Solutions require the application with new and innovative technologies to efficiently achieve the desirable functional capabilities. The benefits of Virtual Engineering environments are becoming noticeable at product and process development level but its visualisation has not been applied much at a shop-floor level. Using an automation toolset utilising a component based approach, this paper introduces a Web-based 3D fault diagnosis and its visualisation in a shop-floor that delivers better perception and understanding to engineers, and even provides convenient shop floor accessibility to machine information anytime and anywhere. In particular, this work has implemented 3D fault visualisation using an X3DOM model and technology. It improves the accessibility of 3D visualisation without the need for specific visualisation software and can be deployed on both PC-based hardware and mobile devices.","PeriodicalId":240337,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-09-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133495944","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In comparison to conventional DABs, the proposed topology significantly reduces the bridge currents, lowering both conduction and switching losses and improving power factors associated with the bridges. A mathematical model, which predicts the behavior of the proposed system, is presented to show that both the magnitude and direction of the power flow can be controlled through either relative phase angle or pulse width modulation of voltages produced by the bridges. Viability of the proposed concept is verified through simulation. Experimental results of a 1 kW prototype converter, which has an efficiency of 95% at rated power, are also presented with discussions to demonstrate the improved performance of the CLC DAB topology.","PeriodicalId":240337,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT)","volume":"267 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-09-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133091599","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Many people have to face difficulties in locking/unlocking and switching ON/OFF the car engine upon losing the car key. In addition to that in most of the higher range car, people have to wait for few minutes after turning on the car engine to allow the car engine to attain its normal operating temperature to get better performance of the car engine and improve its life. Moreover, if a car gets stolen and used for some illegal activities banned by the government then a car owner will face many legal hitches. So to tackle all these issues, an electronic system is designed and implemented in a real car that does not provide only car security feature but provides additional features such as unlocking and locking of the car, and switching ON and OFF the car engine remotely using smart phone. This paper basically discusses the technical aspects of such electronic system.","PeriodicalId":240337,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT)","volume":"180 2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-09-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123571465","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The advantages are reduced output current ripple and conduction loss in both switching devices and passive elements. Although output current ripple is reduced significantly due to interleaving effect but the inductor current ripple is not reduced. One of the solutions to this problem is to use coupled inductor. Bidirectional dc-dc converter is able to achieve high efficiency by using negative inductor current for zero-voltage switching. In this paper, two-phase bidirectional dc-dc converter is analyzed and designed for zero-voltage switching by using negative inductor current, which results in less switching loss. Also, a coupled inductor is analyzed and designed for the proposed two-phase soft switching bidirectional dc-dc converter.","PeriodicalId":240337,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-09-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121992292","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to reduce the converter size and achieve high circuit efficiency, MOSFETs with high switching frequency are adopted in the converter. To achieve high circuit efficiency, two half-bridge converters are connected in series to reduce the voltage rating of power switches and asymmetric pulse-width modulation is adopted to control output voltage and achieve zero voltage switching turn-on for all power switches. In order to share the load current and reduce the current rating of rectifier diodes for high output current applications, two center-tapped rectifiers are connected in parallel. The series-connected transformers at high voltage side are used to balance two output inductor currents. Two series capacitors are connected at the AC terminals of two half-bridge converters to balance two input capacitor voltages in every switching cycle. The output capacitances of MOSFETs and the resonant inductances are resonant at the transition instant such that MOSFETs can be turned on at zero voltage switching. Finally, experiments based on a laboratory prototype with 1kW rated power are provided to verify the effectiveness of proposed converter.","PeriodicalId":240337,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-09-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125636765","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the voltage tracing process, the Lagrange linear and quadratic interpolations have been applied to predict voltage magnitudes and phase angles. The predicted solutions are then corrected using the unbalanced three-phase forward/backward power flow solver. The solution process continues until the maximum loading conditions of the system under study are reached. The salient advantage of the method is avoiding construction of massive augmented three-phase Jacobian matrix of the classical Newton-Raphson method. The direct connected WTGSs have been modeled with sufficient details to account for distribution system unbalances and slip variations. Substation transformer tap-setting for voltage regulation is also considered. Voltage collapse scenarios are investigated for unbalanced systems using various unbalanced radial feeders. The results show the robustness of the proposed continuous power-flow method for voltage stability of power distribution networks. Assessment of the obtained results shows that WTGSs of synchronous generator types are more robust than those equipped with induction generators from the point of view of voltage stability.","PeriodicalId":240337,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT)","volume":"25 4","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-09-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121004227","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are two circuit modules in the proposed converter to share the load current and power rating. The interleaved pulse-width modulation (PWM) scheme is adopted to control two circuit modules such that the ripple currents at the input and output sides are reduced. Each circuit module has two three-level DC/DC converters with the same power switches to reduce the voltage stress of each MOSFET at Vin/2 and achieve load current sharing. Thus, the current stress and power rating at the secondary side components are reduced. The current double rectifiers are used at the secondary side to partially cancel the output ripple current. Thus, the sizes of the magnetic components and output filter capacitance are reduced. Due to the resonant behavior by the resonant inductance and resonant capacitance at the transition interval, MOSFETs can be turned on at ZVS under a wide range of load condition and input voltage. The experimental results based on a 1kW prototype are provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed converter.","PeriodicalId":240337,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-09-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121681518","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
