However, these team dynamics leave a footprint in their daily activity record which could be used to infer interesting properties and try to determine these team dynamics, and even leadership patterns, from a different, non intrusive, point of view. It is like figuring out how a dinosaur was just by analyzing its footprints found in the mud. The tool allows the comparison of a reference specification, provided by the instructor, with the specification proposed by the student. As a result, the tool can report that: (i) both specifications are equivalent (and, therefore, the specification proposed by the student can be considered correct); (ii) there are discrepancies between the specification proposed by the student and the one provided by the instructor (and, therefore, the specification proposed by the student can be considered incorrect); or (iii) the result of the comparison is inconclusive. Also, in case discrepancies are discovered, the tool provides sentences that allow differentiation between the two specifications, and that help the instructor to diagnose the problems underlying the student’s specification. The paper motivates the need for the tool, describes its functionality, briefly summarizes its internals, and presents a preliminary evaluation of the tool that makes the usefulness of CheRegES as a tool to support assessment in Compiler Construction courses apparent.","PeriodicalId":244532,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Symposium on Computers in Education (SIIE)","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132946610","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Computational thinking, closely related to programming, requires thinking and solving problems with different levels of abstraction and is independent of hardware devices. The early childhood education stage provides teachers with the opportunity to lay the foundations for a comprehensive quality education using innovative tools and technologies. Educational robotics in early childhood education becomes a tool that facilitates the acquisition of knowledge to children, playfully, based on the principles of interactivity, social interrelationships, collaborative work, creativity, constructivist and constructionist learning, and a student-centered didactic approach, allowing in turn that student can acquire digital competencies and develop logical and computational thinking in an underlying way. This project explores the current state of teaching and learning computational thinking and programming in early childhood education in an inclusive manner. Moreover, the lack of diversity and inequality is particularly latent in science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields. Therefore, this work considers this problem and presents an inclusive coeducation approach to this new literacy, eliminating gender stereotypes and extending them to people with Down syndrome and hospitalized minors.","PeriodicalId":244532,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Symposium on Computers in Education (SIIE)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130044302","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As a return to normality is far from over, the implementation of novel training approaches for teacher training is more imperative than ever. In this context, this paper presents the VRTEACHER project that aims to promote the use of digital technologies and innovative and open pedagogies as part of teachers’ training methodology. The vision of the project is to empower teacher’s skills (such as empathy, perspective-taking, self-efficacy, adaptability, etc.) and readiness related to class management in crisis situations, through Virtual Reality (VR) immersive and experiential training approaches that reflect real-life scenarios and situations. The aim and challenge of the project are not just to adapt the training provided to the digital era and connect it with new technologies but to build a holistic new approach to teacher training through the use of VR.","PeriodicalId":244532,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Symposium on Computers in Education (SIIE)","volume":"59 3","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121000578","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This case study belongs to a broader framework where we apply an iterative process guided by IEEE P7010-2020 standard for Well-being Impact Assessment to a set of data-driven educational technologies to evaluate their impacts on well-being by collecting subjective and objective data from creators and users. In this paper, we survey teachers from Saudi Arabia (n=68) to investigate their views about the impact of learning design community platforms supported by learning analytics on their well-being based on well-being indicators distributed to twelve domains. The participants identified several possible well-being impacts that are well-aligned with the creators’ views. Yet, the potential negative well-being impacts indicated by the studied tool’s creators were less likely to occur from the users’ perspective.","PeriodicalId":244532,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Symposium on Computers in Education (SIIE)","volume":"90 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131745044","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
