He was born in village No. 1 of the Karkaraly district of the Berkala volost; in 1924, as an excellent student, he entered the Karkaraly Pedagogical College, and later in 1934, the Kazakh Mining and Metallurgical Institute. A.Zh. Mashanov is one of the founders of geomechanics in the Soviet Union, the founder of Kazakh science fiction. He was one of the first Kazakh engineers-mine surveyors who had the degree of doctor of geological and mineralogical sciences. A.Zh. Mashanov developed and practically applied a new method for studying the structure of ore fields, which was subsequently applied in studying the structure of the vast majority of mineral deposits and the geological structure of individual regions. On the basis of archival documents and memoirs of students, many of which are introduced into scientific circulation for the first time, the authors consider the scientific and pedagogical activity of A.Zh. Mashanov, his great contribution to the development of a new scientific direction in mining, i.e., geomechanics. An extensive research outlook, knowledge of the Arabic language allowed A.Zh. Mashanov to open the great scholar Abu Nasyr Al-Farabi to the world community. A.Zh. Mashanov in his works was able to prove that the main primary source of science in Kazakhstan were the works of Al-Farabi. {"title":"Overcoming cultural trauma through re-invention of the historical agency of the Kazakh nomadic culture in the works of Olzhas Suleimenov in the 1960s","authors":"Krupko I.V., Ashimova S.A.","doi":"10.31489/2022hph4/98-109","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.31489/2022hph4/98-109","url":null,"abstract":"The article is devoted to the reflection on the historiosophical works of the Kazakh poet of the sixties Olzhas Suleimenov, the key plot for the Kazakhs to acquire multiple identities and historical subjectivity in the 20th century: the loss of the nomadic way of life, the museumified play of symbols of nomadic existence from the point of its no return (urban chronotope of sedentarized nomadic culture), the reception of historical memory of the post-nomads of the heritage of the medieval urban culture of Central Asia, the dialogue of the new historical subjectivity with the world culture (inscribing the national into the planetary) and the reinvention of its images, seen by the Kazakh intelligentsia in the reflections of ancient history. The studied literary and historiosophical material make it possible to comprehend the issue of the correlation between nomadic and sedentary in the historical memory of Kazakhstani society and the presence of a cultural trauma of “non-historicality” here, overcome in the second half of the 20th century. The factors that formed this cultural trauma include 1) the interruption of nomadic culture as a result of forced collectivization and sedentarization of the 1920s -1930s; 2) the historiographic tradition of describing nomadic culture as regressive and its perception by the Kazakh national intelligentsia in the 1960s and 1970s through the dominant historical narrative. As a result, it was understood that in kurgans, individuals were buried in the pit (grave)opened in the first place, as well as in the kurgan pile over time, on the main ground beneath this pile or in the pit grave. The main burial is not found in the pile. As a matter of fact, it is possible to encounter both a main burial and a secondary burial on the ground. Therefore, to better express the secondary burials on the ground, they were evaluated in an integrated manner with the main burials on the ground. In the publications made to date, this subject has received neither detailed consideration nor semantic evaluation. In the article, excava- tion reports, books and articles related to archaeological studies carried out in Western Kazakhstan were examined. In these sources, secondary burials to the pile, the main floor and the pit grave were identified.Chronological determinations have been made about the location of these burials and also compared with similar burials around Orenburg, Bashkortostan, the Volga, Don rivers. Data on the history of the early nomads and the areas of their geographical location originate in the works of ancient authors. In particular, the Greek historian Herodotus in his History writes that the Sarmatian tribes inhabited the lands adjacent to the eastern border of Scythia. In general, ancient literature presents valuable information about the tribes of the Sauromat-Sarmatians, corresponding to the topic we have chosen. Nevertheless, the ancient tribes that lived in the Ural steppes in the early Iron Age remained unexplored for a long time. Only since the 19th-20th centuries, this problem begins to attract the attention of researchers. During this time, scientists such as F.D. Nefedov, I.A. Castanye, M.I. Rostovtsev, B.N. Grakov, P.S. Rykov, M.K. Kadyrbaev, and others carried out archaeological excavations of sites of Sauromat-Sarmatian culture and made great changes in the study of it. The aim of the research is to generalize scientific knowledge and theories that reveal the category of legal reality. With the help of general and special research methods analysis and generalization of scientific material is carried out, consideration of various approaches to legal reality in order to identify the main features and constituent elements of this category. The points of view and scientific positions of philosophers and legal theorists in the field of researching the legal reality problems are analyzed and compared. The categories of «legal reality», «legal life», «legal system» as phenomena of social reality interacting with each other and constituting the broadest philosophical and legal category of «legal reality» are considered. The result of the research is the consideration of legal reality as the most general category, which includes the entire spectrum of legal phenomena occurring in social life. The legal reality research is considered to be the basic requirement of modern humanitarian science, which aims to ensure the most complete the human personality development in harmony with public interests and needs, the most important of which are mediated through law and legislation. The main determining the right reality problems are highlighted, which are due to a wide range of the phenomenon under consideration, a large constituent elements number, a different law understanding and the elements included in this category.
