In the design procedure performed on the PM disc motor, genetic algorithm, as an optimisation tool is used. The application of the permanent magnet disc motor is in electric vehicle and therefore it is essential the weight of the motor to be as minimal as possible. A group of Motorola system engineers suggests providing a whole environment of applications satisfying TV users' needs on a modern technology level. Combining the developed applications into a single suite enables to observe throughout the suite general principles like user compliance, personalization, socialization, integration with other devices, and provide unification of functionality and UI for all applications and all sources of data. Main components of this suite are observed: content management, home environment management, local area info access, and personal specific needs. The resonating microstrip structure consists of multiple smaller patches interconnected by varactors. Four groups of varactors biased by four independent bias voltages allow independent control of antenna resonant frequency and polarization state while maintaining good impedance matching. The antenna design does not include any critical “via” connections to the microstrip ground layer, which could aggravate the fabrication process. The proposed design was verified on prototype fabricated for the L-band frequency range. The obtained frequency-tuning range was up to 50% of the central frequency (890 MHz to 1500 MHz) with return loss better than −15 dB within the whole range. However, due to some effects such as fading or shadowing, an individual sensor may not be able to reliably detect the existence of a Primary User (PU). Cooperative spectrum sensing that is proposed to solve such problem, uses a distributed detection system to overcome the severe decadent of received signal strength at some locations in the network. This paper considers the performance of a distributed Neyman-Pearson (N-P) detection system consisting of N sensors and a fusion center, in which the decision rules of the sensors have been given and the decisions of different sensors are mutually independent conditioned on both hypotheses. Theoretical analysis on the performance of this fusion center is carried out. We obtain the conditions for the fusion center to achieve an overall probability of detection that is greater than the local probability of detection of each sensor. The dual translinear loop is the basic building block in realization scheme. Supply voltage is 3.3V. The major advantages of this multiplier are high speed, low power, high linearity and less dc offset error. The circuit is designed and simulated using HSPICE simulator by level 49 parameters (BSIM3v3) in 0.35µm standard CMOS technology. The data are obtained from a remote agricultural research station in Oman. The annual mean wind speed is 5.7 m/s. In this station, electricity supply is provided with diesel-engine generating units. The annual peak load and minimum load recorded at the site is 130 kW and 28 kW, respectively. A 50-kW wind turbine is selected to demonstrate the economic feasibility of the turbine as a fuel saver. The results show that wind energy utilization is an attractive option with total specific cost of the selected wind turbine at 7.8 ¢/kWh at 7.55% discount rate comparing to diesel generation operating cost of 14.3 ¢/kWh, considering the capital cost of diesel units as sunk. Several transmission gates and a precise voltage comparator with low power consumption is used in this architecture. This design has the advantage of high speed and mixed output with respect to an input select pin. Since, the VSC has several attractive advantages such as high speed response, good transient performance, insensitivity to variation system parameters and external disturbances, simplicity of realization and robustness in nonlinear systems control. A sliding mode controller incorporating fuzzy control helps in achieving reduced chattering, simple rule base, and robustness against load disturbance and nonlinearities. The simulation of nonlinear model SRM using the proposed technique is carried out and the results are compared with those obtained using the conventional PI controller. Also, the experimental setup is verified, which consists of building IGBT inverter H-bridge and associative drive gate with its control circuit and interfacing between control algorithm and experimental hardware. Both simulation and experimental results with the proposed algorithm show that, the system performance is improved significantly in the presence of load disturbance and is insensitive to some parameters variations of the system. Investigations include three-phase and single-phase induction motors, with rated speeds of 3000, 1500, 1000, 750 r/min, and two-speed three-phase induction motors with Dahlander winding connection or separate windings, with rated speeds of 3000/1500, 1500/750, 1500/1000 r/min The investigated motors (manufactured by S.C. Electroprecizia S.A.) were placed in a semi-anechoic chamber in order to determine the noise-tofrequency characteristics (spectrograms). This paper is based on the results and conclusions obtained after analyzing these noise spectrograms.
