The targets related to the active components were obtained via PubChem database. The targets related to T2DM were retrieved through the GeneCards database. The targets corresponding to the active components and diabetes mellitus were uploaded to the Venn diagrams website to get the Venn diagram, and the intersecting targets were the potential targets of QHJTC in treating T2DM. The active components and potential targets were imported into Cytoscape 3.7.2 software to construct the active component–potential target network, and the key compounds and targets were screened by the Network Analyzer module in the Tools module. The potential targets were imported into the STRING database to obtain the interaction relationships, so as to analyze and construct the protein–protein interaction (PPI) network by Cytoscape 3.7.2 software. The intersecting targets were introduced into Metascape for gene ontology (GO) functional enrichment analysis and Kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes (KEGG) pathway enrichment analysis. The top 20 signaling pathways obtained by the KEGG pathway enrichment analysis and the related targets and the corresponding targets were analyzed by using Cytoscape 3.7.2 software to construct the “active component–important target-key pathway network ” for the intervention of T2DM with QHJTC. The control group was treated with estrogen sequential therapy, and the observation group was treated with Bushen Culuan prescription. The clinical efficacy, sex hormone levels including (follicle-stimulating hormone [FSH], luteinizing hormone [LH], and estradiol [E2]), ovarian function, ovarian blood flow status (peak systolic velocity [PSV], antral follicle count [AFC], arterial pulse index [PI], and resistance index [RI]), and pregnancy outcome in the two groups were compared and analyzed.\u0000 Results The total effective rate of the observation group (96.00%) was significantly higher than that of the control group (80.00%). The difference was statistically significant (p < 0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference in sex hormone levels (FSH, LH, E2, and FSH/LH), ovarian function (number of primary follicles, number of dominant follicles, ovulation number, and endometrial thickness), and ovarian blood flow (PSV, RI, PI, and AFC) between the two groups (p > 0.05). After treatment, the levels of serum hormones FSH, LH, E2, and FSH/LH decreased significantly in both groups. The number of primary follicles, dominant follicles, and ovulation increased significantly, and the thickness of endometrium decreased significantly; the indexes of PSV, RI, and AFC of ovarian blood flow increased significantly, and the PI index decreased significantly. The levels of each index in the observation group were better than those in the control group (p < 0.05). In the control group, 32 cases were pregnant within 1 year after treatment, and the pregnancy rate was 64.00%; 21 cases in the observation group were pregnant within 1 year after treatment, and the pregnancy rate was 42.00%; the pregnancy rate in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (χ2 = 4.014, p = 0.045 < 0.05).\u0000 Conclusion Bushen Culuan prescription has a definite effect on infertility due to ovarian hypofunction. The action mechanism may involve multicomponent and multitarget stimulation to improve patients' ovarian function, regulate the level of sex hormones, and improve the pregnancy outcome.","PeriodicalId":204577,"journal":{"name":"Chinese medicine and natural products","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114534865","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Both the single use of it and as a Chinese herbal compound have significant clinical efficacy. Its effective components including lignans, flavonoids, iridoid terpenes, polysaccharides, etc., participate in the treatment of LDH through multiple channels, which can effectively inhibit immune and inflammatory reactions, promote the repair of intervertebral disk bone tissues, protect neurological functions, enhance cell metabolism, regulate endocrine, etc. The signal pathways of Wnt/β-catenin, TNF, HL-1, MAPK, PI3K/AKT, and NF-κB may be also involved. The action mechanism of Duzhong (Eucommiae Cortex) on LDH is characterized by multiple paths, multiple targets, and multiple component cross-actions, but the direct effects of specific components of Duzhong (Eucommiae Cortex) on LDH pathological tissues have not been clarified in the existing studies. At present, the study on the efficacy of Chinese herbs has not yet included the chemical reactions among the pharmaceutical components and pharmaceutical processing, etc. Relevant experimental studies need to further extract the effective components through purification technology, analyze the target information between Duzhong (Eucommiae Cortex) and LDH through network pharmacology and biology, and strengthen the influence of different processing methods on the pharmaceutical effects of Chinese herbs to increase the choice of clinical medication. In the experimental study, the animal cell models were finely constructed, and the pathological targets of LDH were excavated, which was conducive to the development and application of new drugs.","PeriodicalId":204577,"journal":{"name":"Chinese medicine and natural products","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127666856","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the current situation of the global outbreak, it is crucial to promote the global application of TCM. However, the pandemic has also exposed various problems affecting the widespread acceptance of TCM. In this review, we summarize efforts to prevent and control COVID-19 by TCM and provide strategic guidance on how to promote its practice in the context of public health emergencies by (1) completing the system for evaluating the clinical efficacy of TCM; (2) transforming decoctions into Chinese patent medicines; (3) encouraging low-threshold traditional rehabilitation therapy; (4) strengthening communication and cooperation with the media. The aim of these approaches is to improve the rigor of TCM research and its dissemination, sharing the antiepidemic experience of TCM to the world, as well as increase the engagement of and acceptance by the masses. In this manner, TCM will not only aid in preventing and controlling COVID-19 but can also provide tools for coping with future public health emergencies.","PeriodicalId":204577,"journal":{"name":"Chinese medicine and natural products","volume":"231 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132351635","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

On the one hand, there is not a single explanation of its pathological mechanism, which directly affects the treatment efficacy. On the other hand, the complicated symptoms of long COVID and COVID-19 vaccine adverse reactions involve multiple systems and the number of affected patients is large, which have attracted great attention. Acupuncture time-acupoints-space (ATAS) is a new acupuncture technique developed on the basis of four methods of day-prescription of acupoints (Na Jia method), hour-prescription of acupoints (Na Zi Method), eightfold methods of the sacred tortoise (Ling Gui Eight Methods), and eight methods of swift puncturing of needles (Fei Teng Eight Methods) in midnight-noon and ebb-flow doctrine (Zi Wu Liu Zhu). The main idea of ATAS is to use the orderly combination of time acupoints and space acupoints to construct a field to regulate qi movement and treat diseases through the qi field effect. In France, although traditional Chinese medicine cannot be directly used to treat COVID-19, hundreds of patients with long COVID and COVID-19 vaccine adverse reactions have been treated using the four methods of ATAS. With reference to the microcirculatory lesions in the pathological mechanism of COVID-19 in Western medicine, hour prescription of acupoints (Na Zi Method) of ATAS showed specific efficacy for long COVID.","PeriodicalId":204577,"journal":{"name":"Chinese medicine and natural products","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128431894","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

(1) Rehabilitation intervention of TCM in the recovery period is the focus of international TCM clinical antiepidemic practice in the later stage of the epidemic. (2) The epidemic has accelerated the development of the internet toward high-tech online education and medical care. (3) The epidemic has forced overseas TCM to transform from the “agricultural era” to the “postindustrial era.” (4) It has become a trend that the proportion of theory courses in online teaching will increase dramatically. (5) The limited number of practical training courses and the simultaneous online and offline rotation of teaching will become a useful medium of exploration. (6) Online sharing of high-quality courses can save costs and is also the direction of future development. (7) It will become the norm for the adoption of online TCM conferences that break traditional barriers of locale and time zone. (8) The renewal of the heavy TCM clinical and teaching equipment is the trend of future development. (9) The involvement of finance and venture capital will catalyze the development of the field of corporate international chains of TCM and acupuncture. (10) Changes in the international political situation may affect the speed of the development of international Chinese medicine but will not stop its progress.","PeriodicalId":204577,"journal":{"name":"Chinese medicine and natural products","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121178047","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
