As an extension of testability technology, PHM (Prognostics and Health Management) provides a more sophisticated form to quantify and predict equipment health state and remaining useful life (RUL). Therefore, many researches attach importance to the prognostic validation and verification technology during the past two decades. However, there are fewer studies made in test plan and universal test method of prognostic demonstration test. From the point of statistical view, this paper analyzes the outputs of prognostics and researches on the characteristics of prognostic sample population and sample feature. This paper proposes the standardized description form of prognostics output and build a demonstrable index of prognostic capability. With the continuous improvement of random vibration test device, narrowband vibration is easy to achieve, which leads to demands of precisely described random vibration test. Based on statistics theory, the paper elaborates a quantitative method to make a vibration specification spectrum. However, most of existing researches of Lamb wave based damage detection mainly focus on specific target systems. Physical models which correlate the crack size and damage sensitive features may vary with different structural geometry, loading profile et al. Therefore, it is of significant interest to develop a general methodology for reliable, efficient and accurate crack quantification for different structures. This paper presents a crack size quantification method based on finite element simulation. Lamb wave propagation mechanism is studied by Abaqus simulation. A series of simulations of both healthy plate and plates with different crack sizes are performed using Abaqus CAE. According to existing literatures, S0 mode of Lamb wave is sensitive with crack damage. Thus first wave package of S0 mode is chosen to extract damage features from measured time series. Two damage sensitive features: normalized amplitude and correlation coefficients are identified by analyzing simulation results and employed to establish a crack size quantification model. Considering the uncertainties caused by different manufacturing and environmental conditions, series of coupon tests are performed and the same damage sensitive features of testing data are extracted. Probability density function (PDF) is a token for aleatory uncertainty usually, and it expresses normal distribution. According to evidence theory, the equal interval is adopted to disperse the PDFs. Based on the analyzing the error of dispersed function and divided intervals, the endpoints' error of a single interval between the PDF and interval are set up for the principles, and we represent three principles. In order to stabilize the production process, Extreme Learning Machine network is used to model the molecular distillation system and proposes heuristic dynamic programming algorithm based on extreme learning machine. For the purpose of verifying the effectiveness of the algorithm, the algorithm is used to control the wiped film molecular distillation system and the optimizing control results show that the heuristic dynamic programming algorithm has good control effect and improves the stability of the molecular distillation process. This method requires the shaft rotating speed beforehand. However, a tacho is not always allowed to be installed in the industry and furthermore the signal components associated to shaft rotating speed cannot be directly extracted from vibration signals for a bearing case. As such, this paper proposes a tacho-free method for bearing fault diagnosis based on the joint application of oscillatory behaviors based signal decomposition (OBSD) and generalized demodulation (GD) to address the problems. The OBSD method, which is capable of distinguishing impulses (low-oscillation component) from sustained oscillation signal components (high-oscillation component) based on the signal oscillatory behaviors, is firstly used to extract the incipient fault-induced impulses. The extracted impulsive-signal together with the short time Fourier transform (STFT) leads to a TFR dominated by fault-revealing trend lines, from which the instantaneous fault characteristic frequency (IFCF) can be estimated. Guided by the extracted IFCF, the GD is subsequently applied to mapping the trajectory of time-frequency component of interest into a linear path parallel to the time axis. The shaft rotating frequency and IFCF as well as their harmonics can then be identified on the order spectra which assemble all spectra of generalized demodulated signals. Firstly, fuzzy incomplete relationships between temperatures of inside points and surface points were introduced. Secondly, from the fuzzy incomplete relationships complete relationships could be obtained using inference process of Markov logic networks. Finally, based on constraint least-squares support vector machine (CT_LSSVM) and the temperature field on the surface of the solid the 3-D temperature field inside the impenetrable solid could be constructed. These modeling methods for the time-varying mesh stiffness (TVMS) include Yang's method, Tian's method and Liang's method which can not consider the effect of the fillet foundation stiffness, Zhou's method, Wan's method, two methods proposed by Ma and finite element method which include the effect of the fillet foundation stiffness. The effects of the crack and spalling are introduced into these models to calculate the TVMS for gear pairs with faults, and TVMS are compared based on these methods. By combining the TVMS with a two-dimensional lumped mass model of a gear system, the system vibration responses are compared using these modeling methods. The comparison results show that the fillet foundation stiffness has an important influence on the TVMS and vibration responses of the gear systems. Firstly, in order to obtain effective features indexes of bearing performance degradation, with the collected vibration acceleration data, the data was decomposed by LMD and state features were extracted and dimensionality reduced by PCA. And then, on the basis of the feature indexes, the method that combined least squares SVM and segmented vote was developed. Compared with the traditional pattern recognition methods, the new method improves identification accuracy effectively. The experiment results shown that the identification accuracy rates of three stages (normal operation, the primary degradation and the severely degradation) are higher than 95%.
