies widely. When designing traction substations, the transformer rated power level is selected lower than the maximum daily or hourly power to ensure its best use, taking into account its overload at various time periods. A condition for systematic overloads and increased load is the preservation of the transformer insulation standard service life. Under the influence of temperature and a number of other factors, the physicochemical properties of solid insulation undergo changes over time, which causes the insulation brittleness. During the irreversible process of aging, the electrical strength of the insulation almost does not decrease, but after a certain time, it becomes unable to withstand mechanical stresses from vibrations or short circuits. The aging rate depends on temperature, and the achieved degree of aging depends on the temperature and time of exposure. Moisture, atmospheric oxygen, and other factors also affect the rate and achieved degree of aging of insulation, the strict accounting of which is not possible. The transformer effective service life is largely dependent on impacts such as overvoltages, short circuits in the network and emergency overloads. The load and/or temperature of the cooling medium exceeding the rated values cause accelerated wear of the transformer and are the main risk factors.","PeriodicalId":285590,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference on Industrial Engineering, Applications and Manufacturing (ICIEAM)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130349261","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
