The suffered failures will degrade the system performance with output torque ripple and harmonic currents. In this paper, a new diagnosis method is proposed to detect and locate the insulated gate bipolar translator (IGBT) open-circuit fault. Discrete wavelet transform (DWT) is used as a pre-treatment technique for three-phase output currents, the approximate coefficients are applied to obtain energy vectors. Correlation coefficients between every two of the energy vectors are calculated for measuring the current similarity to diagnose fault. When IGBTs occur open-circuit fault, the values of correlation coefficients will be smaller than that under normal conditions, then faults can be detected. Faults can also be located according to the relationship between cumulative correlation coefficients and the legs. Simulation results show high efficiency and merits of the proposed method.","PeriodicalId":202597,"journal":{"name":"2016 Prognostics and System Health Management Conference (PHM-Chengdu)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114956433","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Modern aircrafts are designed to use a vehicle management system (VMS) that integrates many flight critical functions into one system. Vehicle management system (VMS) benefit a lot from integration; however, the safety issues brought from integration have been ignored. The new hazards cannot be well resolved through traditional safety analysis based on ARP 4761. The paper summarizes the relevant safety problems of VMS system include the issues introduced by integration design. On the basis of ARP 4761, the paper proposes a comprehensive safety analysis method to analyze the potential threats in VMS system from four aspects. The method makes full use of the various analytical techniques to identify a more wide range of hazards in VMS system. Then detailed analysis processes are given to guide hazard analysis. Finally the method has been applied in the VMS system in a project, which shows the method is feasible. The methods in this paper can also be used to analyze other integrated systems' safety, which can guide VMS's designs.","PeriodicalId":202597,"journal":{"name":"2016 Prognostics and System Health Management Conference (PHM-Chengdu)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129665688","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In practice, a Li-ion battery system often works under variable operating states, which is usually caused by the evolving environment or the different operational conditions. Thus, for remaining useful cycles (RUC) prognostics in this situation, it is important to estimate the current operating state of the system. This paper proposes a support vector regression (SVR) based data-driven approach using the possibilistic clustering classification and particle filtering to estimate the system state and select SVR parameters according to the system state. Experiments data provided by NASA Ames Prognostics Center of Excellence are introduced to testify the superiority of the proposed method.","PeriodicalId":202597,"journal":{"name":"2016 Prognostics and System Health Management Conference (PHM-Chengdu)","volume":"53 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129795346","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Package materials and executing seal processes were studied to find the mechanism that leads to badly consistency IVA test result. And analysis of the test tolerance and the sensitive measure steps was presented. A way to solve problem of inlet pressure depression was to redesign the fixture tools for small hermetic devices. This redesign follows the principle to eliminate the vacuum cavity when applying a fixture too. Test result turns out stable and reliable in the later practical engineering after redesign, which proves that the amelioration of IVA test method is effective.","PeriodicalId":202597,"journal":{"name":"2016 Prognostics and System Health Management Conference (PHM-Chengdu)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134454169","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This article presents a methodology to predict the RUL of a class of multi-component systems with hidden degradation processes. In the real industrial process, components of a system are usually in the same environment, so their degradations may be affected by a common factor which is assumed to be public noise. Here two Brownian Motions are adopted in the degradation process of every component to describe the public noise and the private noise separately. The degradation states and model unknown parameters are first identified recursively by Kalman filter and EM algorithm. Then the RUL distribution of every component can be predicted by inferring the first hitting time (FHT) with a known threshold. A numerical example is presented to verify the main results.","PeriodicalId":202597,"journal":{"name":"2016 Prognostics and System Health Management Conference (PHM-Chengdu)","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134564866","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, it is necessary to sample and save abundant original vibration data in the process of uninterrupted monitoring, and this will generate masses of original data which would burden the storage and transmission. For this issue, a health indicator extraction method based on sparse representation and reconstruction theory is proposed in this paper. It only needs to sample and save fewer compressive measurements of vibration signal directly compared to original signal. There is no need to recover the original signal accurately for extract health indicators, while it just requires some sparse representation and reconstruction results based on the redundant dictionary of the original signals. The effectiveness of the method proposed is validated with simulation data.","PeriodicalId":202597,"journal":{"name":"2016 Prognostics and System Health Management Conference (PHM-Chengdu)","volume":"65 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131086597","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, Iwan model was applied to describe the nonlinear softening stiffness and hysteresis behaviors of joint interface. The dynamic governing equations of vibration system are conducted with the consideration of these typical nonlinear behaviors. The multi-harmonic balance method was then used to analyze the steady-state dynamic response under the oscillatory loading in time-frequency domain. The proposed method was compared with the numerical integration solution, and the effect of the oscillatory frequency was also studied. The results show that the proposed harmonic balance method can solve the steady-state response more efficiently and agrees well with the numerical integration solution. With the increase of the oscillatory frequency, the maximum of displacement become less, inducing less area of hysteresis curve.","PeriodicalId":202597,"journal":{"name":"2016 Prognostics and System Health Management Conference (PHM-Chengdu)","volume":"56 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132054602","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The working and testing method of the memory is complex, for large capacity memory, the workload of generating a test pattern by the method of using manually is prohibitive. And Simulation files may not be obtained from design companies by the reason of protection of intellectual property rights. Thus, a Flash memory test pattern automatic generation method was studied; a generator is developed based on Labview. In this method, information of pins can be defined, information of command, address and data pins can be setup, and the length of a single vector can be identified. Specifications of internal blocks and pages are also defined, length of pattern which used for erasure, read and write operation is calculated. Finally, test pattern can be generated according to the selected algorithm, pins information and internal structure information. The results indicate that the proposed method is valid for functional test of Flash memory.","PeriodicalId":202597,"journal":{"name":"2016 Prognostics and System Health Management Conference (PHM-Chengdu)","volume":"84 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116055962","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Effects of common U-shaped groove and V-shaped groove on the cavitation phenomenon are analyzed, and the process of cavitation bubbles from growth to collapse is studied numerically. It is shown that the cavitation can be effectively restrained to a certain extent by increasing the number of V-shaped grooves or the aspect ratio of the cross section of a U-shaped groove under the same flow area. The erosion caused by the cavitation can be effectively reduced leading to a substantial improvement of the reliability and lifespan of axial piston pumps.","PeriodicalId":202597,"journal":{"name":"2016 Prognostics and System Health Management Conference (PHM-Chengdu)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128579542","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
