They are facing social, economic, political and religious discriminations simultaneously. Overall, caste-based discrimination against Scheduled Castes has become norm of the society. Nobody is bothered to look into their life striking subalternity matters. As religious minority in the district, scheduled caste Hindu women are suffering layers of discrimination in an Islamic society, dominated by 99 percent Muslims with additional burden of conversion. The concept of othering can be best illustrated in the sense of Scheduled Caste women; the practice of ‘untouchability is rampant in the society. In other words, they are being considered as Achhoot in the society. As a result, Scheduled Castes often live-in separate colonies, are being compelled to eat food in separate crockery, and are not allowed to sit with Muslims and upper castes Hindus as well. So, in a sense, the Scheduled Castes women face systematic oppression in both public and private spheres; first in Muslim dominated district, second in the higher caste Hindu community and third in the male dominated structures of their own families. At the bottom of social hierarchy, schedule castes women are not only deprived of social assets but also frequently suffer from the violation of personal dignity and freedom through sexual abuse, alienation, abduction and force conversion and marriages. They are facing class bound subalternity, age bound subalternity, gendered bound subalternity, religion bound Subalternity, and political bound subalternity simultaneously.","PeriodicalId":225408,"journal":{"name":"Progressive Research Journal of Arts & Humanities (PRJAH)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123636176","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This transformation does not necessarily mean that the conflict loses or gains its effectiveness rather an individualistic aspect comes into play. Baloch conflict is a pivotal issue facing Pakistan since its inception that has played a crucial role in determining its geopolitical strategy. Baloch conflict has been ignited and extinguished many times since independence of Pakistan, they have tried different tactics such as insurgency in the past, going for guerilla warfare. Recently 5th generation warfare has been employed and social media has been utilized as a platform for propagation of message. This is due to the fact that Baloch conflict is absent from mainstream media and social media, because of its freedom of speech, is filling its shoes. Even though social media has offered a space for genuine grievances, it has also provided the opportunity to insurgents and anti-state actors to spread misinformation. Its dual role of access and manipulation makes it a stage of polarization that needs to be addressed instead of being ignored. This study explores the securitization of social media as a platform and how much social media has transformed narrative and information trends about Baloch conflict and how people respond to them.","PeriodicalId":225408,"journal":{"name":"Progressive Research Journal of Arts & Humanities (PRJAH)","volume":"37 4","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132238066","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Identity in the modern world, premised on the principles of democracy and freedom, is considered a basic human right. Pakistan is also one such state that recognizes people’s right to association. However, in Pakistan, Gilgit-Baltistan probably is athe only tract of land in comity of nations that, unlike secessionist movements across the globe, has continued to struggle for complete integration with the state of Pakistan. Both partner states have initiated cooperation in many areas such as space, cyberspace, and many other areas of defense. The Indian space program in partnership with Israel is acquiring modern means and it will give the Indian military, a dominant position in the conflict-prone region of South Asia where the Indian hegemony is challenged by Pakistan. The intelligence sharing and modernizing of the Indian military will help India to acquire advanced technology for the contemporary combat environment. This paper argues that India already enjoys superiority in South Asia and Indo-Israel strategic partnership will create a strategic imbalance. Moreover, this strategic imbalance will compel Pakistan to look for countermeasures.","PeriodicalId":225408,"journal":{"name":"Progressive Research Journal of Arts & Humanities (PRJAH)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126575679","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For Pakistani state, Mohammad Bin Qasim is a national hero who made Sindh, the Bab-ul-Islam (the door of Islam). However, for the Sindhi nationalists Muhammad Bin Qasim was an invader and Raja Dahir is a national hero of Sindh, who fought and sacrificed his life to defend his motherland. In Sindh a new discourse is emerging as well which claims to fight for the rights of the Dalit community in Sindh. The claimants of Dalit discourse, say not only Mohammad Bin Qasim was usurper and foreign invader but also Brahmin Hindu, Raja Dahir was a son of a usurper, Chach who had dethroned the Dalit ruler of Sindh, Rai Sahasi II by conspiracy and deceit. In this paper an attempt is made to explore how a single historical event, the conquest of Sindh in 712, is used to construct three different discourses and corresponding three identities the Pakistani, Sindhi and Dalit. It is interesting to observe how history casts its shadow on the present, while present tries to construct the ‘reality’ in the past. The basic purpose of this research would be to understand the politics behind three contrasting discourses rather than proving the superiority or veracity of one discourse over the others.","PeriodicalId":225408,"journal":{"name":"Progressive Research Journal of Arts & Humanities (PRJAH)","volume":"333 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124694585","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

English in Pakistan is given much significance and considered as gateway to success. In the private sector schools, English is used as a medium of instruction from Nursery, KG and onwards. The widespread use of English in Pakistan is considered as linguistic imperialism and exploitation of the regional languages. Sindhi is believed to be one of the oldest languages. The British authorities during their reign in Sindh promoted Sindhi language and culture. In order to ease difficulties in Sindhi writing, the British government established a committee to design an appropriate Sindhi script, because previously, it was written in the different scripts. Above all, Sindhi was also designated as an official language of Sindh province. The data of this study was collected through semi- structured interviews. The findings of this study reveal that Sindhi intelligentsia is well- aware of the utilitarian value of English. They also believe that proficiency over English language can help promote their culture and literature across the globe. This study further, reveals that Sindhi intelligentsia has positive attitude towards English language, but they also want to preserve their own language and cultural identity.","PeriodicalId":225408,"journal":{"name":"Progressive Research Journal of Arts & Humanities (PRJAH)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123389982","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
