The purpose of this case study is to examine how an organisational justice framework can be used to explore employees' perceptions of trust, fairness, and the management of change during a period of strategic changes for a media organisation in Cyprus, and the role of leadership in these changes. A multiple-case study research design contributed to this qualitative case study in the interest of advancing organisational justice theory regarding fairness, trust, and the management of change from an employee perspective. The research design also produced valuable information and knowledge, since which management could more effectively implement organisational changes during times of strategic change.","PeriodicalId":253960,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Teaching and Case Studies","volume":"71 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116017882","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, there is limited understanding of this phenomenon and its impact in regions such as the Caribbean. There is evidence in the scholarly literature of inconclusive arguments surrounding the association between psychosocial issues and mobile social networking among young adults. The academic literature is also inconclusive on gender and self-esteem in relation to the underpinning of the use of social networking among emerging adults. Additionally, limited investigations have been reported on this growing phenomenon in specific contexts such as the Caribbean region.","PeriodicalId":253960,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Teaching and Case Studies","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130870014","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The measurement scales used therein lacked uniformity and their outcomes could not be compared. An analysis of these scales revealed that they were mostly based on or extracted from the four-component description of religion first introduced by early Muslim scholars (699 to 855 A.D). This study analyses this description to understand its potential in creating more consistent religiosity scales. A sample of 511 Arab, Turkish, and Indonesian students completed a religiosity scale composed of 21 items representing different dimensions of the description. As a result, the 21 items were grouped into four factors roughly fitting the four-component description. It was therefore recommended that a new scale be constructed using this description of Islamic religiosity. It was also recommended that similar Islamic historic knowledge contributions be subjected to modern scientific scrutiny.","PeriodicalId":253960,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Teaching and Case Studies","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131053200","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The majority of teachers exhibited a facilitator type role where less instructional discourse was observed with more positive feed forward discourse also observed. The majority of students were found to be more engaged with the changes in class discourse even when the students reported that the apparent level of task difficulty had been increased. The professional development's two staged approach ensured that the school was left with a sustainable process that could be utilised using internal staff.","PeriodicalId":253960,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Teaching and Case Studies","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126463926","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is based on the conceptual framework of the Uppsala internationalisation process model (UIPM) and the notion that international market development is an integrated part of strategic management to facilitate sustainable and profitable growth. The research questions will be answered using a multiple case study (MCS) research structure with qualitative, in-depth, face-to-face, semi-structured interviews of 18 subject matter experts (SME) and additional sources of evidence. The research results show that European suppliers of the automotive industry, which use a structured market entry process (MEP), will enter the Indian market faster, with less risk, and more profitability. This proposed market entry process consists of four steps and seven different integration levels.","PeriodicalId":253960,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Teaching and Case Studies","volume":"113 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125579277","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Kenya was selected as an example for this study. In an empirical study, which is built on the issue was investigated using qualitative in-depth interviews with subject matter experts. In addition to this, the market attractiveness of Kenya and examples of successful market entry were analysed. The results of the multiple case studies were clustered and evaluated using triangulation. The research results confirm that the selection of the market entry form depends greatly on the market attractiveness. In the first phase of market entry, direct export in collaboration with local distributors who help to bridge differences in the market and with obtaining initial customers dominates. Sustainable market success only develops, however, if SMEs are willing to engage with the market and adjust what they offer to the local requirements.","PeriodicalId":253960,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Teaching and Case Studies","volume":"59 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124556399","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Using a survey method, this study evaluates the level of creativity across business organisations in South Africa, and compares the levels of creativity across marketing and non-marketing professionals. The cognitive processes associated with creativity (CPAC) scale (Miller, 2009) was used as a measure of creative thought process. The results indicated that there are no significant differences in creativity scores between the marketing and non-marketing groups. In order to support the pursuit of creativity in organisations, this study recommends that the CPAC scale be validated among a professional sample; and that an instrument that measures all aspects of creative person, process, and press, be developed within a professional context.","PeriodicalId":253960,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Teaching and Case Studies","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127034003","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Recent industry trends toward including more sensors on devices such as mobile phones, which enable new applications in health monitoring, smart homes, and human safety, among others, indicate that the number of such sensor-driven applications will continue to rise. Via a study to learn the difficulties that a group of students face in designing such sensor-driven applications, we uncover a set of instructional principles for instructors to follow in using sensor-driven applications in classrooms. Our findings include that: 1) exposing students to sensor data earlier helps improve self-efficacy; 2) focusing on extracting overall patterns from sensor data rather than understanding specifics of physical quantities is beneficial; 3) good sensor data visualisation is beneficial to design, but bad visualisation can confuse students.","PeriodicalId":253960,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Teaching and Case Studies","volume":"92 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116611704","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This offers many advantages, but also introduces risks related to information security. The present study sought to address the challenges of IT security alongside the adoption of bring your own device (BYOD) programs and the lack of user awareness of related best practices. A qualitative case study research design was employed. IT managers were interviewed to explore the newly developing subject of BYOD and its implications for IT security. The issues most central to information security are security policies, BYOD user awareness and training, the enforcement of organisational security policies, manager effectiveness in protecting data, and users' acceptance and adherence to BYOD security policies. While BYOD is favoured by many users and also offers many advantages, it is not favoured by most IT security managers.","PeriodicalId":253960,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Teaching and Case Studies","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125315412","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
