The concept about outlier factor of object is extended to the case of cluster. Based on outlier factor of cluster, a clustering-based outlier detection method, named CBOD, is presented. The method consists of two stages, the first stage cluster dataset by one-pass clustering algorithm and second stage determine outlier cluster by outlier factor. The time complexity of CBOD is nearly linear with the size of dataset and the number of attributes, which results in good scalability and adapts to large dataset. The theoretic analysis and the experimental results show that the detection method is effective and practicable.","PeriodicalId":208332,"journal":{"name":"2008 Fifth International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery","volume":"305 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-10-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116195800","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The only way to access the backend database is through query interface. Automatic extracting query attributes from the query form and automatic translating source queries into target queries is a solvable way for addressing the current limitations in accessing deep Web data sources. We use the WordNet as a kind of ontology technique to enrich the attributes contained in the semantic form. Because of Web semantic constraint provided by the query form, some attributes are co-occurred and the others are exclusive sometimes. To generate a valid query, we have to reconcile the key attributes and their semantic relations. We show a method to find the semantic relation of the attributes in the sources query from and different forms and translate query between different query forms.","PeriodicalId":208332,"journal":{"name":"2008 Fifth International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery","volume":"130 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-10-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116275167","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to improve system performance, fuzzy control is used in speed loop and ANN is used in SVM. PMSM drive simulation model with novel SVM-DTC is created and studied using MATLAB. Simulation results demonstrate the feasibility and validity of the proposed DTC system by effectively accelerating system response, reducing torque and flux ripple and improving system performance.","PeriodicalId":208332,"journal":{"name":"2008 Fifth International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-10-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116331465","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Recent researches have indicated that intensive precipitation in the Yangtze River Basin in China is closely related to the activity of Mesoscale Convective Systems (MCS) moving out of the Tibetan Plateau in China, however, the factors that influence MCS trajectories are very complex. To discover the trajectories of MCS and features of environmental physical field favoring MCS origination and development over the Plateau, in this paper, MCS are automatically tracked over the Plateau using GMS infrared black-body temperature data. Based on these, spatial clustering method, CLARANS method, is applied to analyzing the characteristics of dynamical field, which influence MCS move eastward out of the Plateau in summer, using environmental physical field forecasting values. The results reveal that the methods are effective and valuable approaches to studying the conditions of environmental physical field favoring the trajectory and propagation of MCS, and improving the predictability of intensive convective weather.","PeriodicalId":208332,"journal":{"name":"2008 Fifth International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-10-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121488073","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The key step of this method is how to determine the parameter m effectively. In this paper, we use quantum genetic algorithm to solve it. Quantum genetic algorithm is used to automatically determine the optimal parameter m and the membership function parameters (a,b,c) respectively based on an image segmentation quality evaluation criterion and the maximum fuzzy entropy criterion, realizing the automatic selection of the threshold in generalized fuzzy entropy-based image segmentation method. In this paper, we propose a new method based on formal concept analysis (FCA) to build a two-level hierarchy for retrieved search results of a query. After formal concepts are extracted using FCA, anew algorithm is proposed to extract concepts most relevant to the query and a two-level hierarchy is built and presented to the user. Evaluating the quality of the resulting clusters is a non-trivial task. Two improved objective metrics of clustering quality, ANMI@K and ANCE@K, are proposed in this paper. We compare our method with three other search results clustering (SRC) algorithms: Suffix tree clustering (STC), Lingo, and Vivisimo, using a comprehensive set of documents obtained from the Open Directory Project hierarchy as benchmark. In addition to comparison based on objective measures, we also subjectively analyze the properties of cluster labels produced by different SRC algorithms. The experimental results show that our method outperforms the other three SRC algorithms, and is helpful for browsing and locating the results of interests.","PeriodicalId":208332,"journal":{"name":"2008 Fifth International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-10-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128127180","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
