The author briefly outlines the history of this educational technology, its development, and the main methodological provisions. The great popularity of CLIL abroad and the ever-growing interest in it from Russian teachers of foreign languages both in the field of secondary and higher education are noted. Particular attention is paid to the possibilities of applying CLIL when teaching foreign languages, especially as part of vocational-oriented training courses. Finally, the author presents her project of a CLIL based lesson dedicated to the Centennial of the end of the First World War and Remembrance Day. The article concludes with the outline of the advantages of CLIL and the difficulties that teachers face when using the elements of this educational technology while teaching foreign languages. The results of the analysis allow one to suggest that the application of CLIL is especially beneficial when teaching linguistic and regional studies.","PeriodicalId":253464,"journal":{"name":"RSUH/RGGU Bulletin. Allusions to the novel by Francois Rabelais “Gargantua and Pantagruel” and the research of M.M. Bakhtin awaken the comprehension of linguistic freedom of gastroeconomic discourse. Examples of English-language gastronomic chronos in economic discourse, presented in compound linguistic nominations and considered in a socio-economic context, confirm that metaphorization enriches the economic language and enhances its authenticity. There is no doubt that studying the metaphor of the gastro diplomacy language in nominating the precedents of economic history broadens not only linguistic, but also professional horizons and fosters the professional culture of future economists. This is most clearly manifested in the terminological “cuisine” of finance and flavor characteristics of the economy featured in Englishlanguage media sources. The author also proposes to consider the translinguistic approach to describing the specific functioning of words in the gastroeconomic discourse and dares argue that economists l expropriate sweet products that have become popular brands in the description of economic laws with ease. Metaphors, originally tracing back to the gastronomic communicative space, are freely transposed into economic discourse these days.","PeriodicalId":253464,"journal":{"name":"RSUH/RGGU Bulletin. The author attempts to analyze metaphor outside the research field of rhetoric (which traditionally interprets it as a tool of efficient communication) and uses a linguo-cognitive approach to consider it. Within the framework of this approach, metaphor is equated with the cat- egory of thinking and is interpreted as a way of exploring the world and one of the most important cognitive mechanisms used by an individual in the process of his spiritual growth. Since the role of metaphor was completely re-estimated from the point of view of cognitive linguistics, metaphor was no longer considered as a factor inhibiting the formation of scientific knowledge. It was discovered as a unify- ing principle, a semantic potential, which eventually revealed in it the signs of anthropometry that, in turn, served as an impetus for the development of cognitive science. Re-estimation of the role and place of metaphor in the post-nonclassical epistemological field presupposes the evolution of its status: from a common linguistic technique to a meaning-making center, a bridge between being and knowing, subject and object, language and world, science and culture.","PeriodicalId":253464,"journal":{"name":"RSUH/RGGU Bulletin. The study involved employees of a pharmaceutical company (N=101) with different experience, higher education, aged 22 to 60 years (SD=8.62), men 21.8%, women 78.2%. Socio-demographic variables (gender, age), characteristics of professional activity (length of service, position, predominant content of work tasks, compliance of responsibilities with education) are not associated with the severity of burnout in this sample. The traits of the “dark triad” “Machiavellianism” and “psychopathy” are significantly higher in the group of more burned-out employees; the indicators on the “narcissism” scale did not show significant differences. Indicators of “proactive overcoming”, “reflexive overcoming”, and “strategic planning” turned out to be significantly higher in less burned-out employees, and the intensity of psychological defenses did not differ. Proactive coping strategies are associated with burnout in all respondents, psychopathy is associated with burnout in respondents with moderate burnout severity, and personality defense mechanisms are associated with burnout in respondents with high burnout severity. The burnout of the pharmaceutical company employees who took part in this study turned out to be associated with the psychological characteristics of the respondents, and not the characteristics of the organization of their professional activities. In particular, Machiavellianism, psychopathy, proactive coping, and psychological defenses were associated with burnout, and the connections of these psychological characteristics differ among respondents with different burnout severity. The results of the study indicate the expediency of studying the psychological factors of burnout, taking into account the severity and phase of burnout.","PeriodicalId":253464,"journal":{"name":"RSUH/RGGU Bulletin.
