Completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 4 replicates was applied. Those treatment were P1= goat dung charcoal 25% + lontar male fruit 75%, P2= goat dung charcoal 50% + lontar male fruit 50%, P3= goat dung charcoal 75% + lontar male fruit 25%, P4= goat dung charcoal 100%. Variable observed were burning temperature, burning rate, burning resistance, burning color, smoke and water boiling ability. Results showed that treatment had a very significant effect (P<0.01) on burning color; significant (P<0.05) on burning resistance but no significant (P>0.05) on burning temperature, burning rate, smoke and water boiling ability. Avarage of burning temperature 213.44°C, burning rate 2.88 g/m, burning resistance 136.25 minutes, color score 2.6, smoke score 3.98 and water boiling ability 27.97 minutes. It was concluded that mixing of goat dung and lontar male fruit with increase of goat dung produce the biocharcoal briquettes with decrease of burning quality. The best of burning quality indicated by P2 that is mixed of 50% of both goat dung and lontar male fruit. \u0000Penelitian bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh campuran arang kotoran kambing dan mayang lontar terhadap kualitas bakar briket bioarang. Metode yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap terdiri atas 4 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Perlakuan tersebut adalah P1= arang kotoran kambing 25% + mayang lontar 75%, P2= arang kotoran kambing 50% + mayang lontar 50%, P3= arang kotoran kambing 75% + mayang lontar 25%, P4= arang kotoran kambing 100%. Variabel yang diteliti: temperatur bakar, laju pembakaran, ketahanan bakar, warna pembakaran, asap, dan kemampuan mendidihkan air. Hasil sidik ragam menunjukkan perlakuan berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap warna pembakaran, berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap ketahanan bakar tetapi berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap temperatur bakar, laju pembakaran, asap, dan kemampuan mendidihkan air. Rerata temperatur bakar 213,44°C; laju pembakaran 2,88 g/m; ketahanan bakar 136,25 menit; warna pembakaran cenderung merah (skor 2,6); dan tidak ada asap (skor 3,98); kemampuan mendidihkan air 27,97 menit. Disimpulkan bahwa campuran kotoran kambing dan mayang lontar dengan level kotoran kambing yang meningkat menghasilkan briket bioarang dengan kualitas bakar yang menurun. This study used 80 super free range female chickens aged 5 weeks. The research method used was a completely randomized design consisting of 4 treatments, each treatment consisted of 5 replications, and each replication consisted of 4 chickens. The treatments consisted of R0: 100% commercial ration, R1: 90% commercial ration + 10% water spinach waste fermented by tape yeast, R2: 80% commercial ration + 20%water spinach waste fermented by tape yeast, R3: 70% commercial ration + 30%water spinach waste fermented by tape yeast. The results of statistical analysis showed that the substitution of water spinach waste fermented by tape yeast on the performance of super female free range chickens with different treatments gave a significant (P<0,05) effect on ration intake, drinking water intake. But did not give a significant effect (P˃0,05) on body weight gain. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the substitution of water spinach waste (Ipomoea aquatica) fermented by tape yeast to a level 30% in commercial feed increased ration intake and drinking water intake. However, at the substitution level of 20% the ration conversion rate increases. \u0000  \u0000Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui substitusi limbah kangkung air (Ipomoea aquatica) terfermentasi pakan komersial terhadap performa ayam kampung super betina. Penelitian ini menggunakan ayam kampung super betina sebanyak 80 ekor berumur 5 minggu. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap yang terdiri dari 4 perlakuan, tiap perlakuan terdiri dari 5 ulangan, dan tiap ulangan terdiri dari 4 ekor ayam. Perlakuan yang diberikan terdiri dari R0: Ransum komersial 100%, R1: Ransum komersial 90% + 10% limbah kangkung airterfermentasi ragi tape, R2: Ransum komersial 80% + 20% limbah kangkung airterfermentasi ragi tape dan R3: Ransum komersial 70% + 30% limbah kangkung air terfermentasi ragi tape. Hasil analisis statistik menunjukan bahwa substitusi limbah kangkung air terfermentasi ragi tape terhadap performa ayam kampung super betina dengan perlakuan berbeda memberikan pengaruh nyata (P˂0,05) terhadap konsumsi ransum, konsumsi air minum dan konversi ransum. Tetapi tidak memberikan pengaruh nyata (P˃0,05) terhadap pertambahan bobot badan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa substitusi pemberian limbah kangkung air (Ipomoea aquatiaca) terfermentasi ragi tape sampai level 30% pada pakan komersial meningkatkan konsumsi ransum dan konsumsi air. Data yamg di peroleh dianalisis mengunakan analisis ragam dari hasil penilitian ini diperoleh lama makan (Jam/Hari) BP 6,46 BPS 6,37 BPFA 6,34 BPSFA 6,23, frekuensi makan (kali/hari) BP 22,25 BPS 24,5 BPFA 25,12 BPSFA 23,87, lama ruminasi (jam/hari) BP 9,05 BPS 9,35 BPFA 9,77 BPSFA 9,94, frekuensi ruminasi (kali/hari) BP 32,37 BPS 34,37 BPFA 35,25 BPSFA 26,27, lama istirahat BP 8,58 BPS 8,36 BPFA 7,96 BPSFA 7,90 frekuesnsi istirahat BP 33,37 BPS 33,37 BPFA 39,75 BPSFA 31,8. Hasil analisis ragam menunjukan bahwa perlakuan berbeda tidak nyata (P>0.05)  terhadap lama makan,frekuensi makan lama ruminasi frekuensi ruminasi lama istirahat frekuensi istirahat pada ternak kambing.  \u0000This study aims to determine the effect of concentrated feeding containing extracts of lontar fruit fiber and fermented chicken excreta on feeding behavior in goat livestock B grass.  Pertusa. The study used Latin Square Design with four treatments and four periods as a repeat. The four treatments are BP: Botriochloa pertusa grass 40% + 30% Lamtoro + Concentrate 30%, BPS : Botriochloa pertusa grass 40% + Lamtoro 30% + Concentrate 30% (Lontar Fruit Fiber Extract 10%), BPFA : Botriochloa grass pertusa 40% + Lamtoro 30% + Concentrate 30% ( Chicken Excretory 10 %), BPSFA : Botriochloa pertusa grass 40% + Lamtoro 30% + Concentrate 30% ( Saboak Fruit Extract 5 % + Chicken Excretory 5 %). The method used in this study is an experimental method using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments are P0 = banana skin flour without fermentation; P1 = Banana skin flour fermented for 7 days; P2 = Banana skin flour is fermented for 14 days; P3 = Banana skin flour fermented for 21 days. From the research conducted, the average value of VFA (mM) P0 = 87.98 ± 0.73; P1 = 130.96 ± 1.04; P2 = 131.74 ± 1.04; P3 = 133.03 ± 0.98; average NH3 (mM) P0 = 5.94 ± 0.67; P1 = 11.51 ± 0.56; P2 = 11.81 ± 1.33; P3 = 12.50 ± 1.20 while the average pH concentration P0 = 6.77 ± 0.06; P1 = 6.97 ± 0.06; P2 = 6.87 ± 0.15; P3 = 6.97 ± 0.06. Variance analysis (ANOVA) results showed that the treatment had a very significant effect (P <0.01) on VFA and N-NH3 concentration, and no significant effect (P> 0.05) on pH levels. The conclusion of this research is the fermentation of banana skin using yeast Saccharomycess cerevisiae with different length of time tends to increase the concentration of VFA and N-NH3. While the pH concentration increases during the fermentation period of 7 days and 21 days. Keywords: Banana skin, Long Fermentation, Saccharomycess cerevisiae, VFA, and N-NH3. \u0000Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh lama fermentasi tepung kulit pisang menggunakan khamir Saccharomyces cerevisiae terhadap konsentrasi VFA, N-NH3 dan pH cairan rumen secara in vitro. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan tersebut adalah P0 = Tepung kulit pisang tanpa fermentasi; P1 = Tepung kulit pisang difermentasi selama 7 hari; P2 = Tepung kulit pisang difermentasi selama 14 hari; P3 = Tepung kulit pisang difermentasi selama 21 hari. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan Analisis Of Variance (ANOVA). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan rataan konsentrasi VFA (mM) P0 = 87,98±0,73; P1 = 130,96±1,04; P2 = 131,74±1,04; P3 = 133,03±0,98; rataan konsentrasi N-NH3 (mM) P0 = 5,94±0,67; P1 = 11,51±0,56; P2 = 11,81±1,33; P3 = 12,50±1,20 sedangkan rataan konsentrasi pH P0 = 6,77±0,06; P1 = 6,97±0,06; P2 = 6,87±0,15; P3 = 6,97±0,06. Hasil analisis Ragam (ANOVA) menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap konsentrasi VFA dan N-NH3, dan berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap konsentrasi pH. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini, fermentasi tepung kulit pisang menggunakan khamir Saccharomycess cerevisiae dengan lama waktu yang berbeda cenderung meningkatkan konsentrasi VFA dan N-NH3. Data collection is done using quantitative and qualitative methods to obtain primary and secondary data. The sampling method is done through three stages. The first stage is carried out at the sub-district level purposively and selected two sub-districts examples. The second stage of determining the sample village is done purposively and selected four example villages. The third stage of determining respondents was done randomly non proportionally as many as 100 example breeders. The data analysis method used is financial analysis using the investment criteria Net Present Value (NPV), Net Benefit Cost Ratio (Net B /C), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Payback Period (PP), and Break Event Point (BEP). The results showed that the income of pig farmers was Rp18.225.448 of which 47% was cash income and 53% was non-cash income. The results of the financial analysis showed that NPV worth Rp5.914.312; Net B/C= 1,40; IRR= 18%; Payback Period= 1,54 years; BEP units 6,54 ST and BEP Rupiah Rp27.257.834. Based on the results of research it can be concluded that, the pig herd business in Alor Regency has generated income for pig farmers and is financially viable. \u0000Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan finansial usaha ternak babi di Kabupaten Alor. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode survei untuk mendapatkan data primer dan sekunder. Metode pengambilan contoh dilakukan melalui tiga tahap. Tahap pertama dilakukan pada tingkat kecamatan secara purposive dan dipilih dua kecamatan contoh yaitu kecamatan yang dekat dengan kota dan kecamatan yang jauh dari kota. Tahap kedua penentuan desa contoh dilakukan secara purposive dan dipilih empat desa contoh. Tahap ketiga penentuan responden dilakukan secara acak non proporsional dimana setiap desa 25 responden sehingga terdapat 100 peternak contoh. Metode analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis finansial dengan menggunakan kriteria investasi yaitu Net Present Value (NPV), Net Benefit Cost Ratio (Net B/C), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Payback Period (PP), dan Break Event Point (BEP) yang terdiri dari BEP unit dan BEP Rupiah . Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendapatan peternak babi adalah Rp18.225.448; dimana 47% merupakan pendapatan tunai dan 53% merupakan pendapatan non tunai . Hasil analisis finansial menunjukkan bahwa NPV senilai Rp5.914.312; Net B/C= 1,40; IRR= 18%; Payback Period= 1,54 tahun; BEP unit 6,54 ST dan BEP Rupiah Rp27.257.834. The material used is 96 DOC broiler chicken strain CP 707. Completely Randomized Design was adopted in this experiment which consist of 4 treatments and 6 replications, 4 chcikens per replicate. The treatments were P0: Commercial feed without areca nut powder, P1: commercial feed + 1% coconut betel nut, P2: Commercial feed + 1% areca nut, P3: Commercial feed + 1% ornamental betel nut. Research variables include feed intake, body weight gain, final weight and feed conversion ratio. The results of the study showed that giving different types of betel nut to chickens had a significant effect (P<0.05) on final body weight, body weight gain, and feed conversion ratio. It was found that providing different types of areca nut at a level of 1% in commercial feed increased body weight gain, final weight and decreased feed conversion ratio in broiler chickens. The final body weight and the body weight gain of broiler chickens is higher when they are feed areca nut. \u0000  \u0000Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh pemberian jenis pinang (Areca catechu L.) sebagai feed additive terhadap performa ayam broiler. Materi yang digunakan adalah DOC ayam broiler strain CP 707 sebanyak 96 ekor. Metode penelitian ini memakai Rancangan Acak Lengkap meliputi 4 perlakuan dan 6 ulangan, tiap-tiap ulangan terdapat 4 ekor ayam broiler. Perlakuan yang diberikan adalah P0: Pakan komersial tanpa penambahan serbuk pinang, P1: Pakan komersial +1% serbuk bonak, P2: Pakan komersial + 1% pinang irian, P3: Pakan komersial + 1% pinang hias Pakan perlakuan diberikan dari umur 14-35 hari. Variabel penelitian meliputi konsumsi pakan, pertambahan bobot badan, bobot badan akhir dan konversi pakan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian jenis pinang yang berbeda pada ayam berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap bobot badan akhir, pertambahan bobot badan, dan konversi pakan. Pemberian jenis pinang yang berbeda pada level 1% pada pakan komersial mampu menaikkan pertambahan bobot badan, bobot akhir dan menurunkan konversi pakan pada ayam broiler. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan 96 anak ayam umur sehari (DOC). Metode yang digunakan ialah metode eksperimen, dan rancangan yang digunakan ialah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri atas 4 perlakuan dan 6 ulangan. Adapun perlakuan yang diberikan ialah R0=Kombinasi antara 50% tepung jagung dan konsentrat sebanyak 50%. R1=Kombinasi antara 33,33% tepung jagung, 50% konsentrat dan 16,67% campuran tepung ubi ungu dan tepung daun kelor serta minyak kelapa. R2=Kombinasi antara 16,67% tepung jagung, 50% konsentrat dan 33,33% campuran tepung ubi ungu dan tepung daun kelor serta minyak kelapa. R3=Kombinasi antara 50% konsentrat dan 50% campuran tepung ubi ungu dan tepung daun kelor serta minyak kelapa. Penggunaan campuran tepung ubi ungu, tepung daun kelor serta minyak kelapa sebanyak 16,67%-50% bertujuan untuk mensubtitusi penggunaan tepung jagung dalam ransum sebanyak jumlah penggunaan dari campuran ketiga bahan pakan tersebut. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan Analisis Kruskal Wallis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan memberikan pengaruh yang sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap organoleptik ayam pedaging. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini ialah subsitusi jagung dalam ransum dengan mengunakan pakan campuran tepung ubi ungu dan daun kelor serta minyak kelapa mampu meningkatkan organoleptik ayam pedaging. Warna daging ayam agak merah, aroma daging berbau khas ubi ungu, cita rasa daging ayam sangat disukai dan tekstur daging lembut. The method used in this study was an experimental method using a complete randomized design (CRD) consisting of four treatments of four replicates. The treatment is P0 = 60% rumen contents + 35% rice bran + 5% sugar; P1 = P0 + 40 ml Mole; P2 = P0 + 80 ml Mole; P3 = P0 + 120 ml Mole. The variables measured were dry matter, organic matter digestibility and total digestible nutrient (TDN). The data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (Anova) and if there were differences among the treatments with Duncan's range test. Statistical analysis show that there were significant difference (P<0.01) on dry matter and organic matter digestibility and total digestible nutrients (TDN). The conclusion showed that the use 40 ml of local microorganisms was the best level to increase dry and organic matter digestibility and total digestible nutrients.  \u0000  \u0000Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan mikroorganisme lokal (mol) dalam silase isi rumen sapi terhadap kecernaan bahan kering, bahan organik dan total digestible nutrient (TDN) secara in vitro. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) terdiri dari 4 perlakuan 4 ulangan. Perlakuannya yaitu P0 = 60% isi rumen + 35% dedak + 5% gula; P1 = P0 + 40 ml Mol; P2 = P0 + 80 ml Mol; P3= P0 + 120 ml Mol. Variabel yang diukur adalah kecernaan bahan kering, bahan organik dan total digestible nutrient (TDN). Data dianalisis menggunakan Analysis of Variance (Anova) dan dilanjutkan dengan uji jarak berganda Duncan. Hasil analisis statistik menunjukkan perlakuan berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap kecernaan bahan kering, bahan organik dan total digestible nutrient (TDN). Hasil uji jarak bergandan Duncan menunjukkan perlakuan yang menggunakan mikroorganisme lokal (mol) berbeda sangat nyata dibandingkan dengan perlakuan kontrol. Disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan level mikroorganisme lokal pada silase isi rumen dapat meningkatkan KcBK, KcBO dan TDN. Metode yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 4 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Perlakuan tersebut adalah P1꞊ kotoran kambing 25% dan tempurung saboak 75%, P2꞊ kotoran kambing 50% dan tempurung saboak 50%, P3꞊ kotoran kambing 75% dan tempurung saboak 25% dan P4꞊ kotoran kambing 100% . Variabel yang diteliti: temperatur bakar, ketahanan bakar, laju pembakaran, warna pembakaran, asap dan kemampuan mendidihkan air. Analisis keragaman menunjukkan perlakuan berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap temperatur bakar, warna pembakaran, ketahanan bakar, laju pembakaran dan kemampuan mendidihkan air tetapi berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap asap. Rataan temperatur bakar 264,60 °C; laju pembakaran 2,29 g/m; ketahanan bakar 175 menit; warna pembakaran cenderung merah (skor 2,75); dan tidak ada asap (skor 3,98); kemampuan mendidihkan air 14,75 menit. Disimpulkan meningkatnya level kotoran kambing dalam campuran menghasilkan kualitas bakar briket dengan indikasi temperatur bakar yang menurun, laju pembakaran yang semakin cepat, ketahanan bakar lebih singkat, kemampuan mendidihkan air lebih lama dan mengurangi warna pembakaran, tetapi tidak menimbulkan asap. Kualitas bakar briket bioarang terbaik pada campuran arang kotoran kambing 25 % dan tempurung saboak 75 % (P1).\u0000------------------------\u0000Kata kunci: briket bioarang, kotoran kambing, kualitas bakar, tempurung saboak.\u0000 \u0000ABSTRACT\u0000The experiment goals was to determine burning quality of biocharcoal briquettes mixed of goat dung and lontar shell. The completely randomized design consist of 4 treatments and 4 replications was applied. Those treatments were P1꞊ 25% goat dung charcoal and 75% lontar shell, P2 ꞊ 50% goat dung charcoal and 50% lontar shell, P3 ꞊ goat dung charcoal 75% and 25% lontar shell and P4꞊ goat dung charcoal 100% .Variables observed were burning temperature, combustion rate, burning resistance, color and smoke and water boilling ability. The statistical analysys showed that treatment have a very significant effect (P<0.01) on burning temperature, combustion rate, burning resistance, color and water boiling ability but no significant (P>0.05) on smoke. The average of burning temperature 264.60 °C; combustion rate 2.29 g/m; burning resistance 175 minutes; fire color tend to red (2.75); without smoke (3.98); water boilling abillity 14.75 minutes. Increasing levels of goat dung in mixed produce biocharcoal briquettes indicated lower in burning temperature, burning resistance, fire color, and water boiling abillity, increase combustion rate, and without smoke. Ternak yang digunakan adalah kambing kacang jantan sebanyak 4 ekor yang berumur 6-8 bulan dengan berat badan awal rata-rata 12,2kg (KV=17%). Metode  yang digunakan adalah percobaan dengan Rancangan Bujur Sangkar Latin (RSBL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan yang terdiri dari BP = hay rumput Bothrichloa pertusa 40% + lamtoro 30% + konsentrat 30%, BPS = hay rumput Bothrichloa pertusa 40% + lamtoro 30% +  konsentrat 20% + ekstrak buah lontar 10%, BPFA = hay rumput Bothrichloa pertusa 40% + lamtoro 30% +  konsentrat 20% + ekskreta ayam 10%, dan BPSFA = hay rumput Bothrichloa pertusa 40% + lamtoro 30% +  konsentrat 20% +  ekstrak buah lontar 5% + ekskreta ayam 5%. Parameter yang diukur terdiri dari konsumsi dan kecernaan  serat kasar, konsentrasi VFA(volatile fatty acid) rumen, dan  glukosa darah. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa penggunaan kombinasi ekstrak buah lontar dan ekskreta ayam tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap konsumsi dan kecernaan serat kasar, kadar glukosa darah, namun cenderung meningkat (P=0,08) konsentrasi VFA rumen. Disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan kombinasi ekstrak buah lontar dan ekskreta ayam tidak mempengaruhi konsumsi dan kecernaan serat kasar, kadar glukosa darah tetapi  cenderung meningkatkan konsentrasi VFA pada ternak  kambing yang mengkonsumsi rumput Bothriochloa pertusa. \u0000This study aims to determine the effect of using a combination of lontar fruit extract and chicken excreta on fiber utilization in goats that intake Bothriochloa pertusa grass. The livestock used were 4 male peanut goats aged 6-8 months with an average initial body weight of 12.2 kg (KV=17%). The experiment with design with Latin Square Design with 4 treatments and 4 treatments which consisted of BP = Bothrichloa pertusa grass hay 40% + lamtoro 30% + concentrate 30%, BPS = Bothrichloa pertusa grass hay 40% + lamtoro 30% + 20% concentrate + palm fruit extract 10%, BPFA = Bothrichloa pertusa grass hay 40% + lamtoro 30% + 20% concentrate + chicken excreta 10%, and BPSFA = Bothrichloa pertusa grass hay 40% + lamtoro 30% + 20% concentrate + lontar fruit extract 5% + chicken excreta 5%. The parameters observed were crude fiber intake and digestibility, intake of digestible crude fiber, VFA concentration rumen(volatile fatty acid) and blood glucose levels. Results showed that combined of lontar fruit extract and chicken excreta had no real effect (P>0.05) on crude fiber intake and digestibility, blood glucose consentration. But it tends to increase  (P=0.05) at concentration of VFA rumen.
