The oedema was attributed to persistent cough exacerbated by delayed treatment and intubation-related irritation. Evaluations ruled out inflammatory, autoimmune, and malignant causes. This review investigates that risk-based intrapartum screening and antibiotics have reduced the incidence of EOD, but not LOD, in Denmark. No clinical or laboratory tests can rule out GBS disease at symptom onset. Thus, a high proportion of uninfected infants receive antibiotics, although this varies widely, and may be reduced by strategies of antibiotic stewardship. Contralateral pneumothorax is extremely rare in primarily unilateral trauma, especially when no contralateral rib fractures are present. A possible explanation is that of a barotrauma due to increased intrathoracic pressure with external compression. Many patients experience severe postoperative pain. In this review article, a review of the literature reveals evidence supporting a multimodal approach to pain management, which involves basic analgesic treatment in combination with glucocorticoids and local infiltration analgesia. The situation is life-threatening for the child and requires quick management with obstetric manoeuveres for delivering the shoulders. Rarely, the abdominal approach called Zavanelli manoeuvre is used to achieve delivery after a replacement of the head back in the birth canal, prior to acute caesarean section.
