It is argued that along with the construction of designations based on Greek-Latin term elements and borrowing from other languages, terms are created using natural language tools in a morphological, syntactic, morphological-syntactic or semantic way. At the same time, the terminology uses the semantic potential of words of general use in a peculiar way: it profi les precisely those lexical meanings that allow you to accurately convey the content of concepts in a certain area of spe-cial knowledge. The author focuses on the adjective “direct”, which functions as a component of compound terms in a number of fi elds of knowledge and activity: linguistics, mathematics, physics, biology, law, military aff airs, medicine, etc. Based on etymological dictionaries, the semantic potential of an adjective in a natural language is revealed and variants of its implementation in terminology are determined. It is shown that the dominant mea ning in special fi elds of knowledge and activity when using the word direct is ‘directly related to something’. Behind this meaning is a conceptual sign of the temporal and spatial adjacency of objects and phenomena, the presence of systemic relations between them. Highlighted in general literary explanatory dictionaries as the main adjective of the direct meaning ‘exactly elongated in some l. in the direction without bends’, that is, related to the perception of the appearance, shape of the object, is not paramount in the fi elds of special knowledge and activity, although this meaning is represented as part of terminological units (rectum, straight drill, straight cut, etc.) In linguistic and mathematical terminology, the adjective direct actualizes the meaning of ‘primary’, which is not fi xed by dictionar-ies of the general literary language, but in mathematics and some other fi elds the meaning of ‘equal, correlative’ is realized as a result of the semantic development of the word.","PeriodicalId":229258,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Chelyabinsk State University","volume":" 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141831558","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Despite the attempts made to study the personality of the manager from various scientifi c perspectives, special psycholinguistic studies of this personality have not yet been conducted. The goal of this article is to identi-fy the individual psychological characteristics of the leader’s personality based on the analysis of psycholinguistic markers in the interview texts. As a material the texts of interviews with managers from English periodicals are used: “The Economist”, “The Enterprise World”, “The Wired”, “Vizaca”, “Mckinsey”, etc. The study showed that interviews with managers diff er in compositional and structural features and are represented by three structural types: structured, semi-structured and non-standardized interview type. These types diff er in the degree of inter-view stereotypeness, the standardization of the journalist’s questions, and their personal focus on a particular inter-locutor. At the fi rst stage of the research the pre-dialog part of the interview is studied since the image of a leader is created by a journalist using certain linguistic means. The main diff erences in the format of headings for interviews with managers were found depending on the structural type of the interview. Linguistic evaluative markers in the texts of interview annotations, characterizing the personality of the leader, are analyzed. Psycholinguistic analysis, deduction and interpretation methods are applied to identify and correlate certain linguistic characteristics with the individual psychological features of the leader’s personality. An initial portrait of a successful English leader is compiled, which is formed through the journalist’s view of his interlocutor and consists of a set of specifi c profes-sional and business qualities: enthusiasm, motivation for success, dynamics, innovativeness, perseverance. Based on the diff erences in the structural organization of the interview, the importance to use qualitative and quantitative methods is justifi ed. The combination of interpretative psycholinguistic analysis with content analysis reveals itself as the most eff ective methodology for further researching the dialogical part of interviews with managers. The re-sults obtained contribute to the practice of journalist’s work, the theory of psycholinguistics and cultural linguistics.","PeriodicalId":229258,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Chelyabinsk State University","volume":" 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141831602","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The most popular today are lexical-semantic, semantic-syntactic methods, as well as the method of discourse anal-ysis, which allow an expert linguist to make an objective expert opinion on the issues raised. An expert linguist conduc ting an examination of texts with allegedly extremist content has to identify linguistic markers of extrem-ism that are implemented at all language levels. The linguistic examination of Islamist discourse texts involves taking into account genre features of a religious text, having an impact on linguistic markers. Islamist discourse is understood as texts related to political radical trends of Islamism. The article presents fundamental diff erenc-es between the terms “Islam” as a world religion and “Islamism” as a political trend. We propose an algorithm for the me thodology of analyzing texts of allegedly extremist content based on the material of an Islamist text of the “sermon” genre, the main function of which is to instruct believers. Linguistic markers of extremism in the sermon genre are identifi ed during the analysis and are classifi ed according to their main functions: motivation and appeal, negation, demonstration of the superiority of one person or group of persons over other people based on nationality, origin and attitude to religion. These linguistic markers are implemented using the following lin-guistic means: morphological (verbs of obligation, verbs of the 2nd person singular or plural in the imperative mood, the form of the imperative of the 1st person plural); syntactic (particles in imperative sentences, complex sentences with subordinate clauses, addresses in combination with verbs in the imperative mood of the 2nd per-son plural); rhetorical means (rhetorical questions, antithesis); lexical and semantic means (nouns, verbs and oth-er parts of speech with negative connotations); morphemic and word-formation means (comparative, superlative forms). The identifi ed linguistic markers realize the function of demonstrating superiority, appeal, negativity in relation to “strangers”, “others”.","PeriodicalId":229258,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Chelyabinsk State University","volume":" 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141831754","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Using the material of texts published in 2023 in the newspapers Zavtra and Kommersant, which are diff erent in terms of ideological ori-entation and stylistics, the authors examine the axiological signifi cance of such factors as the choice of the source of allusion, the absence or presence of transformation, and the leading principle of playing with the original text. Both similarities and diff erences in the creation of allusive headlines are revealed. Both publications actively seek source material from phraseology, Russian classical literature and Soviet cinema, which is explained by the priority of marketing considerations: a headline that refers to an easily recognisable text is the most attractive. In the Zavtra newspaper, the sources of allusive headlines can be modern rude and ironic statements typical of colloquial speech and works of Russian classical literature that are well known to the mass addressee. In this case, the original form of the source text is either unchanged or minimally transformed, while retaining the original evaluative connota-tions. Recognition and comprehension of such allusive titles does not require additional cognitive eff orts from the addressee, which allows us to speak about the setting to attract the attention of the widest possible addressee. The specifi cs of Kommersant’s headlines lie in the more active use of precedent statements. The sources of allusions are not only phraseological phrases and works of Russian classical literature, but also precedent texts associated with Soviet realities and texts of fi ction that are not widely known. The precedent texts, regardless of their nature, are subjected to a “reducing” transformation through language play. The attractiveness of such titles is determined by the level of background knowledge of the addressee, who needs not only to identify the source text and understand the allusion in the title text, but also to correlate the axiological characteristics of the precedent and allusive texts. The authors of the article note that titling with the use of evaluative allusion is one of the regularly used methods of adjusting the media text to the target audience.","PeriodicalId":229258,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Chelyabinsk State University","volume":" 19","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141832003","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of the work is to demonstrate the conditionality of the illocutionary functio-ning of empathic speech manifestations according to the empathogenic communicative situation in the pragmatic structure of verbal empathy. The analysis was based on material borrowed from Russian and French communica-tion platforms with the common themes “He/she abandoned me” and “The birth of a child”. The author’s interpre-tation of the “empathogenic” situation was proposed as a result of the joint verbal behavior of the addressee and the addressee, whose illocutionary intention is to initiate and maintain dialogical statements with empathic potential. Two poles of an empathogenic situation are identifi ed based on the qualitative indicator of the valence of a posi-tive/negative sign characterizing the eventful nature of the situation, as well as the manifestation of positively or negatively charged emotions of communicants. The urgency is determined by the functional description of the pragmatic meanings of empathic utterances involving the previously unconsidered positive emotional range of in-teraction between communicants, an attempt to establish the substructural interaction of empathic functions and subfunctions in the illocutionarily organized spheres of empathy and co-rejoycing as well. As the issue, the obvious importance of the eff ectuation of an empathogenic speech situation on the verbalization of empathic illocution was established. The general illocutionary functions of “consolation” of the empathic sphere of empathy and “prolonga-tion of joyful feelings” of the empathic sphere of co-rejoycing are described. Subordinated empathic subfunctions with speech-acting manifestations in empathic messages are presented. Invariant subfunctions of empathic orien-tation, namely cognitive-evaluative, encouraging, and participative in situations of positive and negative emotional background, are determined. The illocutionary types of (sympathetic) understanding and argumentation of “this is life” are demonstrated as speech mechanisms of consolation in an empathogenic situation of a negative emotional range. A positively oriented communication situation is verbalized by a speech act of co-rejoycing, (good)wishes, praises, or a speech strategy to promote “I’m ready to help”.","PeriodicalId":229258,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Chelyabinsk State University","volume":" 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141831544","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are fewer results based on professional texts, and color-denoting adjectives within legal texts have not been thoroughly studied. The goal of this article is to complement existing research by describing the semantic characteristics of color components found in legal lexicon and their translation into Russian. To analyze the semantic and structural composition of terms containing color-related components, we applied a method of continuous sampling and cluster analysis. Additionally, we used a compara-tive-contrastive analysis to examine translation methods for selected lexical units into Russian. Our sources included English-English, bilingual dictionaries of legal terms and encyclopedias. The study identifi ed ten colors refl ected in various terms used in legal communication. We described their quantitative and structural characteristics, com-ponent-based semantic composition, and established translation methods. The identifi ed lexical units encompass verbs, nouns (including compound nouns), adjectives, and fi xed expressions. We identifi ed relationships of contrast, complete equivalence, shifts in meaning, and unrelated meanings within their semantic fi elds. The research fi ndings can be applied in legal translation courses, particularly for analyzing vocabulary characterized by metaphorical transfer and idiomatic expressions. Nearly all units have been translated resorting to multiple translation techniques, although their frequency of use varies. In total, we identifi ed 22 translation methods, including subtypes. Most terms are translated through calque and explanatory translation. Some terms are translated with the help of a combination of translation methods, primarily involving calquing, identifi cation of their equivalents, or descriptive translation.","PeriodicalId":229258,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Chelyabinsk State University","volume":" 33","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141831986","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nowadays ergo-nimics, being a fi eld of onomastics, is of great interest to many linguists, because it has specifi c semantics in the gastronomic industry and is aimed at making a positive impact on the recipient. It can be explained by globalization and the interaction of language and culture. Ergonyms refer to particular lexical layer of the language system, which refl ects changes in the social sphere. The aim of the study is to single out the linguistic peculiarities of ergonyms in the Russian language. The material of the study comprises the names of cafes and restaurants in Chelyabinsk city and the Chelyabinsk region. Carrying out the research we used the method of component analysis, comparative method for analyzing ergonyms, descriptive-classifi cation method, quantitative analysis in counting lexical units and the frequency of their use. Within the framework of the present research the word-building of ergonyms and linguistic peculiarities of their functioning and stylistic diversity were studied, thematic groups were outlined, the frequency of use of lexical units was analyzed. According to the results of the present study, we can conclude that the connotative element in the semantic structure of ergonym plays the key role. Ergonyms refer to linguocultural phenomena that appear as a result of the interaction of extralinguistic and linguistic factors. The study and analy-sis of ergonyms as a linguistic phenomenon allows us to reveal the peculiarities of economy and geography of the Chelyabinsk region, to study the linguistic variety of names of cafes and restaurants in Russian. It has been proved by the wide use of lexical units in diff erent languages in the nomination of catering establishment. Ergonyms have a pragmatic impact on the target audience which is achieved through its functioning. Expressive, deictic, appellative function and identifi cation function are the essential ones in the nomination of catering establishments in the city of Chelyabinsk and Chelyabinsk region. Informal forms of proper names are very re-levant onomastic material for the interpretation and substantiation of the theory of language positivity, since the word-building formants involved in their making, even outside the context and consituation, are able to convey the fi ne nuances of positive human emotions. The purpose of this research is to prove that anthroponymic emotives are both means of explication and implication, manifestation and concealment of emotions. To achieve the goal, a sur-vey of respondents was conducted. The questions used a sample of the most popular, rare and average frequency names in Bashkortostan for 2022, including female names like Amina, Octavia and Valeria, and male names such as Amin, Justin and Vladimir. A number of questions asked about the proper names of informants and their attitudes towards the use of diminutive forms. The analysis of responses showed that most respondents perceived these forms positively. The main scope of these names was limited to communication with loved ones. The frequency of use of informal vocatives in 57.1% of responses was determined by the situation. Participants in the survey off ered 24–80 variants for diminutive forms, which according to respondents implied a subjective positive evaluation. Among the diminutive suffi xes of anthroponyms, the most positive emotional connotation is carried by suffi xes such as -ochkand -ik. Linguistic and cultural analysis has allowed us to identify value dominants and stereotypes of communica-tive behavior among linguistic personalities. The extralinguistic interpretation of diminutive proper names provides a reason to regard onomastic units (anthroponyms) as positively connotated emotives. Based on the results of the research, we can conclude that the ethnically specifi c feature of speech in bilingual conditions, using the onomastics of the Republic of Bashkortostan as an example, is the tradition of person naming that has developed in the native language as well as the use of Russian word-formation patterns.","PeriodicalId":229258,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Chelyabinsk State University","volume":" 10","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141832077","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is shown that currently in the country, as a result of the increase in the number of crimes committed using mobile phones, scientifi c interest in the speech of a fraudster, methods of infl uencing the victim is increasing, and the question of the need for eff ective protection against unwanted communication arises. The description of the live speech of a fraudster in a real communication situation is relevant; the subject of scientifi c research attracts resear-chers with the opportunity to understand the mechanisms and methods of infl uencing the consciousness of a real or potential victim. The material consisted of recordings of the verbatim content of phonograms in criminal cases. The authors attempt to consider the text of the fraudster’s speech from the point of view of a psycholinguistic approach. A review is made of the scientifi c views of Russian scientists on the manipulation of opinions and actions, and the basic concepts are qualifi ed. The concepts of “linguistic picture of the world” and “linguistic consciousness” are revealed. The authors of the scientifi c article convincingly demonstrated how the slightest change in the communi-cation situation instantly aff ects the structure of the dialogue. We study how the process of substitution of linguistic consciousness occurs in a situation of communication between a fraudster and a victim. The focus is on the seman-tic, pragmatic, syntactic aspects of speech manipulation. Attempts have been made to identify the reasons for the victim’s unquestioning adherence to the criminal’s instructions. In conclusion, the authors proved that in order to prevent this type of crime, it is most important to convey to the potential victim that it is necessary to break off the communicative act (hang up), not to give the criminal the slightest chance to replace the linguistic picture of the world, to immerse the victim in an illusion, which, when disappearing, will cause damage not only to the victim’s bank account, but also to mental health. The theoretical signifi cance of the scientifi c article is seen in the fact that the real recorded speech of the fraudster was studied and the suggestive potential of the remarks was investigated.
