A VisSim S/W environment with real-time add-on is employed to achieve this put-pose. VisSim S/W supports a variety of standard and industrial grade I/O cards and uses the block diagram programming technique, which keeps use of specialized code to minimum. All necessary reactivity feedback is taken into consideration and modeled by sufficiently accurate equations. A control rod withdrawal algorithm, which represents the actual one of the MPR, is stated and modeled. Application of traditional control algorithms are implemented and discussed. Advanced control algorithms such as fuzzy, neural network, and genetic are investigated to substitute the moving control rod selection logic and core parameter prediction. The simulator can be distributed with VisSim viewer or through generated C code from VisSim block diagram. The results of the proposed simulator in the power state agree well with the published experimental and analytical results.","PeriodicalId":231600,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the Nineteenth National Radio Science Conference","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2002-11-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124016291","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These acoustical measurements include articulation index (Al), A-weighting signal to noise ratios (S/N) obtained from speech and background noise levels, useful to detrimental sound ratios obtained from early to late sound ratios. Some room acoustic parameters were also considered like reverberation time RT, early decay time for 10 dB (EDT), early to late sound ratios (C/sub 50/) and early to total sound energy ratios (D/sub 50/). The relationships of these measures to speech intelligibility scores were studied to evaluate which were most appropriate in room for speech, and the best predictors of speech intelligibility scores were identified. It is found that the most successful measure is the useful to detrimental sound ratios based. on a 50 msec. early time interval as a predictor of speech intelligibility. From the results the optimum acoustical conditions in room for speech were determined in terms of the 50 msec. useful/detrimental ratios or articulation index or from the combinations of the reverberation time and signal to noise ratio.","PeriodicalId":231600,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the Nineteenth National Radio Science Conference","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2002-11-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125432713","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The coder uses LPC based analysis/synthesis with Zinc function excitation for voiced frames, a plosive and pitch detector to achieve good synthetic voice quality at this rate. Further, a frame deemed unvoiced has the RMS value of its LPC residual quantized and sent to the decoder. The proposed system achieved an MOS of 3.1, while conventional MELP achieved an MOS of 3.3 in a subjective quality test. Further, the coder has been simulated on a workstation and a laptop PC running windows NT. Hence the coder can be used from MS Outlook to send and receive voice e-mails. The performance of the coder under random bit errors is also presented. It has been found that only at error rates of 10/sup -2/ and higher does the degradation becomes objectionable.","PeriodicalId":231600,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the Nineteenth National Radio Science Conference","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2002-11-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116024361","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The channel model accounts for the possible occurrence of false alarms, i.e. extra data bits, in the received sequence. We propose modifications to the common decoding schemes of the convolutional codes namely, the Viterbi and the sequential decoding to compensate for these false alarms. The simulation results establish the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms in detecting false alarms with high rates.","PeriodicalId":231600,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the Nineteenth National Radio Science Conference","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2002-11-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130175171","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A comparison between the performance of the adaptive interference canceller with least mean square error (AIC-LMS) and the higher order statistics (AIC-HOS), fourth order cumulant based algorithm is presented. The performances of both algorithms are compared through computer simulations. The effects of the number of interference sources, and the change of the direction of arrival and the frequency band of the interference sources on the performance of the adaptive interference canceller are evaluated. It is found that the AIC-HOS algorithm exhibits a better adaptation speed and greater detection capability of the desired signal than that of the LMS one.","PeriodicalId":231600,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the Nineteenth National Radio Science Conference","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2002-11-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130258718","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The noise of a submicron MOSFET has been simulated using real resistors and shown to be greater than the noise expected from long-channel MOSFETs which are considered in PSpice. Applying it to the newly Inter Line Charge Coupled Devices (IT-CCD) with a reduced Vertical Overflow Drain (VOD) shutter voltage structure over a layer of Si/sub 3/N/sub 4/, its photo-responsivity was increased nearly 60% compared to that of the conventional poly-Si-gates, and about 10-20% to that of the thick/thin backside-illuminated solid state image sensor structures. Eventually its transmittivity, and its Quantum Efficiency (QE) are also improved along the light spectrum. In addition, in the blue/green region of the spectrum, about 5% improvement in the photo-responsivity of the newly reduced VOD IT-CCD image sensor structure could be seen, as well as about 10% improvement in the Infra. Red (IR)-region, compared to its previously used structure using only a layer of Si/sub 3/N/sub 4/ film.","PeriodicalId":231600,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the Nineteenth National Radio Science Conference","volume":"67 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2002-11-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131982222","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Once started, it can lead to death if left uncontrolled. To retain normal heart rhythm, chaos control through synchronization can be applied. A non-linear equivalent circuit for simulating heart behavior is suggested and tested. It is based on a set of differential equations that models heart dynamics. The obtained simulation results were consistent with those obtained rigorously. They have also demonstrated the effectiveness of the suggested technique in enforcing the heart to resume a structurally stable limit cycle state. The described synchronization technique has proven to be applicable to all heart arrhythmia, including fibrillation, bradycardia and even cardiac arrest. The controller designs described here can lead to the development of future smart clinical pacemakers.","PeriodicalId":231600,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the Nineteenth National Radio Science Conference","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2002-11-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126543018","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper examines these problems and the use of some image restoration techniques, in conjunction with motion estimation techniques widely used in video coding, to restore these pictures. The three-step method of block matching is used for motion estimation. An algorithm based on motion estimation and applying the concepts of the temporal 3D median filter is used for restoration. The results of this method show visual improvement and high reduction of the blotches, sparkles and missing data. Using other image enhancement techniques, further improvement can be obtained.","PeriodicalId":231600,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the Nineteenth National Radio Science Conference","volume":"94 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2002-11-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130148435","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It uses six groups of key-dependent s-boxes each group contains four s-boxes. Each s-box consisting of eight input bits and eight output,bits. Also thirty-two bits modulo additions and multiplications are used. Numerical results are used to implement the proposed. cryptosystem. The strength of this system is compared with the well known DES and IDEA symmetric systems and gives excellent results from the point of view of the security characteristics and the statistics of the ciphertext so the authors suggest to use the REBC in the area of banking and electronic fund transfer.","PeriodicalId":231600,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the Nineteenth National Radio Science Conference","volume":"206 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2002-11-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131518100","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
