This article aims at identifying and classifying the risks involved in the LP implementation process. The study was undertaken in four stages: (i) a literature review to identify the risks; (ii) the design and application of a questionnaire, answered by 57 respondents, to assess their perceptions on the probability of occurrence and impact of the risks identified from the literature review; (iii) analysis of the results of the questionnaire, which allowed for classification of the risks based on an exploratory factor analysis; and (iv) a case study, to gain an understanding of the relationships among the risks, performed at a company for which three respondents of the survey worked. Fourteen risks were identified and then classified in three groups: (i) risks associated with the role of support areas; (ii) risks associated with the roles of the top management and middle management; and (iii) risks associated with the role of the operational level. As a result, the film industry, the overall economy and international relations suffer significant damage. Despite the importance of this issue, there are few empirical studies that examine how consumers decide to engage in this piracy. This research investigates whether ethical, legal, economic and behavioral factors are relevant in the consumer decision-making processes of purchasing pirated DVD films. The methodological approach adopted was quantitative, and the data were analyzed using a technical regression binary logistics model. The study was conducted with 205 Brazilian graduate students. The results suggest that economic and legal factors have the greatest influence in consumer decision-making processes. In order to study the long term properties of a control chart, it is appropriate to investigate the steady-state average time to signal. In this article, we discussed runs rules representation of a nonparametric synthetic control chart using sign statistic for detecting shifts in location parameter. We compared zero-state average time to signal with steady-state average time to signal of the synthetic control chart for symmetric and asymmetric distributions. We also present the m-of-m control chart using sign statistic. For comparison study, we computed average time to signal of the m-of-m control chart, the sign chart (1-of-1 chart) and the synthetic control chart for normal, Cauchy, double exponential and gamma distributions. Steady-state and zero-state performance of the m-of-m control chart with m = 2, 3 compared with the sign chart (1-of-1 chart) and synthetic control chart. Therefore, it is essential to take the right decisions when it comes to invest in research and development (R&D) projects. However, an issue that has not been given much attention is how to measure the social impact (or return) of R&D projects. In this exploratory study, the findings of an analysis of how R&D projects are assessed and selected, including this social perspective, are presented. The methodology which has been used in this research includes both interviews and analysis of the data obtained through them. As the justification for the choice of this theme emphasizes, companies increasingly invest in the quality of production processes because waste signals failure, and the mechanisms of investigation as the means of control must be increasingly improved. The line of research used for this study is that systemization of the spot will occur as the process flow of the Poka-Yoke method is applied to parts stews. The methodology will be set in steps of control, including quantitatively and qualitatively evaluating errors and the failures that identify the processes and the production improvements and will assess the reworking such that this process occurs in controlling production line efficiency. Note that this work serves as a tool for Production Engineering geared to the management process, thus including the main focus of the training that the university where this study was conducted particularized. Was seen in the research that the system works even when there is an awareness of workers about the importance of the methodology applied in production processes. The problem is modeled under multiple scenarios via two-stage stochastic programming with recourse. To control the variability of the second-stage costs, we propose a restricted recourse model that generates a set of solutions that are less sensitive to the scenario changes because the variability is limited to a given tolerance. This method was first described as a diagnostic method; subsequently, however, it has been described as an application in a company that is already certified on the three studied standards but that has two different systems to manage its common requirements. In connection with these results, it is important to emphasize the satisfactory acceptance of the diagnostic process at the studied company. After performing the diagnostic, it was shown that the company did not completely meet the evaluated requirements. Esse subprocesso reune as atividades realizadas antes da proposicao e aprovacao de um conceito a ser desenvolvido e implementado. Uma vez que as organizacoes podem se beneficiar substancialmente da otimizacao e melhoria do front end da inovacao, e que esse ainda tem recebido pouca atencao, tanto da academia quanto das organizacoes, justifica-se a importância de estudos que busquem a compreensao e a organizacao desse corpo da literatura, auxiliando assim na evolucao dos conceitos teoricos, bem como o preenchimento das lacunas de pesquisa ainda existentes. Nesse sentido, este artigo relata os resultados de um estudo cujo objetivo foi, a partir de levantamento e analise da literatura relativa ao front end da inovacao e, em especial, dos modelos desse subprocesso, propor um conjunto de pressupostos como base para o desenvolvimento teorico e empirico do tema. Com o levantamento, realizado em quatro bases de dados eletronicas, foram identificados 268 trabalhos, dos quais oito apresentam modelos de front end da inovacao considerados relevantes para analise. Esses modelos sao comparados com base em alguns criterios de analise de conteudo dos artigos. This study considered an event in which the daily abnormal returns were calculated using the model of market-adjusted return. The sample consisted of 61 preferred and 27 common shares of Brazilian companies participating in processes of M & A between January 1996 and December 2004. The results indicated that 1. The announcement of an M & A event contains information relevant to the pricing of shares in the market; 2. The possible use of inside information; 3. The Brazilian market is represented by the semi-strong form of the Market Efficiency Hypothesis, both for preferred shares and for the ordinary shares, with regard to the speed of adjustment to announcement; 4. In industrial processes that rely on batches, grouping batches with similar profiles provides valuable information about process control and monitoring. This paper proposes a variable selection approach based on the kernel function and Principal Component Analysis (PCA). The clustering quality is assessed through the Silhouette Index (SI). When applied to three industrial processes, the proposed approach retained an average of 5.16% of the original variables, yielding on average a 235.4% more precise batch grouping.
