Usually, -3 dB bandwidth of single stage amplifier is in few MHz. High output impedance and subsequent capacitive loading decrease the bandwidth of amplifier. The presented technique uses a load which itself acts as bandwidth enhancer. This high speed amplifier is designed on 180 nm CMOS technology, operates at 2.5 V power supply. This amplifier is succeeded by an output buffer to achieve a better linearity, high output swing and required output impedance for matching.","PeriodicalId":215340,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Symposium on Communications and Information Technologies","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130953635","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

User can feel force-feed back and tactile sense simultaneously with this device. Existing haptic devices are very big system, so they are difficult to put on. And some of them have to be set device on the ground. It is very annoying to use if a user have to set a big box on the ground. It may interrupt user's range of view and difficult to move in immersive virtual environment. So it is very important that haptic display for immersive virtual environment is portable and doesn't need assist device to actuate. We propose haptic device that uses two materials in order to meet requirements. In this paper we propose haptic device using magnetorheological fluid and artificial muscle. Each material is used for giving tactile sense and force-feedback. In this paper we developed force-feedback display and tactile display, and evaluated usefulness of them.","PeriodicalId":215340,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Symposium on Communications and Information Technologies","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128106831","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, through findings and studies, it is found that more than 50% of the CRM implementations were failed. This was due to five reasons such as system with no-ease-of-use, no understanding from business point-of-view, wrong focus, no user involvement and user resistance. This study attempts to clarify the issues that contribute to the failure of CRM and suggest how a Human computer interaction (HCI) approach will be able to address these issues. This study proposes to simplify the design of the system by using a few approaches namely user centered design (UCD), hierarchical task analysis (HTA), metaphor and user's behavior and characteristic identification in order to come out with a high in usability CRM system. In order to get a wider view of the current CRM implementation, this study has been conducted in the one of multinational company (MNC) in Malaysia. The development and implementation of the system manage to address the current CRM issues and allow users to carry out their task efficiently and effectively thus allows the organization to satisfy their customers' needs.","PeriodicalId":215340,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Symposium on Communications and Information Technologies","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114265894","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The method is based on the preliminary detection of the main edge detection of retinal image. The segmentation optic disc is estimated as a circular area. We searched for areas of optic disc using Hough transform which detected several straight lines and approximated them as a circular line. The position of optic disc was identified as the center of the circle. An evaluation of the proposed procedure was performed using a set of 40 images from the DRIVE database, containing images from both healthy (33) and diseased (7) subjects. The optic disc position was correctly identified in 39 out of 40 images and the efficiency was 97.5 percent. The results illustrate that the proposed method can be used for pathological analysis of retinal images.","PeriodicalId":215340,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Symposium on Communications and Information Technologies","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124753575","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This approach used a fuzzy C-mean algorithm (FCM) to classify 8times8 DCT blocks as texture or non texture region. The genetic algorithms (GAs) are then performed to find out the optimal parameters for watermark embedding, independently for each region type. The experimental results show that the proposed approach yields a watermark that is invisible to human eyes and robust to various image manipulations. The algorithm was also compared with the previous work, and our algorithm is superior for all test images.","PeriodicalId":215340,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Symposium on Communications and Information Technologies","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123327230","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, it is a challenge to compute 3D measurements in real-time for high resolution input images even if special hardwares are used. This paper proposes a new coarse-to-fine method that can reduce the computation time of the stereo matching problem. The time reduction is done by sampling disparity spaces and computing the matching costs at only the sampled positions. The disparity map that is derived from a sampled disparity space is used to limit the search region for the finer map to its surrounding region. Because of the sampling of disparity spaces and the limitation of the search region, the computation time is reduced dramatically even if the disparity search range is enlarged significantly. The proposed method has been tested with several public stereo image datasets on the Internet. The experimental results indicate that the proposed method can save much of the computation time compared to the other methods that need to compute all of matching costs inside disparity spaces.","PeriodicalId":215340,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Symposium on Communications and Information Technologies","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128559210","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper presented an architectural framework and prototype of credit card authorization system using thread-level parallelism and shared memory pool techniques in order to support dynamic tuning of the size of the thread pool at runtime. Normally, single threaded were chosen by software developer in current credit card authorization whereby authentication process takes longer time to respond and its limitation of handling huge number of simultaneous transactions at the same time. As a result, the performance of the authorization system was affected during peak hours. Through thread-level parallelism technique or usually known as multi-threading, each worker thread will be assigned with several child threads to perform online fraud validation concurrently, depending on numbers of cryptographic elements presented in transaction message while the work thread itself performed card restriction validation based on the card information stored in card's shared memory pool.","PeriodicalId":215340,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Symposium on Communications and Information Technologies","volume":"137 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116364239","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
