Regarding computerized tomography techniques, several researchers have developed 3D reconstruction from X-ray images. Authors also have already proposed a 3D reconstruction technique from X-ray photograph to present bone structure. However, the technique uses many X-ray photographs. Therefore, there arises X-ray exposure problem. One of the solution is to use X-ray fluoroscopy instead of X-ray photograph. X-ray fluoroscopy uses weak intensity X-ray compared with conventional X-ray photograph. Although fluoroscopy can take movie around object and many view images can be taken, the contrast of image is quite low. To reconstruct 3D image from X-ray fluoroscopy, authors have already proposed a 3D reconstruction from X-ray fluoroscopy for clinical veterinary medicine using differential volume rendering. The volume rendering image can display some organs or tissues by user's manual parameter setting. However, this parameter setting is very difficult and complicated to find the optimal parameters for setting opacity. This paper proposes a method to generate the parameters automatically. The parameters are base differential value and maximum differential value. These parameters are set from first maximum point and second maximum point at differentiated value histogram information. In addition, a possibility can be shown where organs are separated by selection of peak points at the histogram. This paper shows the results of experimental investigation of small dog.","PeriodicalId":215340,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Symposium on Communications and Information Technologies","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124418519","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To ensure reliable spectrum sensing, quiet periods (QPs) are allocated during which all secondary users cease transmission and perform spectrum sensing. Such that, regular transmission will be interrupted periodically and the system quality of service (QoS) could be decreased to some extent. In this paper, a spectrum sensing scheme which is based on the transmitted reference (TR) technique is proposed where a secondary signal is transmitted in the first half frame and is reversed to retransmit in the second half one. For the sensing CR user, the first half received signals are delayed and added to the second half ones. By doing so, the strong interference from the other CR user can be alleviated without affecting the spectrum detection performance. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme is very effective and a nearly same detection performance can be obtained comparing with the method when a long enough QP is used.","PeriodicalId":215340,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Symposium on Communications and Information Technologies","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126123225","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Compared with other converters in the same class, such as Cuk and Sepic converters, the Zeta converter has received the least attention, and more importantly, its dynamic modeling and control have never been reported before in the literature. This paper presents dynamic modeling and control of a Zeta converter. The State-Space Averaging (SSA) technique is applied to find small-signal linear dynamic model of the converter, whereby various transfer functions of the converter can be determined. Based on the control-to-output transfer function, the compensator in PWM feedback loop can be designed to regulate the output voltage. Simulation results show that the converter exhibits good performance during a start-up and step load change.","PeriodicalId":215340,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Symposium on Communications and Information Technologies","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133789050","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A circular stent protrusion with a length of between 5-7 mm inside the abdominal aorta is simulated in two aorta models, and computational fluid dynamics is performed to detect the change of flow pattern and flow rate at the renal arteries. Our results demonstrate change of the renal flow rate is minimal following implantation of fenestrated stents, indicating the safety of fenestrated stent graft repair of patients with aortic aneurysms.","PeriodicalId":215340,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Symposium on Communications and Information Technologies","volume":"68 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133831936","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the prediction of Dengue Haemorrhagic Fever outbreak needs the analysis from experts which is inconvenient and costly. An automatic prediction system should be developed. This paper proposes an automatic prediction system of Dengue Haemorrhagic-Fever outbreak risk by using entropy technique and artificial neural network. In this system, the information extraction is preprocessed prior to the prediction in order to reduce data redundancy and retain only those relevant data. First, the external factors such as temperature, relative humidity, and rainfall are considered during the information extraction. Then, a supervised neural network is deployed to predict the possible risk of Dengue Haemorrhagic Fever outbreak. To evaluate the performance of proposed system, the experiments based on the condition of weather data and Dengue Haemorrhagic Fever cases from January 1999 until December 2007 were conducted. Our prediction achieves 85.92% accuracy compared to the actual data.","PeriodicalId":215340,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Symposium on Communications and Information Technologies","volume":"186 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134485434","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The simulated results are presented ultra-wideband performance of this antenna by using Computer Simulation Technology (CSTreg). The simulated results verified that the proposed antenna radiates unidirectional pattern. Moreover, the antenna design is described in terms of return loss/impedance bandwidth and radiation pattern. The return loss of better than 10 dB covers the frequency range from 2.46 to 12.41 GHz. The proposed antenna has a unidirectional pattern with the gain of 9.98 dBi at 3 GHz, 11.56 dBi at 7 GHz and 11.59 dBi at 11 GHz from the simulated results. Moreover, the design of this antenna is simple. Therefore, proposed antenna is suitable for many applications in long and narrow path service cell.","PeriodicalId":215340,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Symposium on Communications and Information Technologies","volume":"52 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134181780","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
