This proposed approach combines with two algorithms, so called the NN-GA, which are the Neural Network (NN) and the Genetic algorithm(GA). To show the effectiveness of the designed approach, the simulation results are then given. In addition, the simulation results are analyzed by examining the transient responses and comparing the performance of self-tuning with the pure GA and the pure NN. The evaluated criterions of analysis and comparison performance are the maximum overshoot, the steady state error, the rise time and the settling time. From the simulation results, the NN-GA has significantly given the better results than the pure GA and the pure NN.","PeriodicalId":273911,"journal":{"name":"2017 14th International Conference on Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ECTI-CON)","volume":"58 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132423798","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The synthesis was conducted for 180 h with annealing under hydrogen atmosphere every 60 h to improve the quality of the diamond. Composition of the synthetic diamond was analyzed using energy-dispersive x-ray spectroscopy (EDX). The main composition of the synthetic diamond is boron and carbon, and phosphorous and carbon for boron-doped and phosphorous doped synthetic diamond crystal, respectively. The crystal size and physical characteristics were analyzed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The synthetic diamond as large as 1.56 mm and 1.63 mm was synthesized. In addition, the synthetic diamond was confirmed to be diamond using Raman spectroscopy. The peak at Raman shift of 1332 cm−1 that is the same as the natural diamond was observed. Moreover, electrical properties of the synthetic diamond were compared with intrinsic diamond at similar crystal size. The conductivity of the boron-doped synthetic diamond shown positive side (p-type) and phosphorous-doped synthetic diamond shown negative side (n-type) from the measurement using hot probe. The resistance of the synthetic doped with B2O3 and P2O5 is 5.711 kΩ and 4.570 kΩ, respectively from the measurement using Circuit applied for current and voltage measurement. The resistances measured are significantly lower than intrinsic diamond. Therefore, it can be implied that the conductivity of the synthetic diamond is better than intrinsic diamond.","PeriodicalId":273911,"journal":{"name":"2017 14th International Conference on Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ECTI-CON)","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128857670","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In variable-filter (VF) designs, a few spectral parameters are usually used for tuning the frequency-domain characteristics, and the VF coefficients are expressed as the functions of those parameters. In this paper, we only consider the single parameter case. To guarantee the stability of an odd-order recursive VF, this paper expresses the coefficients in the denominator of the odd-order transfer function as composite functions of the single spectral parameter to constrain the values of the composite functions within the stability triangle of the second-order sections. As a result, the stability of the odd-order recursive VF is always guaranteed whenever the VF coefficients are changed. The proposed stability-triangle-constrained odd-order transfer function lays the foundation of stable odd-order recursive VF design.","PeriodicalId":273911,"journal":{"name":"2017 14th International Conference on Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ECTI-CON)","volume":"104 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126505784","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An increasing portion of energy production from renewables will lead to a drastic change in net demand characteristic on traditional power supplies. If the overall power plants in the system cannot respond to this fluctuating and uncertain demand, it may cause generation demand to be unbalanced and lead to system instability. Therefore, this paper proposes a new power development planning method that considers power plant response to load change. The key factor determining whether a power grid requires a new plant are reliability indexes such as Loss of Load Expectation (LOLE) and Reserved Margin (RM). Then type of power plants suited for different load demand patterns is identified. To illustrate the advantage of the proposed method, new power development plan (PDP) done by the proposed method is then compared to the Thailand's current plan, PDP2015.","PeriodicalId":273911,"journal":{"name":"2017 14th International Conference on Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ECTI-CON)","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116144519","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The net demand can be calculated by subtracting output power of renewable energy generation and non-dispatchable generations from actual electrical demand. Genetic algorithm is employed to determine the optimal set of committed power plants. Not only operating cost is the objective function of the optimization, but also expected outage cost caused by the failures of power plants. Since the outages are random by nature, in order to achieve the minimum total cost it is necessary to include spinning reserve into the optimization. Spinning reserve is a reserve of online power plants used by system operator to respond to load changing and unexpected events such as power plant outages and sudden dropping of output power of renewable energy generations. The results of this paper are the number of committed power plants, spinning reserve and total cost. The numerical simulations show that when more renewable energy generation is installed, amount of required spinning reserve is increased and more power plants are committed.","PeriodicalId":273911,"journal":{"name":"2017 14th International Conference on Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ECTI-CON)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125246479","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
