At present, the theme of inventory management about several orders and permissible shortage is a popular. These papers are generally used the stationary policy. The economic ordering quantity in inventory management is a well-known stationary ordering policy. In this thesis, an inventory model with many orders and permissible shortage is established. Then, an approach based on Lagrange Multiplier Method is used to prove that the stationary ordering policy is the optimal ordering policy, and attain the optimal ordering number and quantity. At last, the numerical examples are given to verify the validity of the model.","PeriodicalId":280476,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Management Science & Engineering 18th Annual Conference Proceedings","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-11-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129319601","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With the world now coming into an age called “knowledge economy”, it is necessary to analyze the industry level and knowledge-intensity in different industries, furthermore, analyze how those reflect the industrial structure and ultimately the entire economy. With respect to knowledge-based innovation theory, principle component analysis is to be used, while a number of possibly correlated knowledge measures are transformed into a smaller number which can be used to identify different industries with different knowledge intensity. The data from China's manufacturing industries in recent 5 years shows the developing paths of those industries. The empirical results show that although knowledge-intensity-based classification of China's manufacturing industry is similar to those of foreign countries, many industries are much less developed and even lagged far behind. China's industrial structure still needs to be perfected.","PeriodicalId":280476,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Management Science & Engineering 18th Annual Conference Proceedings","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-11-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116347782","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Over the last four decades, research on the relationship between boards of directors and strategy has proliferated. Ye t to date there is little theoretical and empirical study regarding the question of how board information affects the boards of directors' strategic involvement. Using a survey data from 104 responses of chairpersons collected in the year of 2010 in China, we examine how board information affects boards' behaviors of strategic involvement. Our study shows that quality of information, information diversity, frequency of board interaction, and proactive seeking information positively influence boards' strategy monitoring and advisory. These findings provide empirical support for agency theory and resource dependence theory on boards.","PeriodicalId":280476,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Management Science & Engineering 18th Annual Conference Proceedings","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-11-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116892518","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper firstly makes a comparison of the authorization and surviving time of China's environmental and non-environmental patents. Then it compares the technical complexity of them with patent classification number. After the comparison, we found that both the quality level and the technical level of China's environmental patent are lower than that of its adjacent non-environmental patent technology. This paper analyzes the major reason is that not all sectors of the society with government as the main body have paid enough attention to the research and development of environmental patents for a long time. However, owing to bounded ethicality, outcome bias may occur in their judgment, which will affect the supplier ethical management. Two-factor-mixed design, a method of cognitive psychology experimental research, is adopted to create three types of unethical behavior scenario with each behavior further classified into that of “positive outcome” and that of “negative outcome”. And with so designed an experiment, the influence of outcome information and the types of the behavior on the supplier ethical judgment and management is studied. An analysis of variance shows that the main effect of outcome information and the behavior type on ethical judgment and management are significant and a regression analysis indicates that the mediating effect of ethical judgment on the relationship between outcome information and ethical management is also significant.","PeriodicalId":280476,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Management Science & Engineering 18th Annual Conference Proceedings","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-11-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126836810","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It can, to some extent, promote the optimization of woodland element and labor force; this paper also finds that the woodland production in China has now a certain degree of scale economy, and woodland is still partially responsible for the livelihood of rural households. This paper proposes a structural equation modeling using AMOS to evaluate the relationship between manufacturing and marketing integration, combinative competitive capabilities and business performance. Data were collected from 199 manufacturing firms of various size, location, and industry to develop the instrument and test the relationships in the framework. The results show that two of the three hypothesized direct effects are significant at the 0.01 level. Manufacturing and marketing integration positively influences combinative competitive capabilities and combinative competitive capabilities positively influence business performance. Contrary to conventional wisdom, the influence of manufacturing and marketing integration on business performance is partially confirmed because of the insignificant statistics.","PeriodicalId":280476,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Management Science & Engineering 18th Annual Conference Proceedings","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-11-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126684581","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
