That is why there is a need of hiring more employees. Calculating salaries of many employees requires a lot of work and chances of occurring errors also increase. Automatic Payroll Processing System (APPS) simplifies the work by reducing errors and saving the time. In this paper, we present a Non-Deterministic Finite Automata (NFA) based on formal model that is an effective approach for describing behavior of systems. Our algorithm presented in this paper depicts the processing of APPS and then it is verifies the system using formal methods which are mathematical statements providing reliable and accurate systems. VDM-SL is used for validating and verification of the system which provides a detailed level examination.","PeriodicalId":285090,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Emerging Technologies (ICET)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121782430","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper investigates various antennas of different types for their suitability as a basic radiating element for a Phased Array application. This comparative study takes into account the radiation characteristics, gain, feeding mechanism, polarization, bandwidth and size of the radiating structures that makes them a good candidate for the phased array radar applications. In order to devise a valid method for selecting antenna element, nine popular antenna elements were identified which exhibit similar gain in planar configuration. A reference criterion is formulated to best describe the characteristics of the desired antenna element for ground based phased array radar. Finally, after an extensive literature review, a comparative performance matrix is generated based on their performance as reported by the researchers in well reputed publications. This matrix can serve as a quick reference guide in selection of appropriate antenna element in developing a high gain antenna array for the given application.","PeriodicalId":285090,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Emerging Technologies (ICET)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129256561","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Yield mounts/isolators are used to isolate the propagation of such shocks from source to target. “J-mount” is an example of yield mounts. In this research, shock absorbing performance of a “J-mount” type “3A” is evaluated using Finite element analysis (FEA). Explicit Dynamics module of ANSYS was used to perform FEA. Shock inputs ranging from 40-160 g were applied to “J-mount.” As a result, Von Mises stresses, total deformation, shock transmitted and efficiency of “J-mount” were plotted for the whole range of shock loading. It was found that maximum efficiency of “3A” type “J-mount” occurs at a shock value of 100g and it failed to damp shock when shock value becomes 160g.","PeriodicalId":285090,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Emerging Technologies (ICET)","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129715895","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It has been shown that the designed antenna can handle Giga Watt (GW) power without attaining breakdown. The flash-over which usually occurs at the interface of HPM antennas, where microwave leaves and enters into the air, was controlled by adjusting the field intensity at the output window of the antenna. It has been shown that by adopting Gaussian beam distribution at the aperture of horn with appropriate beam waist, the E-field intensity at the output window can be reduced significantly. It has also been demonstrated that an HPM antenna with 0.4 m aperture radius can sustain >30 GW power for a pulse duration of 1ns and the same is reduced to <;5 GW for the pulse having duration > 1μs.","PeriodicalId":285090,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Emerging Technologies (ICET)","volume":"157 12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128781635","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Small field electron dosimetry is necessary to perform prior to the treatment to assure the accuracy of the dose delivery. The main objectives of this work is to acquire small field electron dosimetric data with narrow circular cutouts and to develop the graphical user interface on the basis of this acquired data to extract desired field parameters from the data. Results show that as the cutout size become smaller, percentage depth dose shifts towards surface due to the lack of lateral scatter equilibrium. Thus surface dose is increased i.e. the depth of maximum dose (dmax) is reduced. Similarly the depth of 90% isodose level is decreased as well as the range (i.e. R50 and Rp). Whereas the x-ray contamination is increased with decrease in cutout diameter, field size coverage for 90% isodose curve and the relative output factor is decreased. Results of the radiochromic films were not up to expectations because of the existence of air pockets as the acquisition was performed with solid water phantom slabs. It is, therefore, suggested to use these films in real water. Based on experimental data, GUI enables us to find treatment parameters i.e. energy, cutout dimension, margins, bolus thickness, monitor units etc.","PeriodicalId":285090,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Emerging Technologies (ICET)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116881688","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Considering the difficulty of mathematical modeling and the availability of massive process data, the so-called data-driven methods gain advantage over model-based ones. Therefore, it is promising and significant to design efficient data-driven health monitoring schemes for particular industrial conditions. In this talk, three circumstances, i.e. stationary operating conditions, dynamic processes and large-scale processes involving changes, are investigated respectively. Correspondingly, the modifications of the standard multivariate statistical approaches, the advanced schemes based on the identification of key components and a novel data-driven adaptive scheme are proposed, which all provide enhanced health monitoring performance.","PeriodicalId":285090,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Emerging Technologies (ICET)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128078929","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper is about the modeling and simulation of air ventilated dry storage cask used for long term storage of spent fuel assemblies from pressurized water reactors. A two-dimensional axis-symmetric model is generated for the actual cask geometry in order to simulate the thermal hydraulic behavior of the cask. The effects of natural circulation along with conjugate heat transfer have been taken into account within the numerical modeling scheme. Result obtained from the generated model is verified through comparison with data available in the literature. The model is then utilized to predict the cask response when loaded with spent fuel assemblies from Chashma nuclear power plant located in Pakistan.","PeriodicalId":285090,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Emerging Technologies (ICET)","volume":"2005 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128305481","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Pakistan is developing country and is facing energy crisis since past. Pakistan has been blessed with natural resources but they did not utilize these resources. Currently power generation is not enough to meet the power needs and as a result there is huge gap between demand and supply in energy sectors. The demand of energy exceeds the supply especially in summer and it is high as compared to supply due to huge population Pakistan has shortage of fossil fuel resources and their economy is poor they import oil from different countries. Poor economy does not allow the import of fossil fuel on wide scale. Moreover, Pakistan imported too much oil which influences the economy and oil imported is critical from energy security point of view. A large of the population lives in isolated areas and still they are waiting to be connecting to the national electricity grid. The purpose of this research is to analyze the cost of wind energy and data is collected from different articles, journals from 2000- 2030. Pakistan needs to establish more projects on wind energy and provide excellent energy at 1000 km long coastline in south and at north places. This great potential would exploit to produce electricity on community and wind farm scales. It is concluded that in future Pakistan's energy demand will increase and their supply will decrease in every year and in this way their GDP will be go down.","PeriodicalId":285090,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Emerging Technologies (ICET)","volume":"463 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132935771","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In CMLIs, output is controlled through switching angles of cascaded stages resulting in the fundamental component and total harmonic distortion (THD) being functions of the switching angles. So, control of CMLIs requires optimal selection of the switching angles to set the fundamental harmonic to a specific value (or equivalently for specific modulation index `m') while minimizing THD. This paper proposes a novel formulation of the problem as a multidimensional optimization problem and then solves it using Genetic Algorithm. The results show that the proposed novel objective function successfully finds unique solutions for the whole range of m while minimizing THD well below than that was achieved previously by selective harmonic elimination (SHE). It is also shown that even a 3-stage CMLI meets IEEE-519 standards for 0.74<;m<;0.83 and 0.85<;m<;0.96 for low voltage application (<;1kV) which was not reported previously because of poor problem formulation as SHE.","PeriodicalId":285090,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Emerging Technologies (ICET)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133252792","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
