Malay Deli is one of the local cultures in Indonesia that tries to maintain cultural values in conditions of very strong degradation. So it is necessary to look at the patterns practiced by the Malays in maintaining and mitigating this degradation. In Weber's sociological study, to maintain the value of interaction, it is necessary to have human action so that a pattern is formed that has an impact on society. This research wants to see how the patterns of social interaction in the Malay Coastal Community differ. This study uses an interpretative paradigm process, a qualitative descriptive approach, and a case study type of research. The research locations were in the coastal area of the Metar Bilad Deli Vocational School and the Percut Vocational Area. techniques of collecting interview data (interviewing, observation, and documentation), placing purposive sampling subjects, condensing data analysis techniques, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. techniques for the validity of the credibility test, using materials and member checks. However, the most basic issue in Greek society was the rapid increase in unemployment and in particular youth unemployment, culminating in the emergence of the Neets phenomenon, the population of young people who are out of employment, education or training. Young people were affected the most during the economic crisis, shaping their expectations and self-perception against the risk of unemployment, poverty and social exclusion. In this context we explore expectations and self-perception of unemployed young people in debt-ridden Greece based on nationwide quantitative research conducted through questionnaires. The sample was 360 young persons of 15 – 25 years old who are out of employment, education or training (Neets). According to the results, the majority of young people maintain their optimism for their future, continuing to make plans, having high job motivations and desiring full employment, as well as the continuation of their training in programs which, however, are linked to the labor market. The reduction of their expectations and their participation in brain drain is done mainly for livelihood reasons and in the absence of other alternatives. The decrease in their optimism is mainly based on the fear of long-term unemployment, the low level of income, but also on the inability to utilize their high qualifications, while despite their optimism, young people show increased levels of anxiety and depression, due to the difficulties that they face. The capture of these expectations and self-perceptions is critical in the effort to develop appropriate and effective social barriers for reintegrating young people into work and social life and avoiding social exclusion. This is an issue of social vulnerability as reflected in modern sociological theory but also in the active practices of applied social and educational policy. This research can be framed also by the principles of critical pedagogy as young people could reach for critical consciousness before they radically change the material conditions of their society.","PeriodicalId":238752,"journal":{"name":"European Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128502291","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Corruption is a social pandemic occurring across the globe, from East to West, North to South. However, Asia is a part of the world where corruption grows prolific. For this reason, this paper argues that Asian values is responsible for shaping a corrupt society within Asian social structure. Asian values create a communitarian society that respect order, authority, family and relationship. Perhaps these values are misinterpreted and undermined by community for their personal benefits. There are two dimensions that Asian values might contribute to the making of corrupt society, political and social. In politics, political system and its historical legacy appear to be substantive in shaping corrupt society. Meanwhile in social architecture, Asian values itself habituate Asian community to practice corruption in their daily activities. This research aims to verify that Asian values work as a primary element in shaping corruptive behaviour within Asian society. This research operates qualitative methods with explanatory analysis mode.","PeriodicalId":238752,"journal":{"name":"European Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128579560","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Writing memos allows a researcher to move from description to richer, more mature memos ultimately ending with a sophisticated, rich, conceptual, multivariate theory. Memos are compared one with another through a method called constant comparison. Any heretofore unknown connections are established during the comparison and sorting process. These connections develop and become increasingly conceptual during the entire memoing process. Through the entire mandatory process of writing and sorting memos that have been presented in many works of Glaser, the problem is that it is still misunderstood by novice researchers who have not experienced such a process and who are more accustomed to various analytic procedures common in qualitative data analysis. In this methodological paper, I will take the reader broadly through the memo process to present and further elucidate this important and sometimes confusing tenet of classic grounded theory. The purpose of this methodological paper is to provide explanations regarding the memo process in classic grounded theory.","PeriodicalId":238752,"journal":{"name":"European Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128496629","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Islamic finance sector can solve these problems because, in principle, Islamic economics aims to achieve public welfare. Zakat, infaq, alms and waqf is one form of activity in Islamic economics, which is part of the form of compulsory worship and advice from Allah SWT. Previous studies have stated that the management and distribution of zakat, from direct assistance to community empowerment assistance, is effective in helping improve the community's social and economic welfare. Applying zakat with the community's principles and returning to the community can encourage economic equity, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, like today, where many people's economic activities are hampered. The digital zakat system is a breakthrough to increase the effectiveness of the management and distribution of zakat to the community. The digitization of zakat also makes it easier for the community to distribute zakat obligations. Coordination from various parties, such as the government, zakat institutions and academics, is needed in developing the zakat digitization system to achieve maximum results. With the application of Maqashid Syariah in managing digital zakat, it is hoped that zakat can be right on target in meeting human needs.","PeriodicalId":238752,"journal":{"name":"European Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121425783","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, a cognitive failure characterised by self-perceived issues with focus, memory, decision-making, and clear thinking, is prevalent in both the general population and the working population and can be accompanied by both decreased well-being and job competence. Given the significance of people’s health, this study investigated the connection between sociodemographic factors and cognitive failures by conducting a cross-sectional study that involved 327 employees from the health department. Forgetfulness, Distractibility, and False Triggering were measured using a 25-item cognitive failure questionnaire. Information on sociodemographic and professional traits was obtained using the questionnaire. The association between cognitive failure and sociodemographic was established by descriptive analysis and a parametric test. The results of the cognitive questionnaire showed that most respondents (89%) had normal scores for cognitive function. A study using logistic regression found a link between Distractibility during sleeping, exercising, and residing with relatives. These findings may facilitate the development of effective strategies for preventing cognitive dysfunction and its negative effects on employees.","PeriodicalId":238752,"journal":{"name":"European Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences","volume":"127 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117352798","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Data were collected through a questionnaire administered to 132 English language teachers from 10 National Secondary schools in the district of Kuala Muda, Kedah. In addition, two expert English language teachers’ reading lessons were observed, and post observation interviews were conducted with them. The data collected were analysed using a thematic analysis approach and descriptive statistics. The study found 79% of the participants exhibiting excellent knowledge of analytical thinking skills, while 19% of the participants showed a high level of knowledge and 2% of them had a fair amount of knowledge of analytical thinking skills. All 132 participants indicated positive perceptions of teaching analytical thinking skills in the English reading lessons. Observation of the two expert English language teachers revealed that ‘using open-ended questions, conducting collaborative learning among students, carrying out task-based learning as well as proper lesson planning’ as effective techniques that enhance the teaching of analytical thinking skills. On the other hand, sourcing teaching materials relevant to the topics stipulated in the syllabus and the poor English language proficiency of the students were found to be the major challenges for the two expert English language teachers when teaching analytical thinking skills.","PeriodicalId":238752,"journal":{"name":"European Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130881585","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
