The test material consisted of mini kiwi fruit (Actinidia arguta) of the ‘Hortgem Thai’ cultivar and kiwi fruit (Actinidia deliciosa) of the ‘Hayward’ cultivar. The carotenoid pigments were determined by the Lichtenthaler method, vitamin C in accordance with PN-A-04019:1998, polyphenols by the Folin-Ciocialteu method and the ability to reduce free radicals using a synthetic DPPH radical. One-way analysis of variance was used to determine the effect of fruit species on the quality traits analysed. The significance of differences between the means was determined using Tukey’s test. Relationships were considered statistically significant at p < 0.05. Correlation coefficients between the antioxidant activity of kiwi fruit and the content of exogenous antioxidants were also determined. The results showed that Actinidia arguta has significantly higher contents of exogenous antioxidants than Actinidia deliciosa. The antioxidant properties of this fruit were also found to be mainly due to its vitamin C content.","PeriodicalId":269306,"journal":{"name":"Scientific Journal of Gdynia Maritime University","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121720421","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Its purpose was to create a universal test stand for testing the parameters of underwater robots’ thrusters. Factors taken into account when constructing the station were, among others, the possibility of cavitation and its impact on the strength of the device's thruster system, as well as noise pollution of the underwater environment. The sensor system in which the dynamometer is equipped will automatically acquire a number of readings that will allow the design of propulsors to be tested taking into account many parameters. The collected data is sent and analysed using microcontrollers and dedicated, custom-written software. The proposed solution will accelerate and automate research work and allow quick modifications of the mathematical model for describing the underwater vehicle propulsion module.","PeriodicalId":269306,"journal":{"name":"Scientific Journal of Gdynia Maritime University","volume":" 28","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141219723","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Two big shipping liners in Indonesia, PT. X and PT. Y, have been dominating sales on the Surabaya-Banjarmasin route. The aim of this study is to know how the liners behave in an oligopoly, making decisions that are profitable for both parties. The agreement on challenge, competition, and cooperation between PT. X and PT. Y in serving shipping services is the main focus in this study. The methodology used is a game theory approach to show the possible strategies in rates and supply competition. The result shows that the agreement between PT. X and PT. Y consisted of price decision and supply quantity. The price decision is rated at a lower price of USD 300/TEU where P = MC which has no incentive. While the agreement on supply quantity is 26.000 TEUs in total. Moreover, the cooperative agreement between the shipping liners is a joint allience which not depend on each capacity ratio.","PeriodicalId":269306,"journal":{"name":"Scientific Journal of Gdynia Maritime University","volume":" 23","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141219553","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of the article was to assess the nutritional behaviour of a selected group of adolescents aged 15–18 based on the example of fat intake as a measure of consumption of unhealthy foods, especially in the case of overconsumption. The study used the method of primary data analysis, critical analysis of the relevant literature, comparative analysis and the method of synthesis and logical inference. The group of adolescents studied (living in Gdynia, Poland) showed quite unhealthy behaviour based on the example of fat intake. According to the authors of the publication, further research monitoring pro-health attitudes and behaviour of young people is useful and justified as we need to know whether it is necessary to take action to promote development of healthier attitudes and hierarchy of health values. In the light of the challenges of the SDGs, hedonistic needs and trends are important, related, amongst other things, to the issues of ensuring good health and greater care for the mental and physical condition of young people and their families.","PeriodicalId":269306,"journal":{"name":"Scientific Journal of Gdynia Maritime University","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123478299","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The coercion to wear protective masks at the beginning of the CoViD-19 pandemic led to significant, unexpected demand for these products. The sudden increase in demand caused an initial lack of availability of the masks for consumers but their supply to the market subsequently increased. At the same time, market surveillance authorities detected a significant number of cases of non-compliance as a result of numerous checks. The impact of the CoViD-19 pandemic on the number and types of notifications for protective masks to the EU’s system for the rapid exchange of information on dangerous non-food products (RAPEX) was examined. Based on the results, the conclusion is that the CoViD-19 pandemic had a significant impact on the number of notifications regarding protective masks. The assumption regarding the country of origin of the notified masks was also confirmed, as the highest number of notifications concerning protective masks originating in China were notified to RAPEX in 2020, 2021 and 2022. Germany and Belgium were the countries giving notifications for these products.","PeriodicalId":269306,"journal":{"name":"Scientific Journal of Gdynia Maritime University","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123910722","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
