DEEPL TRANSLATE TECHNOLOGY IN THE TRANSLATION OF PROVERBS AND SAYINGS (ON THE MATERIAL OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE)

The article presents the results of the study of the linguistic capabilities of machine translation of English proverbs and sayings based on DeepL Translate technology. Methodological recommendations for style adaptation of digital translation have been developed. Correction of automated translation of proverbs and sayings is recommended to be carried out with the use of such translation methods as communicative way of translation, interpretation, holistic transformation technique, equivalence, and others. It was concluded that the DeepL Translate program needs to be improved in terms of pragmatic adaptation of the received text to the dominants of the literary translation.
