The results obtained for a given radiated power show that, although the maximum SAR value as averaged over 1 g in the brain is higher at 900 MHz than at 1800 MHz, the maximum temperature increase in the brain is higher at 1800 MHz. In fact, at 1800 MHz the thermal diffusion process moves heat from the external layers, where SAR values higher than those obtained at 900 MHz are present, toward the brain.","PeriodicalId":250660,"journal":{"name":"2001 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Sympsoium Digest (Cat. As a consequence, a new class of low-dispersion operators is designed for the approximation of spatial and temporal derivatives. Their extension to curvilinear non-orthogonal coordinates is attained by a higher-order variation of the covariant and contravariant vector component theory, in which all metric terms are taken into account. Finally, the proposed method is validated by the analysis of diverse multiport microwave structures with realistic features.","PeriodicalId":250660,"journal":{"name":"2001 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Sympsoium Digest (Cat. Such a hybridization of MRTD facilitates the application of the method to open structures and inhomogeneous circuit geometries, where the use of high order wavelets significantly complicates the formulation of a pure MRTD scheme. Furthermore, it allows for the straightforward enforcement of localized boundary conditions, bypassing the necessity to employ image theory, which typically arises in MRTD. The fact that the implementation of the proposed interface involves no spatial or temporal interpolation indicates the efficiency of the developed technique.","PeriodicalId":250660,"journal":{"name":"2001 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Sympsoium Digest (Cat. The main problem with such modulators is the error in phase and amplitude balance, which is quite large at MM-waves and degrades the performance of the modulator (carrier rejection, deviation from 90 degrees between states, etc.). In this paper we introduce a novel approach featuring an error correction scheme, which is simple to implement both in hybrid and MMIC forms. A very important feature of the new method is the self-generated reference signal, which enables a simple (low cost) and self contained implementation in a MMIC form of a high quality QPSK MM-wave modulator.","PeriodicalId":250660,"journal":{"name":"2001 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Sympsoium Digest (Cat.
