Every year, people in the Philippines are increasingly using vehicles especially motorcycles as their common means of transportation. Together with the increase of motorcycle users, motorcycle theft is also rampant over the years. In this study, a system had been developed for theft prevention and recovery of motorcycle in an easier and faster way. The user of this system will be notified through an alert once the motorcycle has been moved in a long distance or stolen. The user also could view the current location of the motorcycle, shutdown the engine and capture an image of the thief. The system has two components, the hardware and the software modules. The hardware component includes micro-controller, GSM, GPS, and a camera. The software component is the mobile application, which is the medium of communication of the user to the motorcycle and also serve as the main controller of the entire system. Based on the evaluation conducted in terms of usability and functionality it had been found out that most of the users strongly agreed the usefulness of the system.","PeriodicalId":273911,"journal":{"name":"2017 14th International Conference on Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ECTI-CON)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121787663","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, the water level monitoring telemetry stations have been designed and invented to keep tracking of the river water level. However, there is no electric power supply and no wired communication in the upstream river region. The telemetry station should be designed to cope with these challenges. This paper proposed a self adaptive telemetry station, SATS, that can automatically adjust its operation mode to the environmental conditions. An automatic environmental condition learning and evaluation mechanism, Auto-ELE, is also proposed in this paper. The proposed mechanism adaptively adjusts the telemetry station operation against the water level changes. The simulation results show that the proposed mechanism yields to reduce the battery utilization and keep accuracy of the data measurement.","PeriodicalId":273911,"journal":{"name":"2017 14th International Conference on Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ECTI-CON)","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121265529","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The error of TEC accuracy suffers seriously from the GPS instrumental biases, including satellite bias and receiver bias. In this paper, we apply the singular value decomposition (SVD) to derive TEC, GPS satellite and receiver biases from the 11 GPS receiver stations in Thailand, which are operated by DPT. From the results, the daily satellite bias range between −8 ns and 10 ns. The estimated receiver bias varies from −5.03 ns to 1.88 ns. The biases in TEC are removed. The TEC estimation by SVD method is a good agreement level at each locations. The TEC of SVD estimation is compared with a TEC of general calculation by a GPS receiver from DPT9. The estimated TEC by SVD method at Bangkok area is used. The trend of both TEC are concurrence. Thus, the SVD method can be used to estimate the TEC, GPS satellite and receiver biases in Thailand area.","PeriodicalId":273911,"journal":{"name":"2017 14th International Conference on Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ECTI-CON)","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127686416","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In HetNets concept, many of small base stations (SBSs) are employed in the existing cell of macro base stations (MBSs) to increase the coverage and system capacity. However, the employment of many SBSs in the existing macro cells would causes the increase in power consumption with decreasing the energy efficiency in downlink cellular networks. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a cell throughput based sleep control scheme for the SBSs in HetNets. In the proposed scheme, the cell capacity ratio for the SBSs is employed as decision criteria to put the SBSs into sleep state. From various simulation results, the proposed scheme can achieve better energy efficiency and better system throughput than the conventional schemes.","PeriodicalId":273911,"journal":{"name":"2017 14th International Conference on Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ECTI-CON)","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134335311","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, PCTs have a narrow operational region and sensitive to load variation. This paper presents the operational region of a class E resonant inverter for extending the PCT operational range. The class E resonant inverter is operated at the suboptimum mode to minimize switching losses of the power switch. The power switch operates the zero voltage switching (ZVS) operation by using the presented condition. Simulation result shows that the frequency response of the class E resonant inverter with the PCT and operational region, compare a current and voltage output at the operational frequency (fm) and resonant frequency (fr) of the class E resonant inverter. Finally, the presented system is verified by experimental result. The PCT can generate the ultrasonic wave for the ultrasonic cleaner at the operational region. The class E resonant inverter works on ZVS operation while the operated duty cycle is regulated.","PeriodicalId":273911,"journal":{"name":"2017 14th International Conference on Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ECTI-CON)","volume":"2014 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114770667","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

During the wall-following task, the CFLC inputs measure the distance between the ultrasonic sensors and the wall, and the outputs of the CFLC are the robot's left-wheel and right-wheel speeds. A cost function is defined to evaluate the performance of the CFLC in the wall-following task. The cost function includes three control factors (CF) which are defined as follows: maintaining a user-defined robot-wall distance, avoiding robot-wall collision, and ensuring that the robot can successfully negotiate the venue. The original artificial bee colony algorithm (ABC) simulates the intelligent foraging behavior of honey-bee swarms, which are good at exploration but poor at exploitation. An improved ABC algorithm, the IABC algorithm, is proposed that adopts the mutation strategies of differential evolution to balance exploration and exploitation. The IABC algorithm applies a new reward-based roulette wheel selection where an obtained a better solution by gains a reward during the learning stage. To demonstrate the performance of the IABC designed CFLC, the method was compared with other population-based algorithms with respect to the efficiency of the wall-following task.","PeriodicalId":273911,"journal":{"name":"2017 14th International Conference on Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ECTI-CON)","volume":"49 22","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"113974277","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
