The introduced wind turbine concept is realized by a three-shaft planetary gearbox with double degree of freedom. In this case, the rotor of the wind turbine drives the input shaft, the output shaft is connected to the main generator which is directly connected to the grid without any power electronics, and a servo motor that functions as a control actuator drives the third shaft. The main parts of the wind turbines, such as the rotor aerodynamics, gearbox, generator, and pitch system, are modelled from a mechatronic point of view using the linkage graph approach (BGA). Next, we will discuss the theoretical development related to the control scheme comprising a pitch controller and a planetary gearbox speed controller for the wind turbine with power distribution using a PI controller. The efficiency of the proposed model and controller are verified and simulation results are performed to confirm the validity of the proposed technique. The results are obtained using the 20-sim software (a demo version is available for free on the Internet).","PeriodicalId":253361,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 6th International Conference on Optimization and Applications (ICOA)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128590917","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This strategy is based on the reduction of wastes in the company's processes in order to respond perfectly to the changing requirements of customers at lower costs. The purpose of this study is to show the impact of the Lean approach on the optimization of the professional insertion process of newly recruited engineers in a multinational company based in Morocco. For this reason, we have deployed the Lean approach using the DMAIC method (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control).","PeriodicalId":253361,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 6th International Conference on Optimization and Applications (ICOA)","volume":"76 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114005447","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of its major steps is the computation of the correlation matrix implied by the model. This matrix is useful to estimate parameters as well as to assess the overall fit of the model. In this paper, the concept of the implied correlation matrix is introduced. Besides, two major methods used for its computation are discussed. Finally, comparisons between these methods in terms of hypotheses and with simulated example using Python are proposed.","PeriodicalId":253361,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 6th International Conference on Optimization and Applications (ICOA)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133344146","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of this study is to develop an automat tool based on the combination of spectroscopic method with mathematical and statistical algorithm to detect the percentages of adulteration of argan oil with commercial oil by. Data analysis is performed by three pattern recognition methods: principal component analysis (PCA), support vector machine learning regression (SVMR), partial least square regression (PLSR). This approach is based on the geometric median, geodesic distance. We propose the median shift to overcome the limitation of mean which is not necessary a point in a set. The geodesic distance can describe data points distributed on a manifold, compared to the Euclidean distance, and produce efficient results for image analysis. Coupled with k-means algorithm, the proposed framework can cluster the brain image into tree regions (gray matter, white matter and cerebrospinal fluid) and abnormalities regions. We applied this approach to clustering the brain tissues and brain tumor segmentation, which is validated on a synthetic brain MRI. The obtained results using two datasets show the efficiency of the used algorithm validated qualitatively by the measurement of Dice Similarity Coefficient.","PeriodicalId":253361,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 6th International Conference on Optimization and Applications (ICOA)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130396020","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This strategy leads to determine the best design based on thermal management system of phase change material (PCM) for cooling electronic devices. The phase change material is filled inside the heat sink made of Aluminum. Salt Hydrate is used as PCM to keep the temperature of such devices below the critical temperature by absorbing the thermal energy released by electronic components. In the last few decades, designers try to find the optimal design of such a structure. Then, many methods have been developed to reach this goal. Deterministic Design Optimization (DDO) used proposes to minimize an objective function based on physical constrain (thermal constrain). In fact, the maximum temperature of the electronic device should not reach the critical one, to guarantee its best performance. The proposed strategy is programmed using MATLAB codes which is coupled with the finite element software Ansys. Its efficiency is then verified using a numerical application of PCM based heat sink.","PeriodicalId":253361,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 6th International Conference on Optimization and Applications (ICOA)","volume":"35 2","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131874822","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
