Sequential explanatory design, one of the mixed research methods, was used in the research. The quantitative research design of the study was used in the descriptive method, while the qualitative research was used in the phenomenology (phenomenology) design. In this study; laboratory proficiency scale and semi-structured opinion form were used to collect data from science teachers. And in addition, the physical and security conditions of the laboratories as well as their compliance with the curriculum were evaluated through the checklist. In the analysis of the data, the SPSS 23.0 package program was used for the quantitative data and descriptive analysis was performed. Content analysis technique was used in qualitative data analysis. According to the results of the study, some teachers stated that they use the laboratory actively and they consider themselves sufficient in this context. When examined in terms of gender, the level of competence of women in laboratory studies is higher than that of men, and the result was determined within the scope of the study. It is among the results of the study that teachers feel inadequate in having maintenance and repair knowledge skills. In addition, most of the teachers stated that the laboratory equipment was sufficient, but they stated that the class size was a problem and they thought to reduce the use of the laboratory in case of a possible safety problem. As a result of the laboratory control questionnaire, the teachers made positive statements regarding the suitability of the physical location of the laboratories for use and daily experiments. Kirindi","doi":"10.30855/gjes.2020.06.03.004","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.30855/gjes.2020.06.03.004","url":null,"abstract":"In this study, the researcher aimed to determine the effects of the science course that prepared via the argumentation-based learning method and the questioning-based learning method, to the scientific-process skills of the students and their academic achievements. Furthermore, we also examined the view of students about argumentation-based learning. The study consisted of 6th-grade student participants that taught in 2017-2018 education year in fall semester. The study included two groups whose success levels are similar to each other. One of them is treatment group (n=25) and the other one is control group (n=25) The study has been carried out within the scope of the science course. While control group was instructed by the activities in the book that is appropriate with curriculum, the experiment group instructed by the argumentation-based science learning activities. To obtain quantitative data researcher used “scientific process ability Scale” and “sciences achievement Scale” which has been applied as a pre-test-post-test method. To obtain qualitative data, we used semi-structured “argumentation interview form” with the aim to define students’ views about argumentation-based science teaching. For the analysis of quantitative data, whilst we used dependent t-test and independent t-test, for qualitative data, we used content-analysis technique. According to quantitative data analysis results, it has been found that argumentation-based learning had positive impact on students’ academic success levels in their progress of scientific process skills. Students’ views also supported these results. Bu amaci gerceklestirmek uzere planetaryum gezisi ile entegre edilmis ve 5E modeline uygun olarak hazirlanmis ders plani uygulanmistir. Arastirma problemine cevap aramak adina nicel ve nitel veriler toplanmis bu sebeple karma yontem kullanilmistir. Arastirmanin calisma grubunu 2019-2020 ogretim yilinda Amasya ilinde bir koy okulunun 7/A ve 7/B subelerinde yer alan 32 7. sinif ogrencisi olusturmaktadir. Orneklem seciminde Uygun Ornekleme Yontemi kullanilmistir. Veri toplama araci olarak nicel verilerin toplanmasinda ‘Gunes Sistemi Otesi: Gok Cisimleri Akademik Basari Testi’, ‘Fen Konularina Yonelik Ilgi Olcegi’ ve ‘Fen Ogrenimine Yonelik Motivasyon Olcegi’ kullanilmis ve gruplara on test-son test seklinde uygulanmistir. Veri analizinde SPSS 22 programi ile Shapiro-Wilk normallik testi, istatistiksel hesaplamalar icin ise Bagimsiz Orneklem t-Testi kullanilmistir. Nitel verilerinin toplanmasinda ise ogrenci goruslerinin belirlenmesi amaciyla gezi oncesi ve gezi sonrasi gorusme sorulari kullanilmistir. Veriler icerik analizi ile degerlendirilmistir. Arastirma sonucunda okul disi ogretimin planli bir sekilde yurutuldugu takdirde amacina ulastigi, mevcut ogretime gore planetaryum gezisi ile ogretimin ogrenci basarisini, ogrencilerde fen konularina yonelik ilgi ve fen ogrenmeye yonelik motivasyon duzeyini anlamli olcude artirdigi tespit edilmistir. Baslangicta planetaryum ile ilgili hicbir fikri olmayan ogrencilerin bu ortami tanidigi, eglenceli ve ogretici buldugu gorulmustur. Bu calismada, nicel arastirma yontemlerinden biri olan deneysel yontemle gerceklestirilmistir. Arastirmacilar tarafindan gelistirilmis Likert turundeki 28 maddeden olusan Fizik Dersi Tutum Olcegi ile TUBITAK Bilim Fuarlarina katilan ogrencilerin tutumlarindaki degisim incelenmistir. Arastirmada ilgi, kaygi, onem ve ozyeterlik faktorlerinden olusan fizik dersine yonelik tutum olcegi kullanilmistir. Olcek TUBITAK Bilim Fuari ile ilgili on hazirlik calismalari baslamadan dort ay kadar once ve fuardan bir hafta sonra, bir fen lisesinde ogrenim goren 33’u kadin, 59’u erkek, toplam 92 lise ogrencisine uygulanmistir. Sonuc olarak, ogrencilerin genel tutumlarinda olumlu yonde bir degisim olmasina karsin, yalnizca kaygi boyutundaki degisim istatistiksel olarak anlamli duzeydedir.
