Bornmann","doi":"10.3145/EPI.2021.ENE.21","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.3145/EPI.2021.ENE.21","url":null,"abstract":"The disruption index (DI) based on bibliographic coupling and uncoupling between a document and its references was first proposed by Funk & Owen-Smith (2017) for citation relations among patents and then adapted for scholarly papers by Wu et al. (2019). However, Wu & Wu (2019) argued that this indicator would be inconsistent. We propose revised disruption indices (DI* and DI#) which make the indicator theoretically more robust and consistent. Along similar lines, Chen et al. (2020) developed the indicator into two dimensions: disruption and consolidation. We elaborate the improvements in simulations and empirically. The relations between disruption, consolidation, and bibliographic coupling are further specified. Bibliographic coupling of a focal paper with its cited references generates historical continuity. This scarce commodity, whose market value lies in its credibility and depends on costly investments of time and money in professional research, has frequently required a subsidy, which for more than a century was provided by advertising. Now that this subsidy has mostly been devoured by technological platforms such as Google and Facebook, the industry and profession are developing new models focused on user needs and wants with a trend toward public service rather than profit. This paper uses deductive and critical methodologies to identify the most promising business models used by media companies to counteract the decline in public-interest journalism. Our proposal is that an appropriate business model can be the best way to revitalize media companies. The research is based on Chesbrough’s business model framework applied to 20 leading digital news publications from 16 countries. Se ha llevado a cabo una exhaustiva revision del material publicado en acceso abierto por estas editoriales que ha permitido establecer un diagnostico de su nivel de edicion en acceso abierto. La literatura gris es el tipo documental mas frecuente seguido de la monografia, en la publicacion en abierto de las editoriales universitarias que no alcanza ni el 5% de la produccion editorial universitaria. Sin embargo, en las ultimas decadas ha surgido un nuevo genero: el periodismo comic, una formula creativa que hibrida codigos y rutinas del comic con recursos narrativos propios del periodismo de inmersion. A principios de los anos noventa, Joe Sacco destaco entre una serie de autores que popularizaron este nuevo formato, tomo conciencia de la condicion del comic como genero informativo y busco una formula propia para contar historias de no ficcion. El fotografo, publicado originalmente en 2003, supuso la inclusion de fotografias para dar mayor realismo a esta formula y narrar la experiencia vivida por Didier Lefevre en la guerra de Afganistan en 1986. En 2016, los periodistas Carlos Spottorno y Guillermo Abril publican La grieta, un relato que vuelve a mezclar codigos procedentes del periodismo y del comic, donde fotografias sometidas a un tratamiento cromatico especial sustituyen a los dibujos en cada vineta. El presente estudio analiza el impacto y la evolucion del periodismo comic a traves de este diario de campo de dos reporteros que recorren una linea fronteriza que comienza en Africa y llega hasta el Artico, con el fin de desentranar las causas y consecuencias de la crisis de identidad de Europa. Una obra traducida a varios idiomas y merecedora de varios premios internacionales, que abre nuevas vias de experimentacion narrativa y estetica en el terreno del periodismo comic. However, this greater social participation in political discourse through such platforms does not always translate into an improvement in the quality of democratic deliberation. The aim of this research is to examine the characteristics of comments and conversations on YouTube in a pre-election period to determine whether such discursive interaction contributes to strengthening the democratic system or if, on the contrary, is detrimental to it. Adopting a quantitative–qualitative approach, content analysis and critical discourse analysis are combined to examine 471 comments collected from the most viewed videos on YouTube in the month before the Andalusian elections held on 2 December 2018. Various aspects are considered, including the theme and typology of opinions, the use of foul language, and the modes that the conversation adopts. The results indicate a social discourse in which the exchange of opposing positions prevails, including comments with a strong emotional burden that tend to attack or criticize the ideology of the protagonists in the videos, and where rudeness is present (although there are exceptions), mainly as personal insults among the participants. El gran aumento de contenido ofrecido al usuario (que reduce la concentracion de espectadores a una seleccion limitada), su explotacion dentro del modelo economico de la suscripcion (que elimina la cotizacion publicitaria del espacio) y la multiplicacion de consumos en distintos horarios y a traves de distintos recepto-res, muchos de ellos moviles y fuera del hogar (lo que complica su monitorizacion), ha generado un nuevo ecosistema. Dentro del mismo, el exito ya no se puede evaluar en base a los indicadores de la audimetria tradicional. En el presente articulo se aborda como se comporta la audiencia en el consumo de contenidos en plataformas de streamingy las nue-vas dimensiones con las que se evalua el exito de una serie televisiva mas alla de los datos que ofrecen las tecnicas de medicion de audiencias (TAM). Se repasa la transformacion del concepto de popularidad y el impacto en el medio que distribuye el contenido de estos nuevos indicadores de audiencia, que anaden a los elementos tradicionales (anuncian-tes y ventas internacionales) nuevas dimensiones (engagement, retencion de clientes, captacion de talento, nuevas altas, branding, etc.). El estudio se integra en un marco de investigacion mas amplio que avanza en la construccion de un nuevo concepto de audiencia en el consumo de video bajo demanda en modelo de suscripcion (tomando Netflix como referencia, dada su cuota de mercado) y reflexiona sobre si es posible un concepto de audiencia unico aplicable a todos los modelos de consumo y explotacion audiovisual bajo demanda. La casa de papel se ha tomado como estudio de caso, ya que esun buen ejemplo de estas dos maneras de entender la audiencia: la vinculada a su recorrido comercial de exito en la parrilla de Antena 3 y la derivada de su incorporacion a Netflix, plataforma donde se popularizo globalmente EnglishThe growth in popularity of on-demand content consumption, boosted by large global agents such as Netflix, Amazon and HBO, has brought audience fragmentation even further. Exponential growth in the content available to users (which reduces viewer concentration based on a limited selection), its commercialisation through a subscription-based business model (removing advertising from content) and the boom in consumption on different receivers, many of them mobile or outside the home (thus complicating people meter monitoring), has generated a new ecosystem where success can no longer be assessed using traditional audience measurement systems. Los datos se extraen del proyecto de investigacion Transmedia literacy (2015-2018), que tenia como objetivos principales explorar que estan haciendo los adolescentes con los medios y como aprendieron a hacerlo. Para ello, se realizo un acercamiento etnografico utilizando varios metodos de investigacion como cuestionarios, entrevistas y observacion participante, entre otros. En ese articulo nos centramos en el analisis del cuestionario implementado para mapear los habitos de uso y consumo mediatico de los adolescentes (N=1.520). Para responder a los objetivos del articulo se ha llevado a cabo un analisis descriptivo univariante y bivariante. Ademas de determinar factores explicativos de la adopcion de estos medios por parte de las instituciones de auditoria publica europeas centrales y regionales, se lleva a cabo un analisis comparativo de las redes sociales que mas utilizan, para contestar las siguientes preguntas: ?como utilizan las instituciones de auditoria publica europeas los medios de comunicacion social? y ?cual es el nivel de seguimiento e interaccion de sus usuarios? Este trabajo analiza 92 instituciones de auditoria publica europeas: 28 instituciones de auditoria centrales (supreme audit institutions, SAIs), 63 regionales (regional audit institutions, RAIs) y la European Court of Auditors (ECA). Los resultados indican que el nivel de uso de los medios de comunicacion social por parte de estas instituciones es reducido, con mayores niveles de adopcion en las SAIs, en los territorios con mayor numero de habitantes y con estilos de administracion publica anglosajon, nordico y del Este de Europa. Los resultados tambien muestran que las redes sociales se utilizan principalmente para transmitir informacion sobre las actividades que realizan y que las publicaciones que buscan mejorar la imagen de las instituciones son las que generan una mayor repercusion en los usuarios. Las publicaciones dirigidas a comenzar un dialogo con los usuarios son las menos frecuentes. Although research in journalism innovation has experienced considerable growth in recent years, theoretical, methodological, and systematic contributions have received little and fragmented attention. Three hundred and two peer-reviewed publications, in both English and Spanish, were included in the sample. The most researched areas included diffusion theory, management, organizational culture, professional profiles, business models, genres and content, tools and technology, media labs and start-ups. Other less developed areas, such as policy, methodology, ethics, or journalism education, are also discussed. A sua recuperacao da web e terminologica e a selecao final e feita por especialistas sempre que apresentam conhecimentos, atividades ou requisitos relacionados com a Ciencia da Informacao e a transformacao digital. Depois de padronizar o formato, os anuncios sao contrastados com uma taxonomia elaborada ad hoc, a fim de categoriza-los. Taxonomia e corpus de anuncios sao comparados a partir de arquivos XML automatizados em Apache Solr. Desde a taxonomia se lancam as consultas ao texto dos anuncios. Os dados obtidos se armazenam como conjuntos em formato CSV desde os quais se geram os grupos de conhecimentos gerais e especificos. Os resultados sao apresentados, primeiro, por classes de conhecimentos e por perfis profissionais, centrando a atencao nos relacionados com a transformacao digital. Se explicam os ramos de atividade das empresas que convocam as vagas, ao tempo que os conhecimentos transversais de informatica. Em seguida se apresentam e interpretam os conhecimentos especificos do âmbito digital, agrupados nas facetas mais determinantes: objetos digitais, bancos de dados, servicos digitais, analise de dados, bancos de conhecimentos e inteligencia artificial, software, sistemas de organizacao do conhecimento (SOC), direitos e valores, web e portais. Distinguem-se pelo escopo da sua frequencia e pelas mudancas que implicam nas atividades profissionais.
