{"title":"Predictor variables that affect the resilience of university students: The effect of chronotypes.","authors":"Simge Nazan Eker, Serap Yıldırım","doi":"10.1111/ppc.12953","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1111/ppc.12953","url":null,"abstract":"<p><strong>Aim: </strong>The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of chronotypes and other variables as predictors of resilience in university students.</p><p><strong>Method: </strong>The study was conducted with 1040 students studying at Ege University in Turkey.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>The mean total Adult Resilience Scale (ARS) score of the students was found to be 120.23 ± 17.54 and the mean total score of the Morningness-Eveningness Questionnaire (MEQ) was 47.56 ± 8.95 and 63.0% of the students had intermediate type chronotype. Early detection and intervention are important for high-risk individuals.</p><p><strong>Design and methods: </strong>This retrospective study used the five-item Brief Symptom Rating Scale (BSRS-5) to assess psychological distress and evaluate whether proactive intervention may reduce distress levels among hospitalized patients in a single medical center in northern Taiwan.</p><p><strong>Findings: </strong>Of the patients, 10.7% were found to have varying degrees of emotional distress (BSRS-5 ≥ 6). After providing integrated medical care for patients with psychological distress, the degree of stress decreased significantly (p < 0.001). LS increased in the intervention group that received training. the number of education is an effective factor in LS. As the number of education increased, the level of LS increased in the intervention group.</p><p><strong>Conclusion: </strong>There is a linear relationship between independence in maintaining ADLs and LS in the elderly, and as the level of independence increases in the elderly, their LS also increases. Data were collected from participants with the personal information form, Turkish Health Literacy Scale, and Mental Health Literacy Scale.</p><p><strong>Findings: </strong>The study found that 48.2% of the individuals had insufficient-limited HL and that 46.2% had a low level of MHL. Data were collected using demographic information form, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, and Oxford Happiness Questionnaire.</p><p><strong>Findings: </strong>The mean scores of sleep quality and happiness in military and nonmilitary intervention groups improved significantly immediately and 1 month after the intervention compared to control groups (p < 0.001).
