The filter is tuned with a circuit simulator using the multiport S-parameter data and lumped capacitors at the ports. We can then optimize the combline filter very rapidly by mapping the \"coarse\" circuit model to the \"fine\" FEM model. Multilayer Cofired Ceramics (e.g. LTCC/HTCC) is seen, as a potential integration platform offering size, cost and performance advantages. Monolithic integration of passive components, such as directional couplers, in Multilayer Integrated Circuit technologies is highly desirable. Microstrip broadside-coupled structures are well suited for tight coupling in a multilayer high integration environment. However, it is well known that such hybrids suffer from poor directivity due to the inhomogeneous nature of the substrate. Numerous compensation techniques have been proposed in the literature, which attempt to equalize the normal mode phase velocities. In this paper we address the equalization of couplers where the even mode phase velocity is greater than the odd mode, a case typically encountered in broadside-coupled microstrip structures. The low noise and high gain characteristics of the MHEMTs at K-band allow for the integration of a single-stage amplifier with a subharmonic mixer resulting in low-power broadband performance. The subharmonic mixer exhibits conversion loss of 13 dB and IIP3 of +8 dBm from 23 to 30 GHz. With the addition of the amplifier, the down-converter exhibits a conversion loss of 3 dB, noise figure of 5 dB, and IIP3 of -5 dBm from 26 to 30 GHz. Each chip's circuit parameters as well as transistors gate widths are optimized for maximum frequency of operation. As most of the effects due to the exogenous exposure of biosystem has been associated with the cell membrane, these researches are mainly oriented toward the study of the molecular aspects of the interaction. Their most common implementation is based on circular-waveguide technology and generally requires a rather complex development procedure. In this paper we describe a new implementation of dual-mode filters in standard rectangular waveguide that can be used to produce asymmetric transfer functions. The proposed filter structure can be analyzed and optimized very efficiently using multimode equivalent network representations thus leading to a simple and rapid development procedure. In contrast to the conventional resonant-type switch design method, this passive FET switch circuit utilizes impedance transformation to compensate the drain-source capacitance effect for the off-state in millimeter-wave frequency range. This SPDT switch has a measured isolation better than 30 dB for the off-state and 4 dB insertion loss for the on-state from 53 GHz to 61 GHz. A sapphire resonator is set in a cavity constructed from two HTS films and a copper cylinder. This resonator structure is designed from the mode charts calculated on the basis of the rigorous analysis by the mode matching method. It is verified that the mode chart also is effective to identify many resonant modes observed in measurement. The temperature dependence of R/sub s/ of a YBCO film was measured at 20 GHz by this method.
