A trusting relationship is based on goodwill, honesty and on the desire to understand, accept another person with all his individual characteristics. The civic position in the work is considered as the social civic activity of the individual, proceeding under the influence of the socio-cultural environment. This is a moral position that encourages a person to feel like a part of civil society, expressed in the presence of a person’s system of socially significant moral guidelines that determine his sense of duty and responsibility to society, his willingness to actively defend his rights and interests and therefore act for the benefit of the people, society. The concepts of “adoption of standards” and “civic identity” are revealed. Diagnostics, in the presented study, was carried out using the Questionnaire of Confidence Relationships, the Questionnaire of Civil Identity (two scales: attitude to the norms of civil society, active civic position); projective methodology “Civic identity” (the methodology studies the significant values of civil society on seven scales). It was found that the educational and regional characteristics of the studied groups of students have an impact on the level of trust and civic characteristics of Russian student youth.","PeriodicalId":253464,"journal":{"name":"RSUH/RGGU Bulletin. The connection between toponyms and anthroponyms is noticeable in the names of Moscow metro stations, that can be used as a part of vocabulary at the lessons of Russian as a foreign language. The article deals with the specifics of working with anthroponyms on the material of the names of Moscow metro stations as the most frequently used by students. The groups of anthroponyms included in the toponyms, word-building models of Moscow metro stations’ names produced from anthroponyms, the peculiarities of toponyms’ functioning are considered. The methodology of working with anthroponyms to enlarge the students’ background knowledge and to help them to navigate in the city of Moscow is suggested. Learning anthroponyms has a great practical value to foreign students as it contributes to their mastering Russian grammar rules and enlarges the scope of their knowledge about Moscow.","PeriodicalId":253464,"journal":{"name":"RSUH/RGGU Bulletin. Modern education does not only imply the transfer of knowledge, but it also provides comprehensive development of students. A foreign language makes it possible to pay sufficient attention to the acquisition of foreign-language professional competence and the identification of creative potential, while concurrently supporting students’ desire for self-expression. Despite the different approaches to creativity as an important element of a teacher’s activity, researchers agree on the point that a teacher who is able to go beyond the customary framework, allows students to independently search for a solution to a creative task, critically comprehend the acquired information in a new way and master the knowledge. The author of the article is examining the principles on which the development of students’ creative abilities in institutions of higher education is based and holds forth some techniques that activate creative thinking, imagination, reflection. The proposed techniques seem to be a fairly effective tool for working out educational material: updating vocabulary and grammar, mastering the rules of stylistics and word formation, clarifying knowledge in the field of future professional expertise","PeriodicalId":253464,"journal":{"name":"RSUH/RGGU Bulletin. This approach expands the possibilities in diagnosing personality traits, since in this case there is no need to focus on selecting a situation for analyzing selfpresentation. In this case, it is no longer the content aspect of the narrative that is important, but how it is built. To demonstrate this possibility, two groups of respondents were selected: Machiavellian and non-Machiavellian, who were asked to create and tell stories that were not personally related to them. The cards from the board game „Imaginarium” were used as the basis for the plot. It was shown that self-presentation techniques can be identified not only in situations of direct self-presentation, but also in their stories on abstract topics too. The main features of the Machiavellian presentation were also highlighted. Their stories are about a strong hero who is opposed to the world. There may be other characters in the stories, but their role is insignificant, or they are ignored by the main character. If we are talking about failures, these situations are described as a certain combination of circumstances.","PeriodicalId":253464,"journal":{"name":"RSUH/RGGU Bulletin. Series Psychology. The uncertainty has acquired a special meaning recently in connection with the pandemic, which has brought an unprecedented level of anxiety and actualized existential givens. According to research, the main tool in the ability to accept the ambiguity of the world and discover new opportunities in the face of uncertainty is meaning. Existential experience, expressed in processing existential givens of death, freedom, loneliness and meaning, deeply affecting a person, becomes a source of personal changes and carries out value-semantic regulation of a person’s entire life. The purpose of the study is to analyze the role of existential experience in processing uncertainty. Written interviews of 108 subjects aged 25-45, which took place during the second wave of coronavirus in Moscow, were studied for the presence of existential issues. The types of processing existential experience were singled out; an empirical analysis of the relationship between the aspects of processing existential experience and indicators of tolerance for ambiguity, hardiness, trait anxiety, subjective happiness and basic hope were carried out. According to the results, emotional processing of existential experience is positively associated with greater existential fulfillment. Together with presence of personal resources it is positively associated with greater hardiness and low level of trait anxiety. Tolerance to ambiguity positively correlates with subjective happiness in respondents with an emotional type of processing existential experience. An assumption is made that an emotional type of processing existential experience contributes to personal maturity, an increase in basic hope and the acquisition of a creative position in relation to life, which is expressed not only in successful coping with anxiety, but also in the pleasure of creative transformation of uncertainty.","PeriodicalId":253464,"journal":{"name":"RSUH/RGGU Bulletin. In ancient times argumentation used to be rightly considered a component of cognition and a method to prove the truth. Its functions today have extended considerably – from systematizing the knowledge to influencing rhetorically human views and behavior. It fulfills even more ambitious targets affecting the essence of ethical standards and thus the social and political background of the society. Teaching argumentation is a constituent of the modern educational system in Russia. In accordance with the requirements registered in the State Educational Standard for higher professional training of the Russian Federation (2010), experts in the humanitarian non-linguistic fields must demonstrate the ability to critical thinking which, in its turn, presupposes thinking and speaking logically in both – native and foreign – languages, holding, formulating logically one’s thoughts in the native and foreign languages, holding argumentative discussions, accepting or counter arguing a debatable issue. The author considers the phenomenon of argumentation applying the activity approach and thus analyzing its aims, correlating argumentation and proof concepts, and estimating teacher (argumentator) – student (recipient) relationships. In addition to this, the paper is aimed at considering the factors of transforming educational process from an informative to an argumentative (persuasive) one in which argumentation might be regarded as a method of impact","PeriodicalId":253464,"journal":{"name":"RSUH/RGGU Bulletin. Despite many translation equivalents that dictionaries offer, there is no universal, unambiguous and accurate equivalent for the term “publicity” in the Russian language, and the available variants often include additional evaluative connotations that the original English term does not contain. The context and type of discourse determine considerably the choice of a translation equivalent of publicity. It is noteworthy that the concept of “publicity” is one of the key ones in the political, advertising and public relations discourses – the areas that are currently developing under significant influence of the English language, culture and mentality. This article is intended to complete this gap. The article presents translation variants of the term “publicity” in dif- ferent contexts, and it is concluded that an adequate translation of the term depends on the pragmatics of political, advertising and marketing discourses, which determine the key seme of the term under consideration, which should be retained in the translation. The results of the work can be applicable in the fields of public relations, translation practice, ESP teaching and research into international communication, as well as to students studying English for specific purposes.","PeriodicalId":253464,"journal":{"name":"RSUH/RGGU Bulletin. Attention is focused on the importance of sibling relationships for personal development, socialization and adaptation, and on the existing shortage of relevant work at the same time. The main stages of the development of sibling theory in their continuity are considered, starting from the first studies devoted to the search for a connection between the order of birth and achievements and dated to the end of the 19th century, to the term “individual environment” developed by the genetics of behavior in the second half of the 20th century. It emphasizes the role of A. Adler, who has made sibling a central feature of family life and personal development and has long determined the future direction of empirical family research. It shows a gradual shift in the interest of researchers from studying the influence of birth order, gender, and age intervals between siblings on personal characteristics. In this connection, an analysis of the nature of sibling relations on the basis of reciprocity and complementarity, undertaken by Dunn, is given. Early works on the jealousy and rivalry of children in the family, the study of the impact of parental differential treatment on them, as well as the influence of child characteristics on siblings in families with sick children are considered.","PeriodicalId":253464,"journal":{"name":"RSUH/RGGU Bulletin.
