The study builds upon existing models and frameworks to establish a technology-organisation-process (TOP) maturity model for assessing e-government status in three case studies in Libya, which reveal major problems in adopting e-government in Libya. The current technology deployment remains basic, with inadequate information systems and networks, out of date personal computers and office software, and unreliable access to the internet. Organisational capabilities, skill levels, lack of funding, management support and process inefficiencies are other factors hampering progress in the adoption of e-government. A step-change to digital government that employs emergent technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, analytics and cloud computing is currently out of reach. The TOP maturity model provides a framework for assessing e-government readiness in a developing world environment and gives a multi-dimensional perspective on local authority capabilities.","PeriodicalId":253960,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Teaching and Case Studies","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124408585","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A strengths approach to professional experience underpinned the project. University-based teacher educators played a key role in designing the project, preparing and supporting teacher education students and facilitating an extended project partnership with school-based teacher educators. Following on from the first case study, which examined the project from the students' perspectives, this case study focuses on the project through the lens of the university educators and the implications for enhancing teacher preparation. The data reveals three main points, firstly the importance of the partnership model, secondly the importance of including understanding of school cultural practices in initial teacher education courses and thirdly the overwhelming importance for university educators of developing and maintaining professional relationships in teacher education and the opportunity to do this through professional experience.","PeriodicalId":253960,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Teaching and Case Studies","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134269451","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This qualitative research case study sought to identify and comprehend the factors contributing to this, as well as what marketing professionals believe can be done to drive hospitality and tourism organisations to consider social media in their marketing strategies. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews with seven social media marketing professionals in Cyprus. Key results highlight several factors that prevent hospitality and tourism organisations from integrating social media in their marketing activities, but also what marketing professionals believe can be done to overcome them. The findings helped to inform recommendations for future research as well as best practices that can be implemented by marketing professionals in hospitality and tourism organisations.","PeriodicalId":253960,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Teaching and Case Studies","volume":"152 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116499487","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, small and medium-sized firms have not been taking full advantage of these solutions. This multiple case study aims to explore the perceptions of owners and senior managers of French small and medium-sized software firms on the use of business intelligence in their internationalisation process using the updated Uppsala model as conceptual framework. The results of this research demonstrated that small and medium-sized software firms in France are not taking advantage of business intelligence solutions as most of them do not use these solutions, nevertheless, they perceive that BI solutions have a positive impact on the success of their internationalisation process. This article contains implications for practice for the BI solutions providers like having an alternative pricing model for SMEs and for the authorities to provide relevant data to software SMEs.","PeriodicalId":253960,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Teaching and Case Studies","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124977780","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Rising demand for rhino horn along with inefficiency and corruption in protecting rhinos makes these animals vulnerable. The rhino population is facing a crisis situation with thousands killed illegally for their horns each year. The countries of eSwatini, Botswana, and South Africa are at the forefront of the issue, but little attention has been paid to understanding the positions and viewpoints of the local people. Qualitative interviews were conducted with local ranchers, conservationists, and the general population. Grounded theory techniques were utilised and various stakeholder interviews were conducted to examine the situation from different ethical perspectives. Primary ethical perspectives considered in this case include deontology, consequentialism, and justice/fairness; each perspective is applied to frame the issue with respect to different stakeholder groups that directly influence the rhino crisis.","PeriodicalId":253960,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Teaching and Case Studies","volume":"74 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124094786","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, the present study is an attempt to evaluate the value chain of Zara within the context of the fast fashion market. A set of reasons have been gathered to explain the reasons behind such a successful supply chain, starting from the business strategy to future challenges and recommendations. What is more, the findings are close relationships with suppliers with collaboration as key; a global buyer-driven value chain with intrinsic information flows from customer feedback to the stores' managers, directly to the headquarters; independence of workers providing a fast response and flexibility.","PeriodicalId":253960,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Teaching and Case Studies","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125493431","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Among 61 organisations that participated in the Business Plan Competition North-Bavaria from 1999 to 2018, 11 firms were among the top three winners and met the criteria of this research. A questionnaire was developed and pilot-tested for data collection and analysis. The inferential part of the study results indicates that there is no statistically significant association between success in the competition and future success of the start-up. Contrary to this result, the demographics support the positive contribution of the competition in terms of networking and feedback as perceived by the participants. Future research may consider similar competitions worldwide and examine various competition approaches, investigate demographic influences like team diversity, and include underperforming companies in business plan competitions that could potentially turn out to be successful.","PeriodicalId":253960,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Teaching and Case Studies","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131203464","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We implement operations management concepts and tools such as systems thinking, operations strategy, process flow analysis, predictive analytics, inventory management, and descriptive statistics to analyse the time-to-degree problem to find potential improving solutions. Through this process, we have learned that the students' interest and classroom interactions are increased when the teaching material is closer to the real-life of the students. Accordingly, the results of this study are brought into the classroom. They are embedded in the teaching material as real-life problems and assignments to teach and learn operations management. We have observed that this approach has a positive impact on the mental presence and intellectual engagement of students inside the classrooms.","PeriodicalId":253960,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Teaching and Case Studies","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124349077","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Educational challenges are seen as an essential cross-cutting issue. The objective of this paper is to provide an understanding of current trends. However, there is little literature available on good and bad practices. Thus, this comprehensive study makes use of the literature review and document analysis to focus on a review of the current status of public first and secondary level education in Jordan and Oman. The findings show that Oman still faces some educational challenges, such as fundamental cognitive skills, teaching methods, the curriculum and school year, the preparation for the labour market and gender issues. On the other hand, in Jordan, the review of literature shows that the Hashemite Kingdom faces educational challenges related to quality education, to teaching resources and to the sizeable influx of Syrian refugee children into the system.","PeriodicalId":253960,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Teaching and Case Studies","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130355858","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
