The analysis made it possible to conclude that the theological image of St. Joseph included in the exhortation is integrally connected with the teaching of the Second Vatican Council. The figure of the Patriarch is shown in two sections: in the mystery of Christ and the Church. On the one hand, Joseph was introduced as a father, bridegroom, carpenter, and a contemplative man of the Savior. On the other hand, it shows his role in the mystery of the Church as a guardian and intercessor, as well as a model to follow. It is worthy to note the perspective of salvation history, dominant in the entire document, which allowed to emphasize Joseph’s active cooperation in fulfilling God’s will. The conciliar call to return to the sources is evidenced in the document thanks to numerous references to Sacred Scripture, to the documents of the Church’s Magisterium, to the statements of the Fathers and Doctors of the Church and use of the liturgical texts. Such a solid reliance on sources meant that the image of St. Joseph is solid, without exaggeration and false exaltation.","PeriodicalId":241712,"journal":{"name":"Poznań Theological Studies","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116219766","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Analysis of biblical data and interpretation of the Magisterium of the Church’s dogmatic teaching allows us to propose a solution to the problem by stating that the primary consequence of sin is spiritual death, that is, breaking communion with God, and bodily death is only a secondary, consequence result of sin, which means that the experience of bodily death has changed for man after the fall. This proposal is corroborated by opinions of some recognized contemporary theologians.","PeriodicalId":241712,"journal":{"name":"Poznań Theological Studies","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122043925","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The work consists of twelve books – official documents and the royal ones from the years 489–538. On the basis of the source text, especially books 11th and 12th of Variae, the most important documents are analysed. These documents were written at the time of serving in the administration of the king of Ostrogoths, when Cassiodorus was the praetorian prefect. The paper is divided into four parts. The first point is devoted to the description and the scope of activity of the praetorian prefect, pointing to his high qualifications, integrity and responsibility for the country. In the second point the author presents the two rules that should be followed by officials: being obedient and loyal to the authority, as well as preserving the law. The next point is devoted to preferment and the payment officials received, which resulted from working in public service. The last point is devoted to combating corruption and malpractice, especially bribery, theft and breaking the law. The issues raised in this paper are still current and the principles of ruling in various high offices proposed by Cassiodorus are still of high standards for the person who holds an office in the government.","PeriodicalId":241712,"journal":{"name":"Poznań Theological Studies","volume":"80 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125166348","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of such sources is a letter written by Andrzej Stanisław Kostka Młodziejowski, bishop of Poznań, in defense of the Piarists. The article analyzes its contents, confronting it with the archival documentation of the Warsaw Nuntiature. While defending the Polish religious, the bishop of Poznań emphasized their orthodoxy, the special merits of S. Konarski, as well as the falsity of the slander directed at them by one of the insubordinate religious. He drew attention to the fact that Warsaw belongs to his ecclesiastical jurisdiction and that, in the first place, he himself supervises the discipline of clergy. Perhaps this intervention was not of key importance for the defense of the Piarists against the allegations of the nuncio, however the Holy See, following its own procedures, has eventually lifted the allegations against the Piarists.","PeriodicalId":241712,"journal":{"name":"Poznań Theological Studies","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128119048","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It consists of eighteen articles. The first shows Mary’s concern for unity as a manifestation of her spiritual motherhood. The next two present the Mother of Unity in the perspective of the Gospels of John and Luke. In the following texts, the teachings of St. Augustine, St. J.H. Newman, Leo XIII, Ch. Lubich, and the Second Vatican Council are brought to bear on the same theme. There is no lack of Protestant positions (K. Barth and H. Trinitarian motifs and symbols are presented most abundantly in the nave. The wall paintings of the presbytery and the nave painted by brother Walenty Żebrowski, Bernardine. These paintings are from the late Baroque. The polychrome of Kalisz is the last work of this Bernardine. W. Żebrowski worked not only in Kalisz, but also for the Bernardine churches in Poznań, Kadyny, Wschowa, Skępe, Warta, Ostrołęka, Warszawa and probably in Owińska, Ostrzeszów and maybe in Łęczyca too. This is mainly due to the fact that society, and thus the community of the Church, is affected by the problem of the progressive aging of its members. In the catechetical dimension, it becomes important, among other things, to take appropriate steps to adapt the catechesis of the elderly in terms of appropriate content, tools and structure. The suggested specific educational offer should stimulate and encourage to verify and deepen one’s own religious knowledge, help answer nagging questions, especially existential ones in an eschatological perspective, and find a place and role of the elderly in the community of believers. In this study, the notion of old age and aging in the social and theological aspect was first analyzed, then the basic assumptions of neuroandragogy and the most important aspects of catechesis of the elderly were presented. The next part featured practical implications for the use of selected elements of andragogy and neuroandragogy in catechesis and the broadly understood activity and religious education of the elderly.","PeriodicalId":241712,"journal":{"name":"Poznań Theological Studies","volume":"87 2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127052863","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is not only the generally understood development of resilience in students in the face of threats to life and health, but also strengthening its “religious” dimension. Religious education can play an important role in this respect, as its strength lies in the ability to offer people a wide range of ways to cope with various life situations or adversities. This article first presents a critical analysis (the outline of the problem) of the changed existential and educational situation of students in the times of the COVID-19 pandemic in Poland. That, in turn, makes it possible to identify the social and educational consequences of lockdown, which are a challenge for religious education within the scope of educational activities in Poland and for the development of resilience. These considerations constitute a starting point for presenting the issue of religious constructs, prayer and theologization as educational vehicles of mental resilience that can effectively help children and adolescents expand their personal resources of these valuable – in an individual and social sense – skills.","PeriodicalId":241712,"journal":{"name":"Poznań Theological Studies","volume":"145 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114524590","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
