In the development of this work we describe the design proposal of a useful tool for the monitoring of the GEM detector panels in order to measure the current consumption and in this way to know the useful life of the detector, due to in theory the GEM doesn’t produce discharges but in real life there are some small discharges (nano and micro amperes) that deteriorate the detector. In this proposal it is also contemplated to design a software to analyze the interaction of electromagnetic fields within a waveguide that represents the pathways within a printed circuit board using the study of electromagnetic theory in the development of a simulator, which will allow to analyze the effects of these fields in the propagation of the signals that are obtained and to determine if the data obtained are adequate to allow their subsequent analysis.","PeriodicalId":220522,"journal":{"name":"Res. The instrument used is the Inventory of Strategies of Learning and Motivational Orientation (EDAOM) this instrument consists of a self-assessment that the student makes on the learning strategies that employs. For the implementation of the visual techniques was used the Language R, with these techniques were represented individually to the students with their respective learning strategies. The results show the interaction of the students with the learning strategies and the academic performance, visualization that the students of the Degree in Administrative Computing obtain the lowest values in the strategies of performance and academic performance.","PeriodicalId":220522,"journal":{"name":"Res. In order to measure this precision, the exchange rate Mexican Peso – US Dollar in Mexico was used in comparison with the predictions calculated by the statistical method moving averages. The problem consisted of obtaining the values that minimize the average quadratic error between the real value and the forecast value to obtain a prediction with a minimum error margin. The genetic algorithm application was designed using the following real representation chromosomes: the crossing BLX-0.5 operator as well as the non-uniform mutation operator. These operators offer a better capacity on exploration and exploitation resulting in the genetic algorithm that provides a precision increase of 14% in comparison to the precision of the statistical moving average method.","PeriodicalId":220522,"journal":{"name":"Res. In this paper we present a Web platform designed to allow medical students and practitioners to study clinical cases on their own. The main objective of this proposal is to address key problems inherent in the traditional study of clinical cases by providing a tool that implements techniques and elements of gamification, simulation, and serious games. The proposed platform offers an improved learning experience through a virtual environment that provides an alternative method for training and interpretation of clinical cases for medical examinations. Medical students and practitioners can play the role of a real doctor in a simulated office. In particular, the platform allows medical students and practitioners to learn through their mistakes without hurting human beings. In addition, this platform is designed to allow users to add new clinical cases and make them available for study. The platform was validated in a local hospital by 8 medical practitioners. The participants indicated that the platform design, the tutorials included, and the ease of use factors are satisfactory.","PeriodicalId":220522,"journal":{"name":"Res. Comput. The increased incidence of Alzheimer's disease (AD) and diabetes mellitus (DM) are emerging as major public health problems worldwide. Both sufferings share pathophysiological characteristics and have no cure. Inflammation of the central and peripheral nervous system has been shown to be the link between DM and AD. Oxidative stress is also associated with AD and DM. The increasing complexity of the problems and the continuous growth of information creates the need for the use of Decision Suport System (DSS) driven by the use of new technologies such as big data and machine learning. In this context, the objective of this work is to use decision trees and Bayesian networks as mechanisms of classification of AD gene expression levels, DM, inflammation and oxidative stress, MMSE (Mini-Mental State Examination) score and the number of neurofibrillary tangles to classify 31 individuals (9 healthy controls and 22 AD patients in three different stages of disease) that could be key in the development of AD. Our results allowed us to generate classification models of different states of AD severity, according to the MMSE and we found that the level of expression of the ADIPOQ gene could play an important role in the onset of AD. Our pre-dictive model can contribute knowledge that could be incorporated into a personalized medical DSS in the future.","PeriodicalId":220522,"journal":{"name":"Res. Comput.
