Workplace safety remains a field of interest in the manufacturing industry due to the increasing number of accidents in the workplace. Higher number in workplace accidents in this industry has lead to the question of whether the employers commit enough care to the employees’ safety and health in striving to optimize productivity. The objective of this paper is to measure whether there is a significant difference between individual factors towards manufacturing employees’ view regarding safety culture. The target respondents were employees working in the manufacturing industry in Peninsular Malaysia. The quantitative method was applied in this study. The data collected were analyzed using IBM-SPSS Statistics. This study showed that different individual factors are essential in determining safety culture at the workplace. Everyone should be accountable for the prevention of injury at work or for the care of those affected, directly or indirectly. Occupational safety and health (OSH) requires everyone in the workplace to be involved, including employers, employees, their families and the government, to cooperate as a community with the common interest of better prevention and care. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relevance of the implementation of the fair value of securities in predicting future income and the stock price of the Banks. This study uses the sample of 23 banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange with time series data of 8 years from 2010-2017. This study uses panel data and regression analysis to examine the effect of independent variables on dependent variables. The independent variable used in this study is the Bank's income and stock price and the dependent variable used is the difference fair value and amortized cost which is the difference between the fair value securities and the amortized cost securities. The controlling variables used in this study consisted of assets, interest income, capital tier 1, non-performing loans and asset-liability repricing gap. The results analysis found that the difference in fair value and the amortized cost has a significant effect on the future income and stock price and the book value of equity has a positive effect on the stock price. This is a causal research and its object is all OPDs (Regional Governmental Apparatus Organization) in Medan. The research used primary data which were collected through questionnaires distributed to 56 OPDs. It employed quantitative approach, and SEM model was used for data analysis. Partially, the research results demonstrated that clarity of budget target, quality of human resources, and accountability significantly influenced performance of Regional Financial Management while understanding regional governmental accounting system did not significantly influence the performance of Regional Financial Management. The results of hypothesis test showed moderated effects which indicated that Organizational Commitment could moderate the correlation among clarity of budget target, quality of human resources and understanding regional governmental accounting system with the performance of Regional Financial Management in Medan Municipal.","PeriodicalId":258200,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 1st Aceh Global Conference (AGC 2018)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125828596","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, there is a long debate about the importance of revealing the ethnicity and religion of the accused in the crime reporting. This article discusses the relevance of ethnicity and religion of the perpetrators in the crime news coverage in Australia. This issue is analyzed using the perspectives of the Journalists’ Code of Ethics, anti-vilification laws, public interest defense, ethical philosophy and the rules of reporting court cases in Australia. Based on the analysis, it is found that the attribution of ethnicity and religion of the accused is not necessary for reporting crime. Highlighting the ethnicity and religion is to seek profit and promote certain political agenda since it only occurs when the perpetrators are Middle Eastern people and Muslims. Such attribution also breaches the Journalists’ Code of Ethics and anti-vilification laws in Australia. Such conduct cannot be ethically justified as it could incite hatred towards Muslim/Middle Eastern people and harm multiculturalism in Australia. Their presence causes panel data to become heavily contaminated which in turn leads to biasness and wrong analysis. Thus, robust regression estimators are introduced to provide resistant estimates towards HLPs. In this study, two Robust Within Group (RW) estimators are applied to a few economics and finance real world data. The study is aimed to estimate the usefulness and efficiency of robust methods in contaminated panel data. Results show the advantage of using robust estimation to reduce the influence of HLPs on panel data over the Ordinary Least Square (OLS).
