We statically derive the features within Bayesian framework, cluster them into groups according to their position and then assigning weights respectively. The model is evaluated by TREC Spam corpus and compared with the TREC results. The control scheme is based on a multilayer perceptrons neural network (MLPNN) of the ship. The MLPNN is adapted by an extended Kalman filter (EKF) to learn ship's dynamics changes. Therefore, the autopilot output is guaranteed to converge to the desired trajectory asymptotically, and the ship also tracks the desired trajectory due to error estimator. The proposed scheme is evaluated by applying it to a simulated continuous ship's movement process.","PeriodicalId":208332,"journal":{"name":"2008 Fifth International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery","volume":"183 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-10-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121946904","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the model, drivers are divided into several classes according as their knowledge about the network traffic condition and travel-decision characteristics are the same within each class, but differ among classes. Some new concepts, such as OD perceived cost and familiar level with the traffic condition, are introduced based on a-cut of fuzzy set. The equilibrium principle is defined based on the similarity measure and equilibrium condition is formulated as an equivalent variational inequality problem. A numerical example shows that the proposed model obtains more realistic results than the other two models, UE and SUE.","PeriodicalId":208332,"journal":{"name":"2008 Fifth International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-10-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121747016","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Experimental results indicate that when the facial brightness of an image is high, the new proposed nonlinear color space conversion algorithm based on YCbCr color space is better than the simple method, which wipes off the effect of the brightness directly, and Hsu R L skin detection algorithm. The series of experimental results demonstrate clearly that our new method has a higher detection ratio on high bright facial images, and can drop the false or missing detection ratio on high luminance images. In order to get high-quality compression, it first clusters frequent sequential patterns, and then select and output only a representative sequential pattern for each cluster such that the number of these representative sequential patterns is minimized. A greedy algorithm and an efficient candidate-based algorithm are proposed. The set of representative sequential patterns is a kind of subset of frequent sequential patterns. Experimental results show that it can achieve very good compression effect.","PeriodicalId":208332,"journal":{"name":"2008 Fifth International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery","volume":"39 1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-10-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131999033","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Sengupta, 1996] was built in Taiwan in the late 1990s and was published in 2002. The procedures for collecting anthropometric data are usually complicated and costly in terms of resources such as workforce, time, and money. According to previous experiences and surveys among the designers and engineers, most practitioners do not know how the old anthropometric data may be converted into applicable new ones when updated data is unavailable [E.M. Wang et al., 1999]. Therefore, it is indeed a significant undertaking to develop methods that can easily convert old data into new ones easily especially with minimal errors. This study used statistical regression analysis and artificial neural networks (ANN) to estimate body dimensions and verified their effect. Subsequently, the estimation of stature built through stepwise regression was more accurate, convenient, and available compared to the other which was built through artificial neural networks.","PeriodicalId":208332,"journal":{"name":"2008 Fifth International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-10-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132071766","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we propose a novel query expansion technique based on concept clique for Markov network information retrieval model. This technique strengthens the simple relationships between terms in the following two ways:(1) terms in a clique express a similar concept and will be added into query expansion, so that it is effective to expanded into some terms with low similar to query terms but highly related to query topic; (2) query term dependencies are used to select concept cliques as candidates. The selection of concept cliques based on a connected graph is effective to avoid topic drift during expanding polysemous query terms. Experiments on several collections show that new approach makes significant improvements and more effective on collections with polysemous terms.","PeriodicalId":208332,"journal":{"name":"2008 Fifth International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery","volume":"121 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-10-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132551009","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
