{"title":"Oil Affairs in Bahrain during the Reign of Sheikh Salman\u0000bin Hamad's Era (1942-1961): “A Study in Light of British\u0000Documents”","authors":"","doi":"10.51405/19.1.5","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.51405/19.1.5","url":null,"abstract":"This research aims to shed light on oil affairs in the Emirate of Bahrain during the\u0000reign of Sheikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa (1942-1961), based on British documents,\u0000where the research dealt with how oil was discovered, the reasons that led to the\u0000suspension of exploration operations from 1942 to 1945, the most important oil\u0000concessions, the modifications obtained, the establishment of new oil facilities in its\u0000wells, and finally what oil generated from the revenues of the Emirate of Bahrain.\u0000This research concludes that the economic conditions in Bahrain were initially\u0000traditional and simple based on hunting, pearl gathering, trade and agriculture. Then the\u0000Bahraini economy turned upside down after oil was discovered, and its production\u0000increased during the reign of Sheikh Salman bin Hamad, so that the Bahraini economy\u0000turned into rentier production that depends in three quarters of it on oil, which is the sole\u0000source of the Bahraini economy. Moreover, this paper\u0000aims to know the extent of availability of this ancient study of linguistic concepts, which\u0000were considered as one of the innovations of modern linguistic studies in their both\u0000literary and linguistic aspects. This research also attempts to highlight the role of the\u0000active Recipient and its manifestation in the process of discursive communication,\u0000directing the speech, and how the elements of the external context work with the internal ones in achieving the understanding, in general, and the understanding of the recipient, in particular, and in the success of the communicative process between the parties of discourse.The current research concluds, in its extrapolating a set of grammatical provisions in the books of grammatical heritage, that the recipient was present in the minds of ancient grammarians as they were building and directing grammar rules, such as defining or undefining grammatical components, preposing them or postposing and deleting them or mentioning. It deals with applying some theoretical perspectives in heritage and\u0000modern studies. The descriptive analytical method has been followed. The most\u0000important objectives of this research are: the ability to establish governing rules for the\u0000path of intonation degrees, specifying its semantic features, considering it a linguistic\u0000method that is used to interpret the structure and significance issues, and disclosing the seven tasks of intonation. It states some of regulations to measure the intonation degrees, its levels (high, medium or low). It puts some criteria to specify the intonation degrees according to its components. The research includes some intonation vocal\u0000accompaniments which provide some clarifications. The research authenticates the\u0000relationship between the intonation as a tool, the formation as a construction and the\u0000connotations as inspiration. The research focuses on the role of intonation in forming the synthetic sayings and its structure. The research uses some intonation degrees to separate between the Grammatical methods and psychological dimensions. In the end, the research presents some evidence from the Holy Quran and poetry which illustrates the effect of intonation in the structure and its evidence. The\u0000significance of the study is to identify the best sites of pits and dams suitable for\u0000collecting rainwater in the Wadi Mujib basin through developing a spatial model based\u0000on the technology of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS).\u0000In analyzing and identifying the best suitable sites in the Wadi Mujib basin, this paper\u0000uses an integrated methodology based on descriptive data such as mapping data for\u0000natural and human resources in the basin, aiming to produce digital maps needed for\u0000spatial analysis and to construct a spatial model for the optimal positioning for water\u0000harvesting projects. The research concludes by identifying the appropriate sites for water harvesting projects. The appropriateness has been divided into four levels (very\u0000appropriate (4.92%), appropriate (17.26%), moderately appropriate (32.64%),\u0000inappropriate (45.18%)), where the number of proposed dams, (2) dams can be built on\u0000an area of 183.58 km², and the establishment of (10) pits with an area of 192.57 km² of\u0000the area of the total Basin. She has gained an exceptional position in contemporary Iranian literature and is\u0000considered the lady of the modern Persian novel. She is considered so not only because\u0000she is the first woman to write the novel, but also because of the intellectual and social\u0000dimensions that her works carry. Her works focus on social issues such as Iranian\u0000women’s issues, the class system and its ramifications, and the problems of tribal bigotry in Iran.\u0000Simin has relied on real-life situations to write her novels and stories. Such writing\u0000has been consistent with real life as she is able to depict the details of the Iranian society in her stories. For example, “Daneshvar is familiar with her society’s issues,\u0000circumstances, and the suffering of its members of various social classes. This give us a\u0000bleak portrait of women and the marginalized group in Iran at a particult time.”\u0000This study deals with one of Simin Daneshvar's short stories titled “Selection” from\u0000a collection of short stories called Selection. This story personifies the reality of Iranian\u0000society at the time, and the suffering of each individual in the community who criticizes\u0000the tribal system, or refuses to acquiesce to it. It includes the\u0000anomaly, the distorted, the ugly, the strange, and the mad, all of which have a\u0000philosophical dimension that rejects the monistic and absolute view and is based on the\u0000contradictory duality that expresses the individual’s reality in its two parts: the bright\u0000and the dark, the complete and the imperfect.\u0000The events in Frankenstein in Baghdad take place in the years of 2005 and 2006 when\u0000Iraq witnessed a severe state of chaos, destruction and killing. These horrific incidents\u0000are reflected in the characters of the novel as they appear to be distorted, insane,\u0000marginalized, cynical, quackery, masked, and blind. Data were collected by a questionnaire consisting of 27 paragraphs\u0000where its validity and reliability were verified. The study was conducted on male\u0000and female students in Grade Ten in Dhofar Governorate. The findings showed\u0000that attitudes of Grade Ten students towards Islamic Education subject are\u0000positive attitudes based on calculating theoretical mean on scale 6/3=2 and\u0000compare it to mean of students’ responses on the scale whereby most of the\u0000means were with (Agree) which is above 2.\u0000The study shows that there are no statistical differences between mean\u0000responses of the sample on attitudes scale towards Islamic Education subject\u0000based on (Type and Academic Achievement). However, there are statistical\u0000differences between means of sample’s responses based on the variable of the\u0000parents’ educational level.\u0000The study also concluded that there is a statistical weak, negative and\u0000inverse relationship between means of the sample’s responses on scale of\u0000attitudes towards Islamic Education subject and parents’ monthly income.\u0000The researcher used different statistical methods to demonstrate findings as\u0000follows: Frequency, mean, percentage, T-Test, ANOVA test, and Pearson\u0000correlation coefficient. The study attempts to justify the manifestation of place in AlKhateeb’s jounrney. Moreover, the article focuses on the place through dealing with the\u0000idea of belonging to the Andalusian place as well as on Lisan Al-Deen Bin Al-Khateeb’s\u0000interest in Travel Literature.\u0000Furthermore, the research highlights Al-Khateeb’s spatial awareness in producing\u0000spatial symbols and embodying them in his journey as place plays an important role in\u0000his literature which consists of a collection of stories that contributes to depict historical portraits to his readers.\u0000The research describes the nature of the place, the journey’s stages, and the\u0000dominant traditions of those people whom he visited in his journeys. The article\u0000demonstrates that Al-Khateeb was interested in recording geographical information in\u0000the new areas and representing history in a realistic way.
