Dimitrova","doi":"10.47475/1994-2796-2023-480-10-26-29","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.47475/1994-2796-2023-480-10-26-29","url":null,"abstract":"It is shown that modern characteristics of freedom are formed in the process of overcoming the position according to which freedom is understood as the opportunity to achieve set goals, based on the study of patterns that make it possible to predict and control further development. The modern discourse of freedom is formed in the process of transition from the search and establishment of patterns to chaos; from purposeful and rational actions to rebellion and irrational moments in creativity. Important conditions for achieving freedom are the rejection of identity and the “cult” of difference. Difference as an ontological principle allows one to overcome the pressure of the system. And the result of the ongoing transitions and new ways of describing freedom is a homeless nomad person, living in chaos, capable of refusing effective actions aimed at achieving results and, as a consequence, from the order of the world. It is concluded that the change in the vocabulary describing the characteristics of freedom is associated with the strengthening of the position according to which knowledge is not a representation of objective laws, but is only one of the ways to describe the world. {"title":"FUNCTIONING OF LOGOEPISTEMES IN JOURNALISTIC DISCOURSE (USING THE EXAMPLE OF HEADLINES OF ASTRAKHAN MASS MEDIA)","authors":"Julia A. The most frequent are logoepistemes based on phraseological units, short phrases from movies, songs, folk tales, titles of literary works. The analysis of our linguistic material indicates transformations of structure or semantics of precedent texts that form the core of logoepistemes. Headlines reproduced in the form of ready-made speech units, with content difficult to predict, are rare. In journalistic texts, logoepistematic units perform attractive, provocative and axiological functions. Logoepistematic head constructions are characterized by a rich associative potential and modal coloring of the lexical units that make up their composition, form the actual and conceptual meaning of the text. The analysis of the target settings of addressing logoepistemes in the journalistic discourse allowed us to conclude that most often, by including logoepistemes in the title, journalists seek to give a figurative assessment of events, actions or personality. Journalists use precedent phenomena stemming from cinema, fiction, folklore, history for figurative assessment of modern events. Understanding and adequate interpretation of logoepistemes based on them are the markers of belonging to a culture of a certain country. The aim of the article is to present a comprehensive interpretation of motivational writing at the intersection of different research concepts and communicative practices. The empirical base was made up of motivation letters prepared by American, British and Russian applicants for admission to various educational programs, as well as recommendations offered by universities on how to compose such texts. The main research method was a polyparadigm approach including discursive, linguocultural, narratological, genre, linguistic and stylistic aspects. The results of the study demonstrate that the motivation letter is an imperative and initial speech genre, with a hierarchical — from bottom to top — vector of relations between the author and the addressee. The content of the message reflects the development of professional and personal qualities of the applicant in a retrospective-perspective manner, whereas the form is determined by a set of structural elements (greeting, exposition, main part, conclusion). The article considers the peculiarities of lexical nominations and grammatical constructions used to express the meanings which are significant for the participants of communication. It proves that the techniques of storytelling and the use of functional-stylistic means lead to the hybridization of motivational writing as a result of interaction of academic, colloquial, administrative and artistic discourses. The study material is presented by articles from Russian, British and American media of the beginning of the 21st century, selected by a continuous sample of lexical and phraseological units from the entire variety of educational media texts. The purpose of the work is realized using a set of methods: descriptive method, interpretive analysis, lexical-semantic analysis, lexical-grammatical analysis, stylistic analysis, content analysis, elements of discursive analysis. The relevance of the studied problem is determined by the increasing interest in the anthropological approach in media communication, the importance of studying the roles of the teacher and student in the media educational space, the need to establish linguoecological norms, solve linguoecological problems in the educational media resource of Russia, the USA, and Great Britain. As a result of the analysis of educational media, the existence of five main problems was revealed: 1) destruction, fixing negative language means and negative emotions, 2) deecologization, reflecting a violation of the nature of communication, 3) deformation within the framework of communicative and personal/interpersonal processes, 4) degradation of the communicative personality and communication itself, 5) dehumanization in the social interaction of communicants. As the analysis of the actual material showed, the desire for creative communication in the educational media resource demonstrates the creative self-realization of communicants and generates negative communication, destructive discursive and social processes. It does not aim at giving a full and exhaustive account of research, but at giving a short review of its main foundations and perspectives concentrating on significant aspects of recent research. Despite the diversity of approaches, some global tendencies can be recognized in cognitive semantics and word formation research. Cognitive semantics is described as a mentalistic theory of meaning which focusses on the relationship between semantic knowledge and other cognitive systems on the one hand, and the relationship between representational and procedural aspects of semantic competence on the other hand. It is closely related to cognitive word formation. Methodological recommendations for style adaptation of digital translation have been developed. Correction of automated translation of proverbs and sayings is recommended to be carried out with the use of such translation methods as communicative way of translation, interpretation, holistic transformation technique, equivalence, and others. It is observed that, according to grammatical tradition, predicate verbs can agree with these words semantically (are used in the feminine gender), and adjectives and other attributes — grammatically (are used in the masculine gender). It was revealed that the first of the named norms in modern Russian is observed, while the second often admits violations and options. Due to that the folklore text, which reflects the distinctive features of a different culture, its history and beliefs, long ago became a special object of attention. At different stages of the development of translators’ art, there were different approaches to the interpretation of a literary text. In some eras, the translation was word for word, during other periods it was considered correct to improve the original text. Some linguists believed that literary text was untranslatable. However, in the 20th century, translation finally evolved into a science and the foundations of a systematic approach to translation were developed. The history of ballad translations in Russia goes back two centuries. Various poets worked with these texts and their approaches were often different. In some cases, translators transformed realities which they met int elements of their own culture, changed the rhythmic and organizational structure of the text, and even removed a few couplets. This approach is characteristic of the entire 19th century. Then the paradigm changes: other specialists try to preserve the original sound of the ballads, the archaic language and the syntax characteristic of ballads. Poetry translators of the 20th century set and gradually reach these goals, although some of them still translate within the framework of the approach of the period of classicism and make their own improvements to the text. The last stage is the latest translations. The disappearance of strict censorship gives the translator the opportunity to translate folk poetry using folk, colloquial, sometimes obscene words, although the appropriateness of their use should be carefully weighed in each case.
