Reading some books, submitting assignments, finishing some projects, doing oral presentations, taking final exams, and writing a thesis are numerous requirements that must be completed before they are awarded a degree. There are students who are able to cope with those challenges easily, but some of them have to struggle due to some serious cases they have, such as: communication anxiety, family related issue, lack of self-confident, bullying, etc. Those problems may increase the level of self-discomfort which then affect their academic performance. In order to help those students in facing their problem, Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique (S-EFT) was applied. S-EFT is performed to ensure the energy flows smoothly in the body by tapping certain points of acupuncture. When the energy is balance, the biochemical system in the body will be influenced as well. While this process occurred, the therapist also reads the affirmation sentence to help the client release the stress and decrease self-discomfort. In this condition, usually, the brain wave is at alpha, so the affirmations will be accepted by the unconscious mind and level of sincerity (ikhlaṣ) could be achieved. Subjective Unit of Discomfort Scale (SUDS) was carried out during the period for evaluating the progress of the therapy.","PeriodicalId":284737,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 1st International Conference on Psychology","volume":"87 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115639160","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Users also have the freedom of choice to use both anonymous and non-anonymous identities on their accounts so that any information disclosed has minimal consequences and risks. The purpose of this research is to determine the differences of self-disclosure on social network users with anonymous and non-anonymous identities using quantitative approach with comparative research method. A total of 150 social network users with anonymous identities and 150 users with non-anonymous identity (N=300) aged 18-34 years were sampled and selected using non-probability sampling method through purposive sampling technique. The research data were collected using the Revised Self-Disclosure Scale (RSDS) developed by Wheeless in 1978. The result of the analysis using independent sample t-test showed p=0,034 (p<0,05), so it can be concluded that there is the differences of self-disclosure on social media users with anonymous and non-anonymous identities, in which anonymous identity users more disclose than non-anonymous identity users and female subjects with anonymous identity have higher self-disclosure than males. In addition, younger social network users reveal more personal information than older users.","PeriodicalId":284737,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 1st International Conference on Psychology","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126116956","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Students are trained to speak in public in order to present their project in front of the class, give opinions in the forum, give instructions to many people, etc. Unfortunately, in several occasions, there are students who showed some anxiety symptoms such as sweating, tension, trembling, nervousness, and pale face. In this study, we aimed to explore the level of public speaking anxiety on 97 students (54 psychology students, and 43 medical students). Data were collected with PRPSA (Personal Report of Public Speaking Anxiety) to identify the categories of public speaking anxiety. It was known that 47.4% of students had low public speaking anxiety, 48.5% in moderate category of public speaking anxiety, and only 4.1% in the high category of public speaking anxiety. Then, 54 pscyhology students were investigated of their public speaking anxiety based on listener’s characteristic. Result showed that there was the difference of public speaking anxiety based on listener’s characteristic on psychology students, the students who spoke in front of the listeners with higher educational level were more anxious than those who spoke in front of the listeners with lower educational level.","PeriodicalId":284737,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 1st International Conference on Psychology","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131415861","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Emotional abuse affects the type of attachment and coping that is used by individuals to solve and deal with problems. This study aims to determine the relationship between attachment and coping in adults who experience emotional abuse. The correlational method which is a quantitative type of research with adult samples aged 18-40 years, experiencing emotional abuse, domiciled in Banda Aceh, and the incidental sampling sampling technique (n=77) was used in this study. Attachment was measured using the Relationship Style Questionnaire (RSQ) and coping was measured using the Brief COPE. Data analysis using The Pearson correlation technique showed there was a relationship between attachment and coping (r = 0.47, p <0.05) in adults who experienced emotional abuse. The results showed that the majority of subjects at 76.6% in this study had insecure attachment and had an adaptive type of coping. On another hand, there are subjects with secure attachment but had a type of maladaptive coping as much as 44.6%. Furthermore, the results of the study also discussed the correlation of each type of attachment with coping in details.","PeriodicalId":284737,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 1st International Conference on Psychology","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133871963","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
