The methods is qualitative descriptive by using the comparison of the three thematic kampong in Semarang. This type of web 2.0 technology is considered suitable for pedagogical writing practices due to its multimodality features that promote multi-way interactions and collaborations. However, some issues emerge regarding its integration, one of which includes its effectivenes in improving students‘ writing. This paper thus aims to critically review the use of blogs as a pedagogical tool for writing in an English as a Foreign Language (EFL) context and some issues regarding its use. It reflects on relevant theories and previous empirical studies on the use of blogs in writing and its potentials in facilitating students’ writing. This study employs descriptive qualitative as it attempts at describing ELEP alumni current opinion about how well pedagogical content on ELEP curriculum helps them as a teacher. Interview had done to collect alumni views toward the issue. The result shows that that the content of some pedagogical courses such as Pengantar Pendidikan and Etika Profesi need to be improved to add more practical knowledge than theoretical knowledge. Students need more exposure on the real view of what happen in the real teaching and learning process in high school. Data collection used in-depth interview techniques for elementary school teachers in Luhak Tanah Datar and Luhak Agam. Data was conducted qualitatively. The results of the interview indicates that the teachers do not understand thematic learning comprehensively. Teachers assume that new thematic learning models can be applied if students have already been good at reading, writing, and counting.
